Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran percaya diri dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa calon guru matematika dalam pembelajaran berbasis budaya Islam. Sebagai subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Program studi Pendidikan Matematika semester 5 Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto.  Pengambilan data menggunakan tes dan angket dan wawancara Data dianalisis secara kualitatif.  Hasil penelitian diperoleh untuk kelompok prestasi atas, percaya diri tergambar pada keyakinan yang tinggi, tanggungjawab, berpikir rasional yang baik. Adapun kemampuan komunikasi tergambar pada penggunaan kalimat matematis, penggunaan lambing dan ilustrasi-ilustrasi yang saling mendukung.Untuk kelompok prestasi bawah, percaya diri tergambar pada keyakinan yang rendah, tanggungjawab, berpikir rasional yang relative kurang baik. Adapun kemampuan komunikasi tergambar pada penggunaan kalimat matematis yang kurang jelas, penggunaan lambang dan ilustrasi-ilustrasi yang tidak saling mendukung. Aktivitas budaya Islam pada kelompok prestasi atas dapat dikatakan baik, sedangkan pada kelompok prestasi bawah dapat dikatakan cukup. Kata Kunci:  Pembelajaran berbasis budaya Islam, Komunikasi Matematis, Percaya Diri Matematis, Mahasiswa Calon Guru,

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Learning of Mathematics at the moment seems not to develop students’ Mathematical thinking ability to the fullest. Therefore, it is necessary to find solutions to overcome these problems. The purpose of this research is to describe the ability of Mathematical creative thinking and reasoning; and to describe contribution of Islamic culture values to the ability of Mathematical creative thinking and reasoning. This research is qualitative research. The  subject is the 8th grade students in SMP (Sekolah Memengah Pertama or Junior High School) Al-Irsyad al-Islamiyyah Purwokerto in Central Java, Indonesia; and six students who were selected as respondent. The results research is: (1) the students’ ability of Mathematical creative thinking in the high academic achievement category can be said to be complete and very good, the students in the middle academic achievement category can be said to be fair good, deductive reasoning is dominant and creative thinking consist of fluency, originality, and elaboration. The students’ ability of Mathematical thinking in the low academic achievement category can be said to be poor, inductive reasoning is dominant and creative thinking only consist of originality component; and (2) the implementation of Islamic culture value gives a positive contribution to “akhlak” or character building and effectiveness of thinking ability. “Tahfizh” or recitation of Al-Qur’an enhances students’ Mathematical higher order thinking ability. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The mathematical communication is the basic ability which must be possessed by mathematics practitioners and users during teaching-learning process and assessing mathematics. By using Jigsaw technique as a part of cooperative learning, this technique considers students to work interdependently in a group of four to six but at the same time have individual responsibility. Every group is responsible for the mastery of the learning material. The aim of this research, however, was to examine the quality of mathematical communication ability between students who were treated with cooperative learning model and those with conventional model. The population of this study were second grade students of SMUN Banyumas in the academic year 2005/2006. Two classes were taken as sample, each of them had thirty students. Data were collected by means of communication ability test that had satistactory face and content validity and had reliability of 0.5335 (high reliability). Based on analisys result using t-test, it was concluded that the cooperative learning model gave better result to the students communication ability than the conventional one.KEY WORDS: jigsaw, cooperative learning model, conventional learning model, mathematical communication ability.  About the Authors: Drs. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul aplikasi penelitian berbasis penalaran statistik yang memenuhi kriteria kevalidan dan kepraktisan. Kevalidan ditunjukkan dari hasil validasi sedangkan kepraktisan dari hasil angket respon mahasiswa yang didukung oleh hasil tes kemampuan penalaran statistik. Data validasi dan angket respon kemudian dianalisis untuk ditentukan skor rata-ratanya. Sedangkan untuk hasil tes kemampuan penalaran statistik dilakukan uji Binomial dan One Samples t-Test berbantuan SPSS. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kevalidan dengan skor rata-rata 4,30. Untuk hasil angket respon memenuhi kriteria kepraktisan dengan skor rata-rata 4,22. Sedangkan hasil analisis data menggunakan uji Binomial menunjukkan bahwa 86% mahasiswa telah melampau batas ketuntasan yang ditentukan. Dan dengan menggunaan uji One-Sample t Test rataan kemampuan penalaran statistiknya  telah melampaui batas ketuntasan yang ditentukan. Hasil ini cukup mengembirakan walaupun masih ditemukan beberapa kelemahan berdasarkan hasil analisis pekerjaan tes mahasiswa. Kelemahan ini harapannya digunakan sebagai evaluasi untuk lebih mengoptimalkan pembelajaran menggunakan modul berbasis kemampuan penalaran statistik. The research aims to develop a statistical reasoning-based research application module that meets the criteria of validity and practicality. The research subjects are students who take research application courses. Research instruments use validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and statistical reasoning skills tests. Validity is shown from the validation results, while statistical reasoning ability tests support the practicality of the student response questionnaire results. Validation data and response polls are then analyzed to determine the average score. As for the results of statistical reasoning ability tests conducted, Binomial test and One-Sample t-Test assisted SPSS. Validation results showed that the modules developed met the validity criteria with an average score of 4.30. The results of the questionnaire response meet the criteria of practicality with an average score of 4.22. Meanwhile, data analysis using the Binomial test showed that 86% of students exceeded the specified completion limit. And by using the One Samples test, the average statistical reasoning ability has exceeded the specified completion limit. These results are pretty surprising, although there are still some weaknesses based on the analysis of student test work. This weakness expects to be used as an evaluation to optimize learning further using modules based on statistical reasoning capabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical problem solving in solving story problems in terms of the extrovert introvert personality types of SMP N 6 Rembang students on a two-variable linear equation system. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were students of class VIIIB SMP N 6 Rembang. Selection of Respondents used a purposive sampling technique consisting of three students for each personality type. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques with data presentation steps, data reduction and conclusions. The results showed that the problem-solving ability for (1) extroverted students: were able to  understand the problem and were able to explain again in their own language, were able to draw up a problem-solving plan, were able to carry out calculations and writing very neatly, were able to check the results obtained, ( 2) introverted  students: have been able to understand the problem but have not been able to explain again with their own language, have been able to draw up a problem solving plan and are able to do calculations even though the writing is still messy, in general do not re-check the answers he has obtained.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' courage in proposing arguments in class using inquiry learning using interactive media. The subjects in this study were class XI-PBS which consisted of 34 students. Data collection was carried out in 4 cycles. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in students 'courage in argumentation which was shown in the form of daring to ask questions, daring to explain, daring to refute friends' answers, daring to correct the mistakes of others. Besides that there is an increase in learning achievement, which is indicated by the average value that increases from cycle 1 to cycle 4.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a thematic learning model of art and culture usingvideo theatericalization of “Cowongan” for students in elementary schools. Thisresearch is a research development that aims to improve the ability to verbalize“Kidung Kasengsaraan Mangsa Ketiga” with the Banyumas dialect. The researchdesign uses R and D Data collection techniques in research gather information, productdesign, product validation, product testing, design revision, trial use, product revision,mass production, and dissemination. These data sources are interviews, observations,taking questionnaires, and tests. The sampling technique uses cluster sampling as thepopulation of SDN 4 Sokanegara students. The results of research in verbalizing thegeguritan include laval, intonation, placement of pauses, and expressions. Theobservations of researchers obtained data that the average posttest results that theexperimental class reached 90% of the expected score, while the average control classreached 75.75% of the expected score. The results of the effectiveness test in theresearch prove that the class that uses the product is better than the one that does notuse the product so that the ability to speak up using the Banyumas dialect is moreeffective.

Abstract

Abstract. The research aimed to see the effect problem posing to creative thinking skills and students achievement-assisted origami paper. Problem posing used to increase students skill not only to find knowledge accidentally but trough the effort to find relationship knowledge their learn. The result from relationship knowledge was question or answer from their filed self so they understand the way to solve the problem using origami paper to attract student’s attention and strengthen student understanding. Literacy study was used in this research. The data obtained were compiled, analyzed, and concluded to get conclusions about the effect of origami paper in the problem posing learning to creative thinking skill students. Based on the results of this research using literacy studies from several research journals and articles show that problem posing has effect of origami paper on creative thinking skills students and students achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between (1) social attitudes andlearning achievements of fifth grade elementary school students in the NagawiruCluster Gumelar District; (2) emotional intelligence with learning achievement of fifthgrade elementary school students; and (3) social attitudes and emotional intelligence offifth grade elementary school students.This research used a correlational research witha quantitative approach. The variables in this study are emotional intelligence, socialattitudes, and student achievement. The study population was all fifth grade students inelementary schools in the Nagawiru cluster. The number of samples taken was 75students by using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection techniquesusing questionnaires and documentary studies. The analysis technique used is theproduct moment correlation technique and multiple regression. The results showed that(1) there was a positive and significant relationship between social attitudes with classV student achievement Whereas female students have a positive and significantrelationship between social attitudes and learning achievements ; (2) there a positiveand significant relationship between emotional intelligence and student achievemenespecially females; and (3) there is a positive and significant relationship betweensocial attitudes and emotional intelligence. Meanwhile, both male and female studentshave social attitudes with emotional intelligence with low and moderate categories.

Abstract

This research purpose to knowing affected of: 1) crosswords puzzle learning to learn motivation at third class in Harapan Umat Elementary School IT Purbalingga, 2) crosswords puzzle learning to learn result in third class. The research method was an experiment, with two group treatments that were the control group and experiment group. Group control was 3C class and the experiment group was 3F class. Data using in this research were primary and secondary data. And then data be analyzed by the Independent Sample t-test. Result of the research has shown: 1) crosswords puzzle learning significant affected to learning motivation at third class in Harapan Umat Elementary School IT Purbalingga; and  2) crosswords puzzle learning affected to learning result at third class
