Abstract

University can generate a significant impact to environment due to the high usage of materials, high usage of water, high consumption of energy, massive waste, extensive transportation, and extensive development of buildings and facilities. Thus, sustainable campus is become an important issue to university. This paper evaluates the implementation of sustainable campus in Andalas University using UI GreenMetric. The metric consists of six criteria divided into 39 indicators. A questionnaire is then designed and a total of 30 experts are consulted to determine the implementation level of sustainable campus. The results indicated setting and infrastructure as the most widely implemented criterion of sustainable campus in Andalas University. Otherwise, transportation is suggested as the least implemented criterion. The suggestions are then proposed to improve the transportation criterion consisting of improving the facilities and infrastructure of campus transportation, improving the schedule of campus bus, developing the car polling program, limiting the parking area, restricting the motor vehicle, promoting the cycling and walking campaign, and developing the environmentally sound transportation. It hoped the proposed suggestions can assist the university to continously improve the sustainable campus performance.Keywords: Sustainable Campus, Transportation, UI GreenMetric, UniversityABSTRAKUniversitas dapat menghasilkan dampak yang signifikan terhadap lingkungan karena tingginya penggunaan bahan, penggunaan air yang tinggi, konsumsi energi yang tinggi, limbah yang masif, transportasi yang ekstensif, dan pengembangan bangunan dan fasilitas yang ekstensif. Sehingga kampus berkelanjutan menjadi isu penting bagi universitas. Makalah ini mengevaluasi implementasi kampus berkelanjutan di Universitas Andalas menggunakan UI GreenMetric. Ukuran yang digunakan terdiri atas enam kriteria yang terbagi menjadi 39 indikator. Kuesioner kemudian dirancang dan konsultasi terhadap 30 pakar dilakukan untuk menentukan tingkat implementasi kampus berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penataan dan infrastruktur sebagai kriteria kampus berkelanjutan yang paling banyak diterapkan di Universitas Andalas. Sebaliknya, transportasi diperoleh sebagai kriteria yang paling rendah diterapkan. Usulan perbaikan kemudian dirancang untuk meningkatkan kriteria transportasi yang terdiri atas meningkatkan fasilitas dan infrastruktur transportasi kampus, meningkatkan jadwal bus kampus, mengembangkan program polling car, membatasi area parkir, membatasi kendaraan bermotor, mempromosikan kampanye bersepeda dan berjalan kaki, dan mengembangkan transportasi yang ramah lingkungan. Usulan tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu universitas untuk terus meningkatkan kinerja kampus yang berkelanjutan.Kata kunci: Kampus berkelanjutan, transportasi, UI GreenMetric, universitas

Abstract

Construction project implementation process is often found inefficiency and problems at every stage of the construction process. Inefficiencies are caused because construction projects have high levels of fragmentation. The high level of fragmentation cannot be separated from the complexity and many work items on construction projects. To reduce the problem of inefficiencies in the implementation of construction projects required good supply chain management or better known as supply chain management (SCM) on construction projects. Therefore it is necessary to study the management of SCM in the construction project to reduce the inefficiency that occurred. SCM management of construction projects is done by designing SCM performance measurement systems in construction projects. This performance measurement system produces indicators that are combined with the Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) method. So it helps in performing SCM performance measurement on construction projects. From the design results, obtained 14 SCM performance indicators on construction projects. The performance indicators are then used to perform SCM performance measurement of cement plant construction projects. From the measurement results obtained SCM performance value of 41 from a scale of 100. This shows the performance of SCM on construction projects for the construction of the cement plant is at a marginal level.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the egg-laying chicken feeder that was designed at egg-laying chicken farm small and medium enterprise (SME). The main reason of this tool design was due to the worker’s complain of feeling pain during the feeding process. Evaluation was performed based on Nordic Body Map questionnaire result, physiological workload, and NIOSH lifting equation calculation. The observed work ranged from the feed filling in the basket until all feeds were distributed. The results showed that the %CVL was in the range of 18%-30% and the energy consumption of workers was in the range of 1.24-3.00 Kcal/minute. Thus, physiologically, the work activities carried out by the feed workers were categorized as very light workload. Meanwhile, evaluation using Lifting Index (LI) methods in the process of feeding showed the LI value ranged from 0.9-1, therefore this activity is safe to perform manually. Based on the prototype evaluation on the feeding aid, the process of feeding activities was more effective 1.5 times faster than the old tools. In addition, with the use of this new tool, the feeding process was easier to adjust the dose each time.

Abstract

Kondisi geografis Kelurahan Sungai Pisang yang terletak di pinggiran pantai dan tidak terlalu jauh dari potensi wisata pulau yang terkenal di Sumatera Barat menjadi peluang bagi masyarakat Sungai Pisang khususnya nelayan biduk untuk meningkatan taraf hidupnya. Namun kenyataannya, pihak luar yang berada di daerah Bungus justru yang lebih memanfaatkan peluang tersebut karena lokasinya yang dekat dengan pusat kota. Wisatawan yang ramai hanya bisa dilihat dari jauh oleh nelayan biduk Sungai Pisang ini. Kebanyakan wisatawan lebih memilih untuk menggunakan jasa Tour and Travel dari Bungus. Nelayan biduk hanya membawa sedikit wisatawan saja menuju wisata pulau walaupun harga yang ditawarkan jauh lebih murah. Berdasarkan analisis situasi, permasalahan tersebut terjadi karena kurangnya pengetahuan nelayan biduk tentang strategi pemasaran produk yang efektif. Selain itu, biduk yang digunakan masih sangat sederhana, belum memperhatikan aspek keselamatan dan kenyamanan penupang. Sejauh ini belum adanya sarana pemasaran produk untuk mempromosikan jasa transportasi biduk wisata pulau dari nelayan biduk di Sungai Pisang secara luas. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan penjelasan kepada nelayan biduk mengenai strategi pemasaran produk yang efektif untuk meningkatkan jumlah wisatawan pengguna biduk wisata pulau, merancang desain biduk yang menarik dan melengkapi biduk dengan fasilitas keselamatan dan kenyamanan penumpang untuk meningkatkan kepuasan wisatawan terhadap jasa transportasi biduk, merancang dan membuat media promosi berupa website pemasaran biduk yang dihubungkan dengan berbagai media sosial untuk memperkenalkan secara luas biduk wisata pulau di Sungai Pisang, dan memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada nelayan biduk dalam menggunakan dan mengelola website sehingga dapat digunakan secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Nowadays, the development of industry is increasing very rapidly. It can be known as the high competition between companies. Not only large and international scaled companies, small and medium-sized companies are also facing the same challenges in the global competition. Therefore, the companies need to conduct a quality control to maintain the quality of products produced and to achieve the conformance to specifications of product that has standardized by the company policies in order to improve the customer satisfaction. PT Amanah Insanillahia is a company involved in the bottled water industry. Based on the preliminary study, it shown the quality control only conducted to check the number of defective products produced without further evaluation and analysis. Therefore, there is a need to analyze the data of defective products produced and evaluate the results. The purpose of this study is to analyze the nonconformity product of the bottled water 600 ml brand PRIM-A. The p-chart is used in this research to analyze the number of defective products. Then, the fishbone diagram is used to analyze the causes of defective products. The results show that there is no data out of the control limits and mostly the data near in the central line of the p-chart. Using the fishbone diagram, it concluded that factors of man, machines, materials, methods, and environment are the causes of nonconformity products of the bottled water 600 ml brand PRIM-A. It is hoped this study will beneficial for the company to improve the product quality as well as to increase the customer satisfaction.

Abstract

The geographical condition of Sungai Pisang Village located on the coastal fringe and not too far from the famous island tourism which potential in West Sumatera becomes an opportunity for the people of Sungai Pisang, especially the fishermen to increase their standard of living. But in reality, the outsiders in the Bungus area are more likely to take advantage of the opportunity because of their location close to the city center. The tourists can only be seen from afar by biduk fishermen of Sungai Pisang. Most tourists prefer to use Tour and Travel services from Bungus area. Biduk fishermen are only bringing few tourists to the island tour even though the price offered is much cheaper. Based on preliminary study, there are problems such as the lack of knowledge of the fisherman on the effective product marketing strategy. So far, there are no marketing tools to promote the transportation services of biduk fisherman to the island tourism in the Sungai Pisang broadly. Therefore, it is necessary to design a marketing information system for island tourism biduk.  The marketing information system is a mobile web-based designed using PHP programming language and supported by the MySQL database. The information marketing system is expected to increase the number of tourists who use the island tourism biduk as an effort to increase the sustainable fishermen's economy.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of service quality, organization culture and reputation on student satisfaction. This study uses 397 data collected from undergraduate students of Andalas University. The data is analyzed using structural equation modeling with SmartPLS 3.0, because of its ability to evaluate the measurement as well as the structural model. The results of this study show that service quality, organization culture and reputation significantly affect the student satisfaction. It is also found that service quality has the highest effect on student satisfaction, which means that increasing Andalas University service quality would significantly improve the satisfaction of its students. The results of this study also show that the organization culture nor reputation do not have moderating effect on the relationship between service quality and student satisfaction. This finding implies that organization culture nor reputation would not strengthen nor weaken the relationship between service quality and student satisfaction. Based on the findings, this study proposes several recommendations for University of Andalas to improve the satisfaction of its students.

Abstract

Quality is an important thing to be discussed anywhere and anytime. Service quality is a determining factor in satisfying customers to achieve economic improvement. Based on previous research, it was found that there is a relationship between organizational culture and customer satisfaction. The quality culture in a laboratory organization reflects the overall organizational culture. This is in line with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 which requires the application of a quality culture in a calibration laboratory. Price is also an element that needs to be analyzed to achieve customer satisfaction in a calibration laboratory. This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality on customer satisfaction by moderating organizational culture and prices in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory in the province of West Sumatra. The data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 93 respondents from government agencies and private companies in West Sumatra. Then, the data was processed using the method of Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results of this study indicate that service quality, organizational culture, and price have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction in a calibration laboratory. Moderation of organizational culture and price have no significant effect on the relationship of service quality to customer satisfaction in a calibration laboratory.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSmall and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are an industrial sector that greatly contribute to economic development in Indonesia. SMEs contributes positively to the increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and absorption of productive labor. Therefore, SMEs are required to be able to achieve continuous performance improvement. Improving the performance of SMEs is also expected to be able to contribute to sustainable development. Sustainability then becomes a very important issue for the performance of SMEs. The performance evaluation of SMEs needs to be improved by considering the sustainability aspects. This study aims to design a conceptual model of the effect of sustainability to the performance of SMEs in West Sumatra. Indicators of sustainability and performance of SMEs were identified from literature study. Then, conducted the determination of indicators that are relevant to SMEs in West Sumatra and then sort the indicators based on terminology similarities. The results of the identification stage are 34 indicators of sustainability which are divided into three aspects and nine factors. Sustainability indicators consist of 16 indicators of social aspect, 11 indicators of environmental aspect, and 7 indicators of economic aspect. The next step is the validation of sustainability indicators by experts from practitioners, academics, and government. The validation results stated that all indicators are important and relevant to SMEs in West Sumatra. Then the conceptual model of the effect of sustainability to performance of SMEs is developed. This conceptual model is expected to be able to help SMEs in improving performance and competitiveness.Keywords: indicators, small and medium industry, sustainability, performance appraisal ABSTRAK Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) adalah sektor industri yang sangat berkontribusi terhadap pembangunan ekonomi di Indonesia. UKM berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan Produk Domestik Bruto (PDB) dan penyerapan tenaga kerja produktif. Oleh karena itu, UKM dituntut untuk dapat mencapai peningkatan kinerja yang berkelanjutan. Peningkatan kinerja UKM juga diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada pembangunan berkelanjutan. Keberlanjutan kemudian menjadi masalah yang sangat penting bagi kinerja UKM. Evaluasi kinerja UKM perlu ditingkatkan dengan mempertimbangkan aspek keberlanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang model konseptual pengaruh keberlanjutan terhadap kinerja UKM di Sumatera Barat. Indikator keberlanjutan dan kinerja UKM diidentifikasi dari studi literatur. Kemudian, dilakukan penentuan indikator yang relevan dengan UKM di Sumatera Barat dan kemudian mengurutkan indikator berdasarkan kesamaan terminologi. Hasil tahap identifikasi adalah 34 indikator keberlanjutan yang dibagi menjadi tiga aspek dan sembilan faktor. Indikator keberlanjutan terdiri dari 16 indikator aspek sosial, 11 indikator aspek lingkungan, dan 7 indikator aspek ekonomi. Langkah selanjutnya adalah validasi indikator keberlanjutan oleh para ahli dari praktisi, akademisi, dan pemerintah. Hasil validasi menyatakan bahwa semua indikator penting dan relevan bagi UKM di Sumatera Barat. Kemudian model konseptual efek keberlanjutan terhadap kinerja UKM dikembangkan. Abstract

Each company will seek to improve performance in order to obtain the optimal results and customer satisfaction. One of the factors that affect the performance of the company is the supplier or vendor, which acts as a supplier of the operational needs of the company consisting of raw materials and spare parts manufacturing equipment. The existence of suppliers is crucial for the production process and the product to be produced. Therefore, it is necessary to a proper selection of suppliers so as to eliminate all risks that would result in losses for the company. PT. Semen Padang is one of the companies involved in the cement industry is one of the members of PT. Cement Indonesia as the Holding Company. Until now both PT. Semen Padang and PT. Cement Indonesia does not have yet a standard method in the selection of suppliers for the procurement process of goods and services. This study aims to design the proposed indicator in the evaluation of suppliers to determine the bidder's list on a tender for the procurement of services in PT. Semen Padang. Based on the literature study, it obtained six criteria i.e: quality, delivery, performance history, price, technical capability, and procedural compliance, which are divided into 13 indicators of performance evaluation. These indicators will be validated by the cement industry. Future studies will design a model of evaluation of suppliers using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the bidder's list on a tender for the procurement of services in PT. Semen Padang.
