Abstract

This research aimed at creating module physics with the topic waves phenomena that was relevant to be used at school that carry out a system of sks. The method used was research and development with phases: preliminary study (define), program designing (design) and development (develop). The module design was based on the result of the preliminary study. Then the program was judged by experts and pilot tested on thirty students of XI class of Senior High school 3 Jayapura, using one group pretest-posttest design. Then wider scale tryout using a non-equivalent group pretest-posttest quasi experimental design, and was conducted on sixty one students at the same school. Conclusions of the research were 1) characteristics of the module physics with the topic waves phenomena, among others, self instructional, self contained, stand alone, adaptive, and user friendly. 2) the application of physics module waves phenomena in the learning topics can significantly improve students mastery of concepts, 3) prominence of waves phenomena, among others, have a complete module structure, equipped with the learner worksheets, complete with mathematical equations, and smart solution. 4) a limitation of this module is not equipped with an exercise problems. Abstract

This study is a Research and Development (R&D) which aims to develop bilingual physics module and determine the effectiveness of the use of the module in the learning process. The phase included preliminary study (define), program designing (design) and development (develop). There were two trials used to determine the effectiveness of the modules. The first is limited trial (pre-experimental) with design “one group pretest-posttest control design” and the second is the extensive trial (quasi-experimental) using “nonequivalent group pretest-posttest design”. The experiment was conducted SMAN 3 Jayapura for grade X, for limited trial uses only grade X1(33 student), while for extensive trial used two parallel classes i.e., grade X2 as experimental class (31 student) and grade X3 as control class (32 student). At the experimental class learning used the module and the control class learning did not use the module. N-gain analysis and t-test were used to know the effectiveness of the module use. N-gain at the experiment class is 0,72 while N-gain at control class is 0,47. The result shows that learning using the module is more effective than learning without using the module. Specialty of modules generated in this study have a complete and systematic structure, the discussion has focused coverage and scalable, have a sample in accordance to local approaches, and completely with a worksheet. In the implementation of the field still found weaknesses, those are lack of sample questions and a glossary of English for science. Keywords: development, module, and effectiveness.

Abstract

In learning science, it is necessary to have a learning model that can integrate scientific literacy skills. This study aimed to develop discovery learning-based module to improve students’ scientific literacy. We used R D research that adapts the 4-D model device development procedure, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Product assessment was carried out after revision stage I by 3 media experts, 3 material experts, and 1 SMA YPPK Taruna Bakti teacher. To determine student responses, the product was tested for feasibility and readability on 5 X grade students of SMA YPPK Taruna Bakti through a limited trial. The product was revised and tested again through a broad trial on 16 students. The revision through experts’ comments and students’ initial responses has affected the readability, feasibility, and usability of the developed Newton’s Law module. There were no students who have high scientific literacy. Students who have low scientific literacy were 13 and students who have moderate scientific literacy were 3. Abstract

Sungai Kampwolker terindikasi sudah mengalami pencemaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pencemaran air di sungai Kampwolker menggunakan metode Pollution Index (PI). Hasil analisis mendapatkan nilai PI sebesar 6,470 artinya sungai Kampwolker telah tercemar sedang berdasarkan Klas II, sedangkan berdasarkan Klas I diperoleh nilai sebesar 7,534 juga tercemar sedang. Parameter – parameter yang tidak memenuhi baku mutu di sungai Kampwolker adalah DO, PO4, Zn, Cu, Hg, Fenol, Chlorine bebas, dan Pb dengan nilai konsentrasi berturut – turut 5,795 mg/L; 1,705 mg/L; 0,0665mg/L; 0,0245 mg/L; 0,08 mg/L; 13 µg/L; 0,285 mg/L; dan 0,078 mg/L.

Abstract

IMPROVING STUDENT'S CONCEPT UNDERSTANDING THROUGH SCIENCE LEARNING MODEL  BASED OF THE PHYSICS EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY-PROBLEM SOLVINGAbstractThis study aims to determine the increase in understanding the concept of science material and the ability to experiment in a virtual context of energy and its changes in students of SMPN 13 Jayapura. This science learning model, PhET-Problem Solving on students needs to obtain models and teaching materials that were more effectively used. The learning model is validated based on the suitability of indicators and material, legibility, and the suitability of assignments and exercises at an average value of 85.75, which means it is very feasible to use. Participants consisted of a control class and an experimental class. The pretest and post-test results were analyzed based on the N-gain test; the experimental class dominated the high and medium categories at 30% and 70%, conventional class 27% and 46%. The implementation science learning model in context the energy context and its changes based on PhET-PS shows an increase in concept understanding and virtual experimental abilities. Based on the independent sample statistical test, it shows that there is a significant difference between the control class and the experimental class (sig.2-tailed <0.5). Student responses to the PhET-PS learning model were very positive.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep materi IPA dan kemampuan eksperimen secara virtual  konteks energi dan perubahannya pada siswa SMPN 13 Jayapura. Model pembelajaran IPA ini berbasis PhET-Problem Solving sesuai kebutuhan  siswa guna mendapatkan model dan bahan ajar yang lebih efektif digunakan. Model pembelajaran divalidasi berdasarkan kesesuaian indikator dan materi, keterbacaan, dan kesesuain tugas- tugas dan latihan pada nilai rata-rata sebesar 85,75 artinya sangat layak digunakan. Partisipan terdiri dari kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil pretes dan postes dianalisis berdasarkan uji N-gain, pada kategori tinggi dan sedang didominasi kelas eksperimen yaitu 30% dan 70%, kelas konvensional 27% dan 46%.  Model pembelajaran IPA konteks energi dan perubahannya berbasis PhET-PS yang diimplementasikan menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan eksperimen virtual. Berdasarkan uji statistik independent sampel menunjukkan terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen (sig.2-tailed < 0,5). Tanggapan siswa terhadap model pembelajaran PhET-PS adalah sangat positif.

Abstract

Keberhasilan dalam pembelajaran adalah ketika peserta didik memiliki kemampuan memahami suatu konsep secara ilmiah dan penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan dan perbedaan penguasaan konsep antara peserta didik yang diajarkan dengan model PBL dan model kooperatif tipe STAD pada materi tekanan zat cair. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan quasi experimental. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 11 Jayapura dengan sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII E sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan menggunakan model PBL dan VIII F sebagai kelas kontrol yang diajarkan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil peningkatan penguasaan konsep menunjukkan nilai n-gain seluruh konsep pada kelas eksperimen sebesar  0,72 yang tergolong kategori penguasaan konsep tinggi dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,61 tergolong kategori hasil belajar sedang. Hasil uji t menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan penguasaan konsep yang signifikan antara peserta didik yang diajarkan menggunakan model PBL dan peserta didik yang diajarkan dengan model kooperatif tipe STAD yang ditunjukkan nilai signifikasi ???? < 0,05 yaitu sebesar 0,000, untuk seluruh konsep yaitu konsep tekanan hidrostatis, konsep Hukum Archimedes, dan konsep Hukum Pascal.

Abstract

A research has been carried out on the identification of Newton's Law misconceptions in FKIP UNCEN physics education students. This study aims to describe the extent of students' misconceptions on the subject of Newton's Law. This study uses a qualitative method with a diagnostic test design that is equipped with a Certainty of Response Index (CRI) model and interviews. The data source was chosen by purposive sampling. In this study, the data source was physics semester VI FKIP UNCEN students. The focus of this research is (1) identifying misconceptions that occur in physics education students at Cenderawasih University on the topic of Newton's Law. (2) describe the percentage of misconceptions of physics education students at Cenderawasih University on the topic of Newton's Law. The results showed that 35.7% of students experienced misconceptions. Students who experienced misconceptions in Newton's First Law concept were (46.7%), in Newton's Second Law concept (33.3%), and in Newton's third Law concepts (20.0%). From the results of the interview it can be concluded that the main source of the cause of the misconception comes from the students themselves.Keywords: Misconception, Newton's Law, CRI.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in Lake Sentani is that it has been contaminated by parameters of TSS, BOD, Pb, Cu, and DO respectively with valuesof 76 mg / L, 4.63 mg / L, 0.035 mg / L, 0.03 mg / L, and 5.72 mg / L because these parameters have exceeded the quality standard according to environmental regulations. This study aims to determine the assimilation capacity of TSS and PO4 parameters and analyze pollution control models in the Tlaga Ria sub-watershed. The research method used to determine the assimilation capacity is a linear regression equation and in analyzing the pollution control model the interpretative structural modeling method is used. The results showed that the TSS assimilation capacity value in Lake Sentani was -12,700 tons/month. The value of water quality in Lake Sentani is above the value of the assimilation capacity, this shows that Lake Sentani has been polluted by TSS parameters. Meanwhile, the value of PO4 parameter assimilation capacity is 44.36 tons/month and since 2016 Lake Sentani has been unable to conduct self purification. The key elements of the Sentani Lake pollution control constraints in the Tlaga Ria watershed are weak implementation of environmental regulations, differences in objectives among stakeholders, differences in objectives between administrative areas, weak support of business owners, conflict of interests, and weak enforcement of regulations.

Abstract

The absence of teaching materials with a local context is an obstacle to the implementation of science learning in areas where the mother tongue is still dominant in daily communication. Related to this reality, this study aims to develop and validate teaching materials in the context of Jayawijaya local wisdom that can be used to improve students' science process skills. The method used is the research and development (R&D) method by adopting the 4D (Four D) model developed by Thiagarajan and Melvyn (1974). The results of data analysis carried out by 5 validators stated that the teaching materials developed were very feasible for use in science learning. The content expert and media expert validators gave an average score of 93.83 (very good) and the practitioner validator assessed 97.12 (very good). The results of the validation show that the teaching materials in the context of local wisdom that are developed are feasible and can be used in science learners at school
