Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning of TPS in terms of students mathematical concepts. The population of this research was all students of seventh grade in Junior High School 3 Natar that were distributed into four classes. The samples of this research were students of VIIB and VIIC class which were chosen of purposive sampling. This research used pretest and postest control group design. Analysis data of this research used t-test. Based on the result of this research, it was concluded that cooperative learning of TPS wasn’t effective in terms of students mathematical concepts.  Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pem­belajaran kooperatif tipe TPS ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Natar yang terdistribusi kedalam 4 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B dan VII C yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest posttest control group design. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji . Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.  Kata kunci: think pair share, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental research that aimed to find out the effectiveness of ethnomathematic-based discovery learning of students mathematical communication skill. The design which was used was posttest only control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade 8SMP Muhamadiyah 3 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2017/2018 has 177 students. The sample of this research were students of VIII-B class has 29 students that were determined by purposive sampling. The data research was yield by test (posttest) about the ability of mathematical communication. The statistical test used was t-test. Based on the results of research and discussion, it was concluded that ethnomathematic-based discovery learning was not effective to students mathematical communication skill, but the average of mathematical communication skill better than conventional learning.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran discovery berbasis ethnomathematic terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhamadiyah 3 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 berjumlah 177 siswa dan sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-B berjumlah 29 siswa yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes (posttest) mengenai kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Uji statistik yang digunakan yaitu uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran discovery berbasis ethnomathematic tidak efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, tetapi rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematisnya lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata Kunci: discovery learning, efektivitas, ethnomathematic, kemampuan komunikasi matematis

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of discovery learning models in terms of students’ critical thinking skills. The population of this research were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 20 Bandarlampung even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year distributed in eleven classes. The sample of this research were students of class VII_G and VII_H who were chosen through purposive sampling technique. The research design used for students’ critical thinking skills is the pretest-posttest control group design. The research instrument used was a test of critical thinking skills in the form of problem descriptions with quadrilaterals and triangles material. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the t test, it was concluded that the discovery learning models was not effective in terms of students’ critical thinking skills, but discovery learning was better to be applied in improving students’ critical thinking skills than conventional learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of initial ability and learning motivation on students' mathematical communication skills. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA SMA Fransiskus Bandar Lampung odd semester 2020/2021 academic year. The sample of this research was 32 students of class XI_IPA_2, who were selected using cluster random sampling technique. Analysis of research data using multiple linear regression test. The results of the hypothesis test show that there is a significant influence between initial ability on mathematical communication skills, there is a significant influence between learning motivation on mathematical communication skills, and there is a significant influence jointly between initial ability and learning motivation on mathematical communication skills. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that the initial ability and learning motivation have a significant effect on students' mathematical communication skills. Keywords: Influence, Initial Ability, Learning Motivation, Mathematical Communication

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed tofind out the effectiveness oflearning with strategies based on etnomathematic Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) in improving students communication of mathematics. This research used one group pretest-posttest design. The design used is one group pretest-posttest. The experiment population are all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Metro of academic year 2017/2018 which were distributed into eight classes with grade VIII-Fstudents as research samples taken by purposive sampling technique. Data of students mathematical communication ability is obtained through the test technique with essay type. Analysis data of this research used t paired-test.The results showed that mathematic learning with REACT strategy based on etnomathematics was not effective in terms of students mathematical communication abilityPenelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran matematika dengan strategi REACT berbasis etnomatematika dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Desain yang digunakan adalah One Group Pretest-Posttest. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Metro semester genap tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam delapan kelas dengan siswa kelas VIII-F sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa diperoleh melalui teknik tes berbentuk uraian. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji t berpasangan. Abstract

Matematika merupakan salah satu pelajaran yang materinya memiliki karakteristik tertentu bila dibandingkan dengan pelajaran lain. Karakteristik tertentu tersebut seperti materinya bersifat abstrak, logis, sistematis, dan menggunakan simbol yang bersifat universal. Karakteristik inilah yang menjadi salah satu faktor matematika sulit dipahami siswa, apalagi siswa SD (sekolah dasar). Untuk membantu kesulitan siswa tersebut maka perlu pemanfaatan media pembelajaran sebagai sarana yang memudahkan belajar siswa, seperti media audio visual. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian adalah meningkatkan penge-tahuan guru SD tentang media-visual matematika, dan keterampilan guru SD dalam membuat media audio visual matematika. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian adalah guru SD yang mengajar matematika di Kota Bandar Lampung sebanyak 32 orang. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan selama 6 hari, yaitu 1 hari untuk penyampaian materi/teori (Sabtu, 9 Oktober 2021, dilaksanakan di ruang kuliah G9, Gedung G FKIP Universitas Lampung) dan 5 hari untuk pembimbingan praktek (Senin-Jumat, 11-15 Oktober 2021, dilaksanakan secara daring/online). Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah (1) meningkatknya pengetahuan guru SD dalam membuat media audio visual dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,88 (rata-rata skor pretes: 46,95; dan rata-rata skor postes: 95,08), dan (2) meningkatnya keterampilan guru SD dalam membuat media audio visual; hal ini ditunjukkan oleh media audio visual yang dihasilkan guru. DOI: https://doi.org/10.23960/rp/v1i2.hal.41-46

Abstract

AbstractMathematical disposition is one of the most studied variables in offline learning. When online learning is carried out, this variable is often forgotten because of the difficulty of capturing this phenomenon in learning. This variable is needed to improve the quality of mathematics learning in class and student learning outcomes. This study aims to find the effect of students' mathematical disposition on learning outcomes in learning with the Instagram (IG) platform. The research was conducted in class XI IPA SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung using the causal method and the research population was 282 people. The variables in this study were students' mathematical disposition (X) and students' mathematics learning outcomes (Y). The data were obtained through a questionnaire instrument for students' mathematical dispositions and a mathematical test instrument. Hypothesis testing is done by a simple linear regression test using = 0.05. The regression equation is obtained = 35.811 + 0.026X with = 0.09. The significance value of mathematical disposition is 0.048 (????i???? ) so it can be concluded that there is an influence of mathematical disposition on the understanding of mathematical concepts of class XI students of SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung.Keywords: instagram; learning outcome; mathematical disposition AbstrakDisposisi matematika merupakan salah satu variabel yang banyak diteliti dalam pembelajaran offline. Saat pembelajaran online dilakukan, variabel ini banyak dilupakan karena sulitnya menangkap fenomena ini dalam pembelajaran. Padahal variabel ini sangat dibutuhkan untuk memerbaiki kualitas pembelajaran matematika di kelas dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan pengaruh disposisi matematika siswa terhadap hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran dengan platform Instagram (IG). Penelitian dilakukan di kelas XI IPA SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung dengan menggunakan metode kausal dan populasi penelitian 282 orang. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah disposisi matematika siswa (X) dan hasil belajar matematika siswa (Y). Data diperoleh melalui instrumen angket disposisi matematika siswa dan instrumen tes matematika. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji regresi linear sederhana dengan menggunakan ???? = 0,05. Diperoleh persamaan regresi ???? = 35,811 + 0,026X dengan ???? = 0,09.
