Abstract

Scabies is a common skin disease among the students ofthe boarding school. Scabies is caused by mite infestation as called as Sarcoptes scabiei that can spread easily from human to human, animal to animal or humans to animal sinstead. The purpose of this studyis to measure the prevalence of scabies in students, and to analyzethe relationship between the incidences of scabies by healthy behaviors in students of boarding school at Lamongan, East Java. The type of research is observational and cross-sectional study. Total populationis 59.650 students with a sample ofthe studywere 338 students. The sampling technique on this research was multistage random sampling method. The results showed that 217 students (64.2%) suffered from scabies, and 121 students (35.8%) did not suffer from scabiesor healthy. Based on the statistical test by Chi-square, there is a relationship between the incidence ofscabies by healthy behaviors (p<0.05). It is suggested need for counseling and training on a regular basis about healthy behavior and clean forthe students. Need for cooperation with other agencies, such as Communities Health Center (Puskesmas) in order to prevent and control the incidence of scabiesin students of boarding school.

Abstract

The Men who like Sex with Men (MSM) is a minority in heterosexual society. The Young MSM community always close their identity in the society becuse they need self actuality as homosexual in the heterosexuaal society. This will have an impact on their lack of information and knowledge about reproductive health. The purpose of this study was to analyze the process of socialization among young MSM and its effects on adolescent reproductive health, which includes socialization in the family, at school (college), in the MSM community and the general public. This research used qualitative methode with phenomenological approach. Data was collected by means of indepth interviews to the youth MSM attain the age of 17-23 old years in Jember District. Based on the results of research indicate that most of the MSM is difficult to communicate and interact socially in the family, school (college) and in the society. Therefore they were not being themself. When they did socialization in heterosexual society, they would follow the norms and rules that exist in society. Howefer when they did socialization in MSM community, they feel comfortable and could be himself. Because MSM always got isolated from society, they make community in order toreceive emotional support and getting acceptance (cohesive) from society. Howefer this condition can not solve their isolated feelings.Therefore the difficult problems getting proper information about reproductive health.Therefore, they become vulnerable to infection of Sexual Transmited Diseases and HIV/AIDS.

Abstract

The study aimed to describe the role of prison officers to the prevention of STIs and HIV/AIDS in the Correctional Institution inmates Class II-A Jember conducted a qualitative approach using snowball technique. Indepth interviews was done in six prison officers to obtain a more indepth information about the variables studied. These variables include the characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and the role that prison officers against STIs and HIV / AIDS on prisoners. Results showed that at the last general prison officer education is a high educational level (graduate degree) and secondary education level (high school graduate or equivalent) with a length of work <15 years. Average prison officer knowledge about STIs and HIV / AIDS are at moderate and high categories, with the attitude of support. In general, prison officers have a good role in the prevention of STDs and HIV / AIDS, but in certain respects is still room for improvement. Abstract

Nurses perceptions of quality nursing service is the process of giving the impression of value or by a nurse in providing nursing services to patients in accordance with the standards and quality expected hospital. Fatigue of work (Burnout), is a kind of psychological stress syndrome consisting of emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation, and decreased achievement in itself, experienced by individuals who work to provide services for others. Burnout is a phenomenon more common in social work compared to other occupations, it is because workers have to interact directly with patients or clients, dealing with clients who do not cooperate, contact with suffering patients, and others. Examples include professions in this field one of them is a nurse. This research uses korelasional research approach. Population of the study subjects were all correlation nurses who served in the Inpatient Unit-Jember Balung hospitals totaling 58 people. Retrieving data using questionnaire instruments, and performed data analysis using computer assistance with SPSS 12.0 for windows, the first conducted test the validity and reliability of assumptions to measure the level of instrument accuracy and regularity. The results of the questionnaire was found that fatigue of work (Burnout) of the 36 items 28 items found valid with reliability index of r = 0.794 revealed reliable. While the questionnaire to the nurses perception of quality of nursing service there are 36 items 29 items are valid with reliability index of r = 0.947 revealed reliable. Furthermore the test for normality and linearity test showed a normal spreading data and linear correlation. Then in the hypothesis test obtained rxy = 0.301 and a significance level of p = 0.022, which means there is a significant relationship between work exhaustion (Burnout) the nurses perception of quality nursing service in hospitals inpatient units Balung-Jember. Abstract

HIV/AIDS is public health problems, one of the causes HIV/AIDS is free seks. Until now it has not been found vaccine the prevention of HIV/AIDS and in medicine to treating HIV/AIDS, the best approach with health promotion using media of health promotion in the form of leaflets and posters product AIDS Commission district Jember. This research to analyze the difference of the effectiveness of leaflet and poster product AIDS commission district Jember in the behavior of hiv/aids prevention (a case study on the faculty of non Health University Jember student Cohort 2010). Abstract

Penelitian Dortje pada Lansia yang tinggal di panti menunjukkan bahwa86,7% Lansia merasa terbuang dan 80% Lansia mengalami stres psikososial. Surveipendahuluan menyatakan bahwa Lansia perempuan lebih sering mengalami stresdibandingkan laki-laki. Stres adalah kondisi dimana seseorang dalam kondisi sangattertekan. Coping stres pada Lansia merupakan segala usaha Lansia untuk mengaturtuntutan lingkungan dan konflik yang muncul, mengurangi ketidaksesuaian ataukesenjangan persepsi antara tuntutan situasi yang menekan dengan kemampuanindividu dalam memenuhi tuntutan tersebut.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis strategi coping stres pada lanjut usiaberjenis kelamin perempuan di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut UsiaJember. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studikasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Lansia di UPT PSLU Jember sebagianbesar mengalami stres yang disebabkan oleh lingkungan sosial, lingkungan fisik, danstres karena keluarga. Lingkungan sosial yaitu teman menjadi faktor penyebab stres.Penyebab stres yang berasal dari lingkungan fisik adalah sarana pra sarana yang tidaksesuai dengan kondisi Lansia, serta stres bersumber dari keluarga yang tidak maumenerima keberadaan sebagian besar Lansia. Informan utama lebih dominanmengatasi stres menggunakan strategi coping stres bentuk emotional focused copingdaripada bentuk problem focused coping karena perempuan lebih mengutamakanperasaan daripada logikanya.

Abstract

Family planning program is an effort to solve the demoghraphy issue in Indonesia.Metode Operasi Wanita (MOW) is a contraception method that can be exact choice for family who want to stop having children and end the pregnancy. Husband’s social support is needed for MOW as a contraception method of family planning program,especially for unmet need Of eligible couples. In 2012, Puger sub district had the highest of eligible couples of unmet need in Jember regency.The objective of this research is to explain husband’s social support for wive to use contraception of MOW. This research applied qualitative-method.The data was collected by in-depth interviews.The informants were defined by purposive sampling. Based on the results of indepth interview, it was known that most of husband didn’t give social support in three aspects. It was caused most of them had a poor knowledge about MOW and high cost that have to be paid as administrative and accomodative cost for MOW services. There were some factors caused unmet needs in Puger Sub district : (1) they are officer of family planning program and society still had limited knowledge about MOW; (2) husbands forbade their wives to use MOW; (3) it’s caused cost must be paid. Abstract

Government sets up Alert Village program that has a component of basic health service,community empowerment through development of Community-Sourced Health Efforts. One ofActive Alert Villages in Indonesiat is Kenongo Village, District of Gucialit, Lumajang Regency.Thesuccess of the formation of Alert Village in Kenongo Village. The purpose of research to knowthe form of support from community Leders’ in an emotional manner , the award , instrumental ,in the sustainability and informative of alert village in Kenongo village.This research is adescriptive research with qualitative approach. Determination of informants in this research usedpurposive technique. Data were collected by indepth interview, triangulation, unstructuredobservation and documentation. The provision of social support from community leaders wasdivided into four, emotional support was given by giving attention and motivation to thecommunity members, so that they community were moved to participate in the activities. Theappreciative support by community leaders was given by giving appreciation and attention topeople who participate in activities of Active Alert Village. Other appreciation was given by givingrewards to the community in the form of development assistance of health facilities. Abstract

Children are always risky exposed to pornography of mass media every day. Children sexualviolence is growing too, especially the number of case of sexual violence always ranks topthan other case of violence in Jember regency. The existence of awareness of reproductionhealth education grants in children early is one way to cope with case of sexual violence.Researcher made pop-up book as an alternative reproduction health education mediadevoted to elementary school students between grade 3-4. This research aimed to find outthe feasibility of the pop-up book media from presenting physical appearance and suitabilityof the material. This research was applied in descriptive method with qualitative approach.Data was collected by in-depth interview, triangulation, and documentations. The resultshowed that overall the colors used were in accordance with the children for colorfull,typography used have qualified legibility and readability, lllustrations used was in accordancewith the explanation was given and so attractive for children, and the layout of were used as awhole had met the principle of unity. While the content of each theme was in compliance withthe children, but there had to be improvement of the writing, the use of words, and thecontent.Keywords: Pop-Up, Reproduction Health, Children

Abstract

Many regions in Indonesia have potency to occur disaster every time including JemberRegency. Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team is one of PMI’s programs asdisaster preparedness effort. The most active of Community-Based DisasterPreparedness Team in Jember Regency is Community-Based Disaster PreparednessTeam of Sumberjambe Subdistrisct. This research is purposed to know the role ofCommunity-Based Disaster Preparedness Team in disaster preparedness inSumberjambe Subdistrisct Jember Regency. This research is descriptive research withqualitative approachment locating in Sumberjambe Subdistrisct Jember Regency. Theinformants of research were determinded by snowball sampling and purposive samplingtechnique. The informants were obtained 6 persons, there were a key informant(coordinator of Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team in Jember Regency), 3main informants (Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team Team ofSumberjambe Subdistrict and Head of Social Prosperousness in SumberjambeSubdistrict), and 2 additional informants (Sumberjambe Subdistrict people). Data weregathered by in-depth interview, triangulation, and documentation. The result of researchshowed that Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team had roles as escort,adviser, instructor, and motivator in disaster preparedness in Sumberjambe Subdistrict.Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team was not only as a communityempowerment, but the advocacy could also be found in their programs/events.Keywords: Role, Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team, Disasterpreparedness
