Abstract

This experiment aimed to determine growth rate of farm swamp eel under various food supply. The experiment used Completely Random Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments were various food supply i.e: earthworms, snails, floating pellets and sinking pellets. The results showed that various foods gave significant difference on the growth rate of the eel in term of absolute weight, daily growth, food conversionand food efficiency. There were nosignificant difference on absolute length and survival rate of the eel. The highest value of the absolute weight and daily growth during 60 days feeding was found at feeding earthworm. The highest value of food efficiency and food conversion was found at feeding sinking pellets. Keyword: swamp eel, physiology, growth, food.

Abstract

This research was carried out.in January-June 2013. This research aimed to analyze some ecological aspects (habitat, body length, distribution, growth pattern) in Kulari fish (Lobocheilos falcifer C.V : Cyprinidae) at Batang Kuranji river, Padang. This studied use survey method with stratified random sampling technique (at three locations) to collected samples. The result of this study showed that water temperature has 26,550C; pH 5,6; O2 5,78 mg/l; BOD5 0,79mg/l; CO2 1,81 mg/l; TSS 0, 51; depth 40.88 cm, and current velocity 0.50 m/s. The growth patterns of kulari fish showed that male fishes were in negative allometric and female fishes were in isometric. Abstract

Community service activities is carried out with the purpose of waste utilization water spinach, Ipomoea aquatica Forks, as a raw material alternative to artificial feed and improve the knowledge and skills of the fish farmers (the community) Village Koto Tangah in the business of making the feed / pellets fish in West Sumatra. The method used in this activity are (1) Lectures, and (2) Demonstration of making flour from waste water spinach and manufacture pellets / alternative fish feed with water spinach flour mixture. From the results of this service activities found that the knowledge and skills of Sawah Laweh farmer groups and Batang Kandis Jaya farmer groups fishing in Sungai Bangek Village Kelurahan Balai Gadang, Koto Tangah District, Padang, before being implemented service activities is still very low. However, the motivation or desire of the community farmer groups partners to undertake fish farming is huge. This can be seen from the wishes of the farmer groups partners to master the technology of waste utilization water spinach, Ipomoea aquatica Forks, as a raw material alternative to artificial feed are relatively high. Further results of this public service activities to increase knowledge and skills of the community in the development of cultured technology and alternative fish feed so that farming activities can run well in both areas partners.

Abstract

Kegiatan IPTEKS berbasis dosen & masyarakat (IbDM) ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk diseminasi teknologi budidaya ikan Nila Nirwana secara intensif dalam upaya meningkatkan produktivitas perikanan di Kelurahan Limau Manis, Kecamatan Pauh, Kota Padang dan meningkatkan pengetahuan serta keterampilan petani ikan (masyarakat) Kelurahan Koto Tangah dalam bidang usaha pemeliharaan ikan Nila Nirwana di Sumatera Barat, sehingga diharapkan mereka dapat melakukan pemeliharaan dengan cara/teknik yang baik dan ramah lingkungan. Selain itu kegiatan IbDM ini juga diharapakan mampu mengurangi biaya operasional dalam pemeliharaan ikan Nila Nirwana dan pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan pendapatan para petani (masyarakat) Kelurahan Limau Manis melalui pengembangan usaha budidaya ikan yang berkelanjutan. Untuk mencapai hasil diseminasi teknologi yang optimal maka sasaran utama IbDM di Kecamatan Pauh ini adalah kelompok tani ikan dan para pembina/pemuka masyarakat Kelurahan Limau Manis yang diharapkan mampu memberikan motivasi kepada petani untuk mensosialisasikan metoda pembuatan pakan formula alternatif untuk pengembangan budidaya ikan Nila Nirwana secara intensif dan ramah lingkungan. Metoda yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah (1) Penyuluhan (ceramah), dengan materi utama : (a) memberikan pengetahuan tentang berbagai macam bahan baku yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk makanan ikan, (b) memberikan pengetahuan tentang penyusunan formula/komposisi makanan buatan, (c) memberikan pengetahuan tentang proses pembuatan makanan buatan (d) menambah pengetahuan masyarakat tentang cara menyimpan pelet yang baik agar lebih tahan lama dan (e) pemberian materi tentang pengujian mutu pakan, baik secara fisika, kimia dan biologis; dan (2) Peragaan pembuatan pakan pelet alternatif untuk budidaya ikan Nila Nirwana secara intensif. Dari hasil kegiatan IbDM ini didapatkan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok tani Kelurahan Limau Manis Kec. Pauh, Padang sebelum dilaksanakan kegiatan IbDM ini masih sangat rendah. Namun demikian motivasi atau keinginan masyarakat kelompok tani mitra IbDM untuk melakukan usaha budidaya atau pemeliharaan ikan sangat besar. Hal ini terlihat dari keinginan masyarakat kelompok tani mitra IbDM untuk menguasai teknologi pembuatan pakan ikan dari hasil limbah daun dan batang talas yang diproses menjadi tepung relatif cukup tinggi. Lebih jauh dari hasil kegiatan IbDM pada masyarakat ini dapat menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mencari pakan alternatif untuk pakan ikan sehingga kegiatan budidaya dapat berjalan dengan baik di daerah mitra IbDM. Agar kegiatan budidaya berjalan dengan baik di daerah mitra IbDM perlu dilakukan kegiatan IbDM secara berkelanjutan tentang teknik pembuatan pelet ikan alternatif dan teknik pemeliharaan ikan yang efisien dan efektif. Disamping itu perlu dukungan dana atau pemberian kredit oleh pihak yang berwenang kepada masyarakat atau petani ikan untuk modal pengembangan usahanya.

Abstract

Fish cultivators generally experience difficulties providing quality artificial feed (pellets) due to a lack of knowledge and skills in processing technology and making alternative feeds. Besides that, the costs incurred for feed procurement are relatively large, reaching 70 - 80% of the total production costs. However, the provision of feed is often an obstacle because, in addition to the increasingly high price, the quality of available feed does not always match the nutritional needs needed by Fish. The provision of quality feed for intensively cultivated tilapia dramatically affects the resulting growth and productivity. The higher the quality of the feed, the production will also increase. One of the technologies that can be applied to overcome this problem is the manufacture of alternative formulated diets using local raw materials. The method used in this service activity is the transfer of knowledge presented in the socialization activities in the form of 1) introduction to the types of alternative fish feed ingredients sourced from the area, (2) preparation of artificial tilapia feed formulations, (3) manufacturing technology artificial feed (pellets) and 4) monitoring and assistance. The socialization was carried out in the form of a lecture and was followed by a question and answer session. The results of farmer activities recognize the types of local feed that can be used as fish feed, know the preparation of feed formulations, and alternative artificial feed manufacturing technologies. The knowledge and skills possessed by fish cultivators are expected to overcome the difficulties of fish farmers in providing feed so that fish production and cultivation business increase.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi ini sangat pesat, salah satunya adalah teknologi di bidang penggerak mula. Salah satu jenis pengerak mula yang banyak digunakan masyarakat adalah motor bakar atau biasa disebut dengan dunia otomotif. Secara umum dunia otomotif saat ini sangat beragam penerapannya baik itu digunakan sebagai alat transportasi, dan bidang olahraga. Secara umum untuk penerapan dalam bidang olah raga, motor bakar digunakan untuk penggerak pada kendaraan, baik itu sepeda motor ataupun mobil. Dari mobil itu sendiri terdapat berbagai macam jenis seperti, mobil Formula One, mobil Rally, Gokart, dan lain-lain. Rantai dan sproket merupakan salah satu bagian penting pada mobil yang harus mempunyai kontruksi kuat untuk tegangan yang terjadi saat akselerasi maupun deakselerasi akibat engine brake. Semua beban dalam kendaraan baik itu penumpang, mesin, sistem kemudi, dan segala peralatan kenyamanan semuanya diletakan di atas rangka kemudian rantai berperan untuk memberikan gaya putar pada poros sehingga roda mampu berputar. Oleh karena itu setiap perancangan  rangka harus mampu untuk menahan semua gaya torsi mesin dan beban dari kendaraanya.Dari hasil analisa perancangan sprocket dan rantai  yang dilakukan pada Gokart Bensin 4 Tak Sistem FI 125 CC Universitas Muhammdiyah Tangerang. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah di lakukan di dapatkan perencanaan transmisi dengan limit percepatan  dan torsi roda = 88,3872 Nm  didapatkan diameter gear sprocket belakang 209.5 mm dan gear sprocket depan  63,3mm sehingga daya mesin yang dibutuhkan supaya gokart mampu untuk berjalan adalah 3,912 kW, mesin dengan daya 7,4 kW > 3,912 kW maka mesin mampu untuk menjalankan gokart,diperoleh jenis rantai yang sesuai dengan kendaraan gokart yaitu Sproket yang digunakan no 40 dan pitch rantai dengan ukuran 12,7 mm dan dengan jumlah mata rantai 46. Kata kunci: gokart prototype, analisa perangcangan sprocket dan  rantai, daya.

Abstract

Energi merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting. Potensi tenaga air saat ini merupakan solusi dari krisis energi saat ini dan dimasa depan. Potensi air yang dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan listrik dapat digunakan berulang-ulang tanpa harus diperbaiki oleh alam sebelumnya. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikrohidro (PLTMH) memanfaatkan kecepatan aliran dan debit air sebagai tenaga utama dalam menghasilkan listrik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kinerja turbin Ossberger skala laboratorium. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen, dengan pengambilan data secara langsung berdasarkan pengujian. Hasil Penelitian ini menghasilkan debit 0,00175 /s dengan head 2 m sehingga Turbin Ossberger yang dibuat menhasilkan putaran sebesar 410 rpm. Daya maksimal yang dihasilkan dapat mencapai 22.14 Watt, dan kondisi kerja dari turbin Ossberger secara maksimal terjadi ketika bukaan katup sebesar 90° dengan efisiensi sebesar 62,7%.

Abstract

This community service activities conducted for the purpose of dissemination of biotechnology utilization of water hyacinth, Eichornia crassipes, as one of the raw materials alternative artificial feed and increasing their knowledge and skills of fish farmers (public) Koto Tangah Village in the business of making the pellets fish in West Sumatra, so hopefully they can do maintenance in a manner / good technique and environmentally friendly. In addition, these service activities are also expected to be able to reduce operating costs in the maintenance of fish and could ultimately increase the income of farmers village of Koto Tangah through the development of sustainable fish farming. To achieve optimal results, the community service that the main target of community service in the District of Koto Tangah this is a fish farmer groups and the coaches / leaders Bangek River villagers are expected to be able to motivate the farmers to promote alternative methods of making artificial feed for the development of freshwater fish farming environmentally friendly. The method used in this activity are (1) Lecture, the main material: (a) provide knowledge about a wide range of raw materials that can be used to feed the fish, (b) provide knowledge about the preparation of formula / artificial food composition, (c) provide knowledge about the process of making artificial food (d) increase the public's knowledge about how to save a good pellet to be more durable and (e) the provision of quality testing of feed materials, whether physical, chemical and biological; and (2) Demonstration of making fermented hyacinth and manufacture of pellets / fish feed alternative to the fermentation mixture of water hyacinth. The results of this IbM service activities found that the knowledge and skills of Sawah Laweh farmer groups and Batang Kandis Jaya farmer groups fishing in Sungai Bangek Village Kelurahan Balai Gadang, Koto Tangah District, Padang, before being implemented IbM service activities is still very low. However, the motivation or desire IbM partner community farmer groups to undertake the cultivation or maintenance of very large fish. It is apparent from the community farmer groups IbM partners to master the manufacturing technology of fermented fish feed water hyacinth relatively high. Furthermore, the results of these community service activities to increase knowledge and skills of the community in the search for alternative feed for aquaculture fish feed that can work well in both areas IbM partners. In order for farming activities run well in both areas IbM partners necessary to service activities on an ongoing basis about the alternative technique of making fish pellets and fish maintenance techniques that efficiently and effectively. Besides, it is necessary to support the provision of funds or credit by the authorities to the public or the fish farmers to capital development efforts.

Abstract

One of the material in craft subjects is craft. The problem is the craft teachers in Junior High School in Solok are generally not from a craft / art education background. Even though one of the material in craft subjects is craft. For teachers who do not have art and craft education backgrounds, it is difficult to carry out craft learning, because they do not master the material. These problems need to be solved. The solution offered to solve the above priority problems is to improve the teacher’s ability by carrying out training activities for them. This activity was done by counseling methods and training in making crafts and designing learning strategies. The results of this activity are; 1) generally, the teachers are able to make good crafts, especially making makrame and woven crafts and 2) generally, the teachers are able to design learning strategies well.
