Abstract

Differential equity is one of the applied subjects needed to solve the problem in real situation, not only in Mathematics but also in engineering, biology, physics, chemistry, medics, psychology economy and others. However, the existing approach for teaching differential equity tends to be procedural. For this reason, the class of differential equity becomes not meaningful for students. Contextual teaching is one of the approach focuses on the students’ participation and process to find relation between material taught and real life. Through self discovery, it is expected that students experience meaningful learning. This research is the developing stage research by using contextual approach. The activities of students in contextual learning are elaborated in this research. The research aims at finding meaningful learning is not limited for procedural and analysis.

Abstract

Differential equations is a branch of mathematics which is closely related to mathematical modeling that arises in real-world problems. Problem solving ability is an essential component to solve contextual problem of differential equations properly. The purposes of this study are to describe contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model in differential equations course, to improve lecturers’ abilities in implementing CTL, and to improve students’ problem solving ability in differential equations. The study was conducted in the fifth semester of 2015/2016 academic year with 34 students of mathematics education Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta as participants. The CTL model was applied by lesson study approach which involved three stages namely plan, do, and see in each cycle. This research was conducted in four cycles. The study results found that discovery-based CTL could be applied in differential equations course. The lecturer abilities to design discovery-based contextual learning plan, to present real-world problem in learning process, to design learning strategy and assessment instruments of problem solving improved significantly. Problem solving ability of students also improved during teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Guru yang profesional adalah salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Kemampuan merancang perangkat pembelajaran yang berkualitas menunjukkan kesiapan guru dalam mengajar. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru matematika SMA/SMK Muhamamadiyah Klaten dalam mengembangkan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP)  melalui pendekatan lesson study.Metode pelaksanaan melalui Sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan: (1) ada peningkatan kemampuan guru-guru matematika di SMA/SMK Muhammadiyah Klaten dalam hal mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis lesson study(2) Respon peserta terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan sangat baik.

Abstract

Kejujuran merupakan salah satu karakter yang penting ditanamkan semenjak dini pada siswa. Melalui kejujuran  diharapkan bisa dihasilkan siswa yang cerdas tidak hanya secara intelektual, namun juga cerdas secara moral. Program ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan karakter kejujuran melalui kantin anti korupsi pada siswa SD/MI Ngargorejo, Ngemplak, Boyolali. Metode pelaksanaan program melalui penyuluhan dan pendampingan. Hasil pelaksanaan program menunjukkan bahwa nilai nilai karakter kejujuran siswa yang diinternalisasikan dalam kantin anti korupsi di SD/ MI Ngargorejo, Ngemplak, Boyolali telah tertanamkan dengan baik. Siswa sudah  menunjukkan sikap jujur, disiplin dan mandiri dalam program kantin anti korupsi. Keberadaan kantin anti korupsi dengan teknik pelayanan self-service system dapat dijadikan sebagai media yang baik dalam penanaman karakter kejujuran siswa karena bisa melahirkan sikap dan tindakan siswa yang positif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri bidang berdasarkan langkah Polya ditinjau dari dominan otak kiri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, dan mengambil dua subjek dari kelas 1E Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, tes, dan wawancara. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi teknik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa sebagai berikut: (1) Memahami masalah: Kedua mahasiswa dominan otak kiri mampu memahami permasalahan pada seluruh nomor. (2) Merencanakan: Kedua mahasiswa dominan otak kiri mampu merencanakan seluruh nomor. (3) Melaksanakan: Kedua mahasiswa dominan otak kiri tidak mampu melaksanakan soal nomor satu tetapi mampu melaksanakan soal nomor dua. (4) Melihat kembali: Salah satu mahasiswa dominan otak kiri tidak melihat kembali pada soal nomor satu tetapi melihat kembali pada soal nomor dua. Sedangkan mahasiswa dominan otak kiri yang lain tidak melihat kembali seluruh nomor.

Abstract

Tantangan yang dihadapi para siswa dalam pembelajaran di abad 21 semakin kompleks. Mereka perlu dibekali dengan kemampuan-kemampuan yang tidak hanya sekedar ingatan dan pemahaman saja, namun juga perlu dibekali dengan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher Order Thinking Skills / HOTS). Guru merupakan agen pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia. Berbagai permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru-guru matematika SMP Muhammadiyah di Kabupaten Klaten adalah: 1) Siswa masih jarang berlatih menyelesaikan soal-soal HOTS dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah, 2) Guru-guru matematika masih kesulitan dalam mengembangkan soal-soal yang berbasis HOTS, 3) Masih minimnya kegiatan pelatihan penyusunan soal HOTS bagi guru-guru matematika tingkat SMP Muhammadiyah Klaten. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melatih guru-guru matematika SMP Muhammadiyah di Kabupaten Klaten dalam penyusunan soal-soal matematika yang berbasis HOTS. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui dua tahap, tahap persiapan dan tahap pelaksanaan. Pada tahap persiapan, perwakilan tim pengabdian beserta prodi melakukan koordinasi dengan pengurus PDM kabupaten Klaten untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan, penetapan solusi masalah, penetapan kelompok sasaran, dan penentuan waktu serta tempat pelaksanaan kegiatan. Tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk model ceramah, diskusi, dan penugasan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini telah terlaksana dengan baik, ada peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap materi penyusunan soal-soal matematika berbasis HOTS. Respon peserta terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan sangat bagus, peserta berharap kegiatan semacam ini bisa teragendakan kembali untuk waktu-waktu yang akan datang.
