Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the effectiveness of simulation model in improving students social skill and social skill indicators which were easy and difficult to gain. This was a class action research. This research procedures were stages of planning, action, execution, observation, and reflection to make decisions for further development. Research subjects were 32 classroom VIII D students in Public Senior High School 1 in Tumijajar. The results showed that (1) the use of simulation model in social science learning could improve students social skill, and (2) easy and difficult to gain indicator scales for social skill. All social indicators for social skill had improved and gained predetermined indicators up to cycle III, so that this research was terminated in cycle III. Only one students social skill indicator which was difficult to gain it was ability to follow the instructions. penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektifitas model simulasi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa dan indikator keterampilan sosial yang mudah dicapai dan yang sulit dicapai. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi untuk pengambilan keputusan guna pengembangan lebih lanjut. Subjek pernelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII D yang berjumlah 32 orang. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) penggunaan model simulasi dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa, dan (2) skala indikator keterampilan sosial mana yang mudah dicapai dan mana yang sulit dicapai. Seluruh indikator keterampilan sosial sudah mengalami kenaikan dan sudah mencapai indikator yang ditentukan sampai dengan siklus III. Sehingga penelitian dihentikan sampai pada siklus III. Hanya ada satu indikator keterampilan social siswa yang sulit capai yaitu kemampuan mengikuti petunjuk.Kata kunci: keterampilan sosial, PTK, simulasi
