Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the role of students orientation activity in preparing the new students in SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Banyak. This research was quantitative research. The subject in this research were the new students of grade X in SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Banyak, amounted 256 with 51 students as the sample. The analysis used Chi Squared. The data collection technique used questionnaire. Based on the research, it can be seen that there are positive, significant relationship and highly category between the role of students orientation activity in preparing the new students, it means that the more programmatic and if the activities of orientation is well doing, then those activities will contribute for preparing the new students in terms of mentality, physical and academic.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan peranan kegiatan masa orientasi peserta didik (MOPD) dalam menyiapkan peserta didik baru di SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Banyak. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian ini peserta didik kelas X di SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Banyak berjumlah 256 dengan sampel 51 peserta didik. Analisis data menggunakan Chi Kuadrat, teknik pokok pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui terdapat hubungan yang positif, signifikan, dan kategori keeratan sedang antara peranan kegiatan masa orientasi peserta didik dalam menyiapkan peserta didik baru, artinya semakin terprogram dan terlaksana dengan baik kegiatan masa orientasi maka sangat berperan kegiatan tersebut untuk menyiapkan peserta didik baru dalam hal mental, fisik dan akademik.Kata kunci: masa orientasi peserta didik, peranan, peserta didik baru.
