Abstract

This research aim was to determine the number of erythrocytes and hematocrit value of broilers  that infected  by Eimeria tenella and given neem leaf extract combined with jaloh extract. Sample used in this study is 20 strains Cobb broiler chickens aged 15 days old. Sampled broilers were separated into 5 treatment groups consisting of 4 chickens, each treatment were chicken that infected by oocysts Eimeria tenella and not given other treatments (P1), chicken infected by oocysts Eimeria tenella and given the anti-stress commercial (P2), chicken infected by oocysts Eimeria tenella and given the leaf extract jaloh 1000mg/L (P3), chicken infected with oocysts Eimeria tenella and given extracts of neem leaf 250mg/L (P4), and a chicken infected with oocysts Eimeria tenella and given the leaf extract jaloh 1000mg/L combined with neem leaf extract 250mg/L (P5). Administration of each treatment were dissolved into the chicken water and administered for 10 days in the morning and evening. The design used in the study was completely randomized design with 5 treatments, each treatment consisted of 4 repetitions. Parameters observed were the number of erythrocytes and hematocrit values. Results from this study showed that neem extracts combined with jaloh given for 10 days had no effect on the number of erythrocytes and hematocrit values of broilers that infected by Eimeria tenella

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using Moringa leaves fermented flour in feed stock toward the increasing level of hemoglobin and hematocrit value on broiler chickens. This study used a completely randomized design that consists of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The study group was divided into group P0 which was given with 100% of commercial feed, group P1 was given 95% of commercial feed and Moringa leaves fermented flour 5%, group P2 was given 92.5% of commercial feed and Moringa leaves fermented flour 7.5%, and group P3 was given 90% of commercial feed and Moringa leaves fermented flour 10%. Fermentation using EM4 (Effective Microorganism-4) were able to decrease the crude fiber of Moringa leaves flour. The treatment was conducted for 15 days, then hemoglobin levels and hematocrit values were counted. Data were analyzed using ANOVA completely randomized design with SPSS for Windows 16.0. This research showed that giving Moringa leaves fermented flour for 15 days did not have a significally effect (P0.05). The given Moringa leaves fermented flour in  feed for 15 days with 5%, 7.5% and 10% concentration was not show any increase in the levels of hemoglobin and hematocrit values.

Abstract

Kata kunci: domestikasi, easy touch GCU, gula darah, karbohidratABSTRACTDogs (Canis lupus familiaris) are one of the most kept pets in the world. The characteristics of being loyal, easy to train and friendly with humans are added values for this pet, in fact dogs are carnivorous animals that made protein be their main energy source. However, in the midst of society, there are still give rice to their dogs, so this research was conducted to determine the blood sugar levels of dogs and the factors that influence it. This research was carried out by field observation and examination of 30 samples of dog blood samples in Bukittinggi City, then checked the sample using the easy touch GCU and the results showed that there were significant differences in the blood sugar levels of dogs before and after eating, which at the time of eating the dog blood sugar was 73.37±10.88 mg/dL and two hours after feeding was 112.06±14.148 mg/dL this was related to the characteristics of carbohydrates that were quickly digested and circulated throughout the body. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant difference (p0.05) between age and sex on blood sugar levels of domestic dogs. Based on the research concluded that the average sugar content of domestic dogs in the Bukittinggi City is still in the normal range. Keywords: Blood sugar, carbohydrates, domestication, easy touch GCU

Abstract

The study aimed to see the difference of erythrocyte value, index erythrocyte MCV (Mean Corpuscular Volume), MCH (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin), MCHC (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration), thrombocyte, leukocyte, hematocrit and hemoglobin of aceh female horned cattles and polled cattles. This research is motivated by the existence of local wisdom developed in the Aceh community that aceh female polled cattle is preferred and has some differences compared to aceh female horned cattle. The sample collection was conducted at Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul dan Hijauan Pakan Ternak (BPTU-HPT) Indrapuri, Aceh Besar. The sample used was 3 ml of blood taken from the jugular vein of 15 aceh female horned cattles and 15 aceh female polled cattles aged 12 - 40 months. Blood samples were examined with a hematology analyzer. The results of blood profile of aceh female horned cattle and aceh female polled cattles were as follows: the mean erythrocyte counts were 8.61±0.9 and 8.86±0.49 (10⁶/μl), MCV were 47.85±5.31 and 45.90±4.28 (fl), MCH were 14.57±1.11 and 14.03±1.23 (pg), MCHC were 30.42±1,53 and 30.70±0.81 (g/dl), platelets were 2.67± 0.44 and 2.87± 0.33 (10³/μl), leukocytes were 9.64±1.80 and 9.06±2.75 (10³/μl), hematocrit were 41.43±6.34 and 40.64±4.61 (%), and hemoglobin were 12.57±1.58 and 12.49±1.389 (g/dl), respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that statistically there was no significant difference (P 0.05) of blood profile value between aceh female horned cattle and aceh female polled cattles.

Abstract

This study aimed to isolate and identify fungus that causes aspergillosis in the quail (Coturnix japonica). The samples used in this study were 30 pairs quail lungs taken randomly from the Hanin Group Quail Farm, Garot village, Darul Imarah subdistrict, Aceh Besar regency. The growth of the fungus was observed for Aspergillus sp. macroscopically and microscopically. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study revealed that from 30 pairs quail lungs, Aspergillus sp. can be isolated from 26 out of 30 lungs. It can be concluded that 86.67% of the lung samples were infected with Aspergillus sp.
