Abstract

Tumor (TVT) aim of this study was to find out the prevalence and the factors were of Transmissible Venereal disease transmission on Dog Hunter in Payakumbuh. The study was conducted using a cross-sectional observational study (cross-sectional). Data collected through interviews by using questionnaires and observations of the condition of the Dog Hunter. The owners of hunter dogs were selected by purposive sampling. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively. Interviews were conducted with 110 people hunting dog owners with the total number of hunting dogs were observed as many as 300 individuals. The results showed that the prevalence rate of the Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT) disease on Dog Hunter in Payakumbuh is 1,33%. Factors the disease emergence were the mating habits of the dog were uncontrolled, the high levels of dogs sexual activity that was free to roam, the habitual of  sniffing and licking genitals of infected dogs TVT, and also does not apply the principles of biosecurity property.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify the effect of sipatah-patah (Cissus quadrangularis Salisb) leaf extract on mandible density of ovariectomized rats (Rattus norvegicus). The samples were 12 female rats which were divided into 4 treatment groups with 3 replications. K0 consisted of ovariectomized rats without Cissus quadrangularis Salisb exstract, wheares K1, K2 and K3 consisted of ovariectomized rats  and were given Sipatah-patah extract with 500mg/kg body weight, 700/mg/kg body weight and 900mg/kg body weight for 30 days. On 31st day, rats were euthanized with cloroform and mandible bones were collected for histological preparation. Parameters observed were bone structures (osteosit, osteoblast, osteoclast and trabekula). The results showed that in K0 group, bone density was decreased and became thinner, osteoclast cells were found on trabekula, and low density of active and passive osteoblast were also detected. The treatment group (K1 and K2) showed an improvement stucture of trabekula,where the amount of osteoclast were lower than K0, as well as the amount of active osteoblast, although a lot of passive osteoblast were still found. The treatment group (K3) showed an improvement as the most dense trabekula structure with large amount of active osteoblast cell density without the existance of osteoclast compared to other grups. In this research, it would be concluded that the adding sipatah-patah extract with a dose of 900 mg/kb body weight showed a higher number of active osteoblasts and trabekula density compared to the control groups, K1, and K2 on ovariectomized mandible bone rats

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of giving Sipatah-patah extract toward the histopathological and femur bone growth of white rat that was ovariectomized. The experimental animals that were used were 12 white rats divided into 4 treatment group with 3 repetitions. K0 was the ovariectomized rat without giving Sipatah-patah extract (ESP); K1, K2 and K3 were ovariectomized rats which were given Sipatah-patah extract with multilevel doses of 500 mg/kg BW, 700 mg/kg BW and 900 mg/kg BW for 30 days. On the 31st day, rats were euthanized using chloroform and os femur that was taken to being made into histological preparation.  There was the decrease in the bones density of the K0 group which is characterized by thinning of trabecular structure, there were lots of osteoclast cells on the edge of the trabecular and lower density of active osteoblasts and passive osteoblasts. The rat of group K1 and K2 showed an improvement on the trabecular structure and lower osteoclast than group K0. The rat of group K3 had a visible improvement of the most congested trabecular structures, cohesive with the most density cell of active osteoblasts than the other groups. The result of this research concluded that the giving of Sipatah-patah extract doses 900 mg/kg BW showed a higher density of trabecular and active osteoblasts than the control group, K1 and K2 on the white rat bones that were ovariectomized.

Abstract

This study was done to determine blood chemistry of local swamp buffaloes in Aceh. Blood samples were collected from 15 local buffaloes slaughtered at the abattoir of Banda Aceh and 16 local buffaloes slaughtered at the abattoir of Aceh Besar using EDTA as an anticoagulant. Measurement of uric acid, cholesterol and glucose levels was done using Easy Touch rapid test whereas hemoglobin concentration was determined using Sahli method. Data obtained was analyzed by t-test using GraphPad Prims 6 software. The results showed that concentration of uric acid, cholesterol, glucose and hemoglobin in the blood of local swamp buffaloes were 13.80±3.62 mg/dl, 139.50±39.71 mg/dl, 81.81±21.34 mg/dl, and 10.86±2.78 g/dl, respectively. In the male local buffaloes, the level of uric acid, cholesterol, glucose and Hb were 12.23±3.94 mg/dl, 126.10±33.99 mg/dl, 73.58±22.54 mg/dl, and Hb 11.20±3.86 g/dl, respectively. For female local buffaloes, uric acid level was 14.59±3.29 mg/dl, cholesterol was 147.70±41.61 mg/dl, glucose was 87.00±19.35 mg/dl, and Hb was 10.64±1.91 g/dl. Statistical analysis indicated that there was no difference in the chemistry profiles in the blood of local swamp buffaloes of Aceh according to sex.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know effect of Pressure Duration to protein level in Dry Meat Acehnese (Sie balu). Thigh of fresh beef was used in this study (musculus semitendinosus) eight pieces, weighing 250 grams each. All of meats were in the pressed with a iron plate weight of 10 kg. The design of research used  a completely randomized design (CRD). All of meats were randomly divided into four treatments. First treatment (PO) as control, were not given pressure. Second treatment (P1) was given pressure during 6 hours. Third treatment (P2) was given pressure during the 12 hours and the four treatment (P3) was given pressure during 18 hours. Of results showed the pressure with 10 kg on meat significant effect on the protein content of  Aceh Sie balu (p 0.01). It was concluded that the pressure with weigher 10 kg increase the level protein sie balu during in process

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh substitusi fermentasi tepung daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) pada pakan komersial terhadap kadar total protein plasma ayam broiler. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 20 ekor ayam broiler yang dibagi ke dalam 4 kelompok perlakuan, yang masing–masing terdiri atas 5 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola searah. Kelompok kontrol (P0) diberikan 100% pakan komersial, kelompok P1 diberikan 95% pakan komersial dan 5% fermentasi tepung daun kelor, kelompok P2 diberikan 92,5% pakan komersial dan 7,5% fermentasi tepung daun kelor, dan kelompok P3  diberikan 90% pakan komersial dan 10% fermentasi tepung daun kelor. Perlakuan pakan diberikan  selama 15 hari. Pengambilan darah dilakukan pada hari ke-16 dari vena brachialis. Selanjutnya dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar total protein plasma secara spektrofotometri dengan alat Bio System A-15. Rata–rata kadar total protein plasma (g/dl) yaitu kelompok kontrol (P0): 7,02±0,91, P1: 7,50±0,73, P2: 7,16±0,23, dan P3: 7,26±1,02. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa substitusi pakan komersial dengan fermentasi tepung daun kelor 5-10% selama 15 hari tidak pengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap kadar total protein plasma ayam broiler.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan dan karakteristik gen calpain untuk perbaikan mutu genetik pada kambing kacang (Capra hircus). Sampel penelitian yang digunakan adalah darah yang diambil dari 5 ekor kambing kacang yang dipelihara di UPT Hewan Coba FKH Unsyiah Banda Aceh. Tahap pertama dilakukan isolasi DNA dari darah, tahap kedua dilakukan elektroforesis, hasil ekstraksi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan optimasi suhu annealing, amplifikasi dan sekuensing. Hasil sekuensing dianalisis menggunakan software program Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) dan Clustal W dari program Mega 6.01. Hasil optimasi suhu annealing diperoleh suhu 56°C merupakan suhu yang tepat untuk melakukan amplifikasi. Semua sampel yang diteliti amplifikasi gen calpain diperoleh hasil sepanjang 709 bp sesuai dengan primer yang digunakan. Hasil analisis program BLAST dan program Mega 6.01. menunjukkan kekerabatan yang sangat dekat, ditandai dengan berada pada satu cabang dari pohon filogenetik dan hasil urutan gen calpain (CAPN1) kambing kacang (Capra hircus) memiliki kedekatan dengan gen calpain Capra hircus breed Barbari sebesar 98%. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa gen calpain pada kambing kacang yang teramplifikasi sepanjang 709 bp, dan mempunyai kedekatan sekuen nukleotida dengan gen calpain pada beberapa jenis kambing lainnya dan dapat digunakan untuk perbaikan mutu genetik kambing kacang.(The aim of this research was to find out the presence and characteristics of calpain genes for the improvement of genetic quality in kacang goat (Capra hircus). The sample for research using blood taken from 5 Capra hircus which kept in UPT Animal Laboratory of FKH Unsyiah, Banda Aceh. The first stage is DNA isolation from blood, the second stage is electrophoresis, the extraction then continued with optimization of annealing temperature, amplification and sequencing. The results of sequencing analyzed using software program named Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) and Clustal W from program Mega 6.01. Annealing temperature optimization results obtained temperature of 56 ° C is the proper temperature to do amplification. All samples studied with calpain gene amplification gained results of 709 bp according to the primary used. Results of BLAST program analysis and Mega 6.01 program. shows a very close genetic relationship, characterized by being on the same branch of phylogenetic tree and the result sequence of  calpain gene (CAPN1) of the goat (Capra hircus) possessing proximity to the calpain genes Capra hircus breed of Barbari by 98%. The results of this study can be concluded that the calpain gene in Capra hircus is amplified by 709 bp, and has the adjacency of nucleotide sequence with the calpain gene in some other types of goats and can be used as a genetic improvement for Capra hircus).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui  kemampuan teknologi NIRS guna memprediksi kadar lemak dan protein daging sapi aceh. Penentuan kadar protein dan lemak daging sapi aceh dilakukan pada regio Longissimus dorsi. Sampel diperoleh dari pasar Peunayong dan Lambaro, meliputi 2 sampel daging dengan masing-masing daging 3 kali pengulangan. Penelitian ini  menggunakan metode Principal Component Analysis (PCA) untuk menentukan kandungan protein dan lemak daging sapi aceh  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan  bahwa nilai aktual laboratorium dengan nilai prediksi NIRS memperoleh nilai yang akurat ditunjukkan dengan masing-masing R-square prediksi kadar protein dan lemak daging sapi aceh 0,99 dan 0,99 yaitu variabel prediksi terbaik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah NIRS mampu memprediksi kadar protein dan lemak daging sapi aceh dengan sangat baik karena diperoleh nilai aktual dengan nilai prediksi dan metode NIRS dapat memprediksi kadar protein dan lemak daging sapi aceh secara akurat, karena diperoleh nilai R² = 0,99.This study aims to know the ability of NIRS technology to predicted  of fat  and protein content of aceh beef. Determination of protein and  fat content of aceh beef  was done in the Longissimus dorsi region. This research used Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method to determine protein  and  fat content of aceh beef. Samples were obtained from Peunayong and Lambaro markets. Sampled beef consisted of beef 2 samples with 3 repetition. The results of this study showed that the actual value of the laboratory with a predicted value of NIRS obtained an accurate value indicated by each R-square prediction protein  and fat content of aceh beef aceh  of 0.99 and 0.99 was the best predictive variable. It can be concluded that NIRS was able to predict the levels of protein and fat of beef as accurately. The conclusion of this study were that NIRS was able to predicted the protein and fat content of aceh beef very well because it was obtained by the actual value with prediction value and the NIRS method can predict the protein and fat content of beef aceh accurately, because the value of  R² = 0,99.
