Abstract

This study aims to determine the change pattern of  morphological and  physical traits of palm oil fruitsduring the fruit development until the time to harvest. This researchhas been conducted at PT. Panca Surya Garden’s Research Farm located in Kubang Raya, Kampar and Plant Physiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Pekanbaru from February to August 2016.Sixty fruit bunchs which antheses at the same day were selected at random from 7 years old oil palm trees. The fruit bunches were hand pollinated at 18 March 2016 and each was covered by pollination bag. Beginningat 30 to 120 days after pollination (DAP), 3 fruits bunches were harvested at 15 day interval. Then from 125 DAP to 185 DAP the fruit bunch were harvested every 5 days interval. The change of morphological and physical traits were observed such as fresh bunch weight, fresh fruit weight per bunch, mesocarp thickness, fruit diameter, fruit volume andfruit moisture content, and fruit color. Showed that the increase of bunch weight, fresh fruit weight per bunch, fresh fruit weight occurred at the same pattern. Fruit fresh weight and dry weight increase steadily from 30 DAP  and reached the maximum values at about 170 DAP, then decreased slightly until 185 DAP. The fruit water content increased slowly from 30 to 45 DAP, then decreased progressively untul 150 DAP and finally decreased very rapidly  from 150 to 180 DAP. Fruit color changed from dark purple to red purple and finally at harvest the color change to yellow red. Keywords : palm oil, bunch weight, fresh fruit weight, fruit dry weight

Abstract

This study aims to determine the soybean varieties which provide the best response to the germination phase with Polyethylen Glycol. This research was conducted from February to May 2019 atPlant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. The study was conducted experimentally using factorial randomized complete design with two factors, where the first factor was soybean variety: V1 (Najsmoro variety), V2 (Dena 1 variety) and V3 (Argomulyo variety). The second factor was PEG concentration: D1 (0% PEG concentration), D2 (5% PEG concentration), D3 (10% PEG concentration), D4 (15% PEG concentration), D5 (20% PEG concentration). The parameters observed were germination, Indeks value test (IVT), length of roots and plomules. The data obtained were analyzed statistically with variance and continued with a DNMRT further test at the level of 5%. The results showed that the three varieties had germination> 90% after being treated with PEG concentration. Anjasmoro and Dena 1 varieties are varieties with good germination phase after giving of PEG concentration. Keywords: Germination, Soybean varieties, Polyethylen Glycol.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the diversity of local rice accessions from East Kampar and North Kampar, Kampar District. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden and Laboratory of Plant Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru from September 2017 to March 2018 with descriptive analysis method, where there are 10 local rice accessions planted in pots . Each local rice accessions consists of five experimental sample units with a total of 50 units of data. The results of obtained character diversity of rice plants with all accessions has a drooping panicle shaft and medium criteria of plant age, 90% accession have a 2-cleft leaf tongue shape, 80% accessions has a high criteria plant height, 70% accessions has a panicle out shape with all panicle and neck panicle out, 60% local rice accessions have fertility of fertile grains, and 50% accessions has a long leaf character short criteria and the stem segment has a golden yellow color. Keywords: local rice, kinship, diversity, morphology, agronomy.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to best out the effect of water hyacinth compost aplication and plantdistance, and to got dose of water hyacinthcompost   toward growth and production of union. This research was conducted at the technical plantation unit of experimental garden of Riau University's Agricultural Faculty from August to November 2017 using factorial arranged in randomized block design consists of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor of water hyacinthcompost are 10 ton.haˉ¹, 15 ton.haˉ¹, 20 ton.haˉ¹, and 25 ton.haˉ¹. The second factor planting distanceis 10 cm x 20 cm, 15 cm x 20 cm and 20 cm x 20 cm. The data obtained were tested further by Duncan's multiple-range test of 5%.The interaction of water hyacinthcomposting andplanting distance no significant effect on all observation parameters. The interaction of water hyacinthcomposti doses 25 ton.ha-¹ at plant spacing of 15 cm x 20 cm appears to be the best dose to increase leaf count per clump, tuber bulbs, and tuber weight per plot of red onion. Keywords:Onion, compost, planting distance

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the variability an to identify local rice genotipe collected from West Bangkinang and Tambang, Kampar District. The seventeen accessions were grow in Agricultural Experiment Station University of Riau Pekanbaru from September 2017 to March 2018. This research uses descriptive analysis method which includes characterization activities in 17 local rice accessions.Local rice from the West Bangkinang District and Tambang Subdistrict showed uniform and varied performances. The character of the leaf midrib and panicle shaft shows a uniform performance value. The character of leaf tongue shape, leaf color, leaf length, flag leaf angle, root stem diameter, number of children, color of rootstock section, panicle type and color of grain tip showed varying performance values. The results of the analysis of the diversity of morphological characters in 17 local rice accessions ranged from (0 – 4,971). The leaf midrib color character has a uniform diversity and the panicle type character has a very high diversity.Keywords: local rice, diversity, morphology.

Abstract

This research aims to know response of interaction between liquid biofertilizer formulatied and NPK manure and also to get the best combination treatment on the growth of caccao seedling in subsoil medium of ultisol. The research has been conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau from      April to September 2017. Using completely randomized design, consisted of two  factor with three replication. The first factor was liquid biofertilizier formulated  with three level. and the second factor was NPK manure with four level. Data      were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and the means were              compared with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%.The      result shows that the interaction between biofertilizier formulated and  NPK         manure increase the growth of caccao seedling in subsoil medium of ultisol. The  combination between biofertilizier of palm oil mill waste water formulating          35 ml/seed and 3,75 g/seed gave the best response in increasing plant height,        number of leaves and root length of caccao seedling. Keywords : cacao, biofertilizier, NPK.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of paclobutrazol and phosphorus fertilizer application on sweet corn growth and yield. This research was conducted at experimental farm, the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Tampan, Pekanbaru, from September to December 2016. This study were using a randomized block design (RAK) factorial consisting of two factors: The first factor is the concentration of paclobutrazol which consists of 4 levels (0 ppm, 500 ppm, 1000 ppm and 1500 ppm) andthe second factor is the dose of phosphorus fertilizer (200 kg / ha, 300 kg / ha and 400 kg / ha)with three replications. Parameters were measured in this research was plant height, harvest age, weight ofhusked cob, weight of cob without husk, cob diameter, number of grain rows per ear, number of grains per ear and the production per m2. Interaction ofpaclobutrazol and phosphorus fertilizers gave no significant effect on all parameters. Application ofpaclobutrazol significantly affected all parameters except number of seed rows per ear. Phosphorus fertilizer significantly affected the number of seeds per row cob and production per m2. Application of 1000 ppm Paclobutrazol and phosphorus fertilizer to 300 kg / ha produce sweet corn yield per m2 of 15.11 tonnes / ha. Keywords: corn,paclobutrazol, phosphorus, growth and yield

Abstract

This research aims to get the best dosage of coffee rind compost to increase the growth of rubber seedling. This research has been conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of University of Riau, kampus of Bina Widya km 12,5 Simpang Baru, Tampan, Pekanbaru from March to July 2017. This research was conducted experimentally using factorial randomized design, consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The dosage of coffee rind compost were 0 ton/ha (0 g/polybag), 5 ton/ha (12,5 g/polybag), 10 ton/ha (25 g/polybag), 15 ton/ha (37,5 g/polybag) dan 20 ton/ha (50 g/polybag). The observed parameters in this research were steam length, number of leaves, wide of leaves, steam diameter, fresh weight, volume of root, rootshootratioanddry weight. The result shows that the giving application of coffee rind compost can to increase the growth of rubber seedling. The dosage of coffee rind compost 15 ton/ha (37,5 g/polybag) gave the best response in increasing steam length, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry wight. Keywords: dosage, coffee rind compost, rubber

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L) is member of Brassicaceae family. With hight nutritional content pakcoy consumptions in Indonesian society increase every year, but it is still far from the recommended level of the consumption. This research aims to determine the effect of the interaction and single concentration of Herbafarm, growing media, and to obtain the dosage of Herbafarm fertilizer and the best growing medium for the production of pakcoy with NFT hydroponic system. This research has been conducted in Green House Hydroponic at Jl. Tulip Sukajadi, Pekanbaru. This research used split plot design. The first factor was Herbafam fertilizer (H) as a subplot with concentration of Herbafarm 0, 15, 20, and 25 ml.l-1 of water. The second factor are various growing media (M) as the main plot as the growth medium, they arerockwool, cocopeat, and charcoal husk. The result of the variance analysis was continued with further test of honestly significance diffirence (HSD) at 5% level. The observed parameters were plant height (cm), leaf width (cm), number of leaves (strands), wet economic weight (g) and root volume (cm3). The results show that the dosage of Herbafarm fertilizer in pakcoy did not increase the growth and production of pakcoy. The growing medium rockwoolis better to increase the number of leaves, leaf width, economical wet weight and root volume of pakcoy than the cocopeat and charcoal husk as thegrowing media. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of husk and cocopeat charcoal planting medium, liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on banana peel waste and the interaction between planting medium and POC on banana peel waste on the growth and production of tomato plants cultivated in hydroponic substrates. Dosen Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau JOM Faperta UR Vol. 6 Edisi 1 Januari s/d Juni 2019 research was conducted at the experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from August 2017 to January 2018 using factorial randomized complete design (CRD). The first factor was the planting medium consisting of two levels, husk charcoal (M1) and cocopeat (M2). The second factor was four concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer from banana peel waste consisting, without the administration of liquid organic fertilizer banana peel waste (P0), 2 ml.l-1 water (P1), 4 ml.l-1 water (P2) and 6 ml.l-1 water (P3). The parameters observed were plant height, day of flowering, number of flowers, percentage of fruit formation, day of first harvest, number of fruits per plant, total weight of fruit per plant and weight per fruit. The results showed that there was no interaction between the planting medium and the POC of banana peel waste as well as the single factor of POC peel waste waste on all observed treatments. The treatment of planting medium had a significant effect on all parameters observed except the percentage of fruit formation, age of first harvest, and weight per fruit. The use of husk charcoal medium produced higher plants with higher number of flowers, higher fruit weight and total fruit weight per plant compared to the use of cocopeat planting medium in the production of hydroponic substrate tomato plants.
