Abstract

Computational methods have been used extensively to solve problems in the education sector. This paper aims to explore the computational method's recent implementation in solving global Vocational education and training (VET) problems. The study used a systematic literature review to answer specific research questions by identifying, assessing, and interpreting all available research shreds of evidence. The result shows that researchers use the computational method to predict various cases in VET. The most popular methods are ANN and Naïve Bayes. It has significant potential to develop because VET has a very complex problem of (a) curriculum, (b) apprenticeship, (c) matching labor market, and (d) attracting enrollment. In the future, academics may have broad overviews of the use of the computational method in VET. A computer scientist may use this study to find more efficient and intelligent solutions for VET issues.

Abstract

Stemming is the process of finding a basic word with several stages of affix removal. The main reason for stemming is to check spelling and machine translation and to support the effectiveness of the retrieval process. This study uses the Nazief and Adriani algorithm for stemming Javanese-influenced words. The first step taken is data collection and making a basic word dictionary. Then do the stemming process. Before stemming, modifications are made to the rules. The rules of the Nazief and Adriani algorithm, which are based on the morphology rules of the Indonesian language, are modified to suit the morphological rules of the Javanese language. Of the 366 words that were tested, it produced 351 correct basic words and 15 basic words that experienced errors. The results show that this algorithm can be used for stemming Javanese with an accuracy value of 95.9%.

Abstract

This study aims to recognize the dominant soft skills factors that influence the readiness of vocational education graduates to enter the job market in the field of construction. The method used is survey study including samples that consisted of 40 workers graduated from State University of Medan civil engineering diploma 3. The instruments used were the soft skills and the competence readiness questionnaire with reliability coefficients of 0.93 and 0.98. Furthermore, the multiple regression analysis techniques is used to test the hypothesis. The results shows that the soft skills readiness influencing 74% the vocational education skills readiness in entering the job market in construction. Furthermore, the factors that has dominant influenced soft skills in vocational education graduates' readiness including (a) communication skills (20.07%), (b) working according to plan (6.00%), (c) emotional intelligence (3.13%), (d) digital abilities (2.07%), (e) problem solving (1.96%), (f) willingness to learn (1.61 %), (g) confident (1.23%), (h) ability to cooperate (1.14%), and (i) decision making (1.06%). This finding is useful for the university as an institution that produces graduates for vocational education, and the construction services as users of vocational education graduates. Moreover, it is also possible that these findings can apply more broadly to vocational secondary education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to propose an evaluation of Indonesian online learning system which known as SPADA. This system accommodate an online learning for teacher profession education program which known as PPG. The system evaluation is using unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) model with a few adjustments. This study provide an information such as required variables to evaluate the system and research design on SPADA. The proposed evaluation model using seven main constructs of UTAUT 2.0 and its influence on behavioral intention and use behavior. The data obtained from several questionnaires related to the variable and analyzed with path analysis technique. Moreover, this proposed study is expected can be as reference to conduct a similar study related to the system evaluation.
