Abstract

Food security at household level is a very important precondition to foster the national and regional food security. Many people migrate to urban areas in the hope of improving their welfare. Generally people think that in the city there are more opportunities, but the opposite is true. The problem is more complex in the city especially for people who do not have adequate skills and education. This study aims to address whether  age of household head, household size, education level of household head, income, and distribution of subsidized rice policy affect the food security of urban poor households in Purbalingga district. A hundred respondents were selected from four top villages in urban areas of Purbalingga with the highest level of poverty. Using binary logistic regression, this study finds significant positive effect of education of household head and household income and significant negative effect of household size and raskin on household food security, while age of household head has no significant effect on household food security. The results imply the need for increased awareness of family planning, education, improved skills, and increased control of the implementation of subsidized rice for the poor.

Abstract

This Scrabble-based Arabic learning model basically is an attempt held by teacher in order that student can develop vocabulary, and having competence in active learning i.e. to learn to express himself both as individual or group. According to writer’s observation on Arabic learning in schools including MI Sultan Agung, the learning doesn’t make student as active learner yet. Furthermore, the teacher considers student as an object in teaching and learning process. It is expected from this Scrabble-based Arabic learning model that student can develop vocabulary competence more actively so that they can master Arabic both in spoken and written, and it also can be useful for his/her life in future.

Abstract

SMAN 1 Tikep adalah salah satu sekolah di Kabupaten Muna Barat yang menjadi objek penelitian peneliti karena hasil belajarnya yang masih rendah dan hanya 40% yang memenuhi KKM. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) Mendeskripsikan aktivitas belajar siswa dan aktivitas mengajar guru melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw; 2) Meningkatkan hasil belajar geografi melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw pada siswa kelas X IIS3 SMAN 1 TIKEP. Data dalam penelitian adalah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1). Aktivitas belajar siswa meningkat 3,6 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw; (2). Aktivitas mengajar guru meningkat 3,4 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw; (3). Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar.

Abstract

The results of previous research on the relationship between economic growth and poverty have shown inconclusive results. This could be due to the fact that the relationship between these variables is indirect. Therefore, this study tries to introduce employment opportunity as a mediating variable. In addition, the authors also examined the effect of control variables consisting of dependency ratio, education, and infrastructure. The data used in this study are panel data of 6 provinces on Java Island in the period of 2000-2017. The methods used in this study are path analysis and multiple linear regression. The results  show that employment opportunity perfectly mediates the relationship between poverty and economic growth. This study also found that dependency ratio and education had a significant effect on poverty, while infrastructure had a negative, but insignificant effect on poverty. The perfect mediating effect implies that economic growth will reduce poverty only if the economic growth is able to generate employment opportunities. These findings imply the importance of inclusive growth that gives access to the poor to work and business opportunities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran yang lebih baik antara model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) dengan Make a Match terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen yang sebenarnya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode dokumentasi dan tes. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel dari penelitian merupakan siswa kelas X TBSM 1 dan X TBSM 2. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournaments memiliki rata-rata sebesar 60,03 dan yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Make a Match memiliki rata-rata sebesar 68,03. Hasil statistik uji-t diperoleh Sig. 0,052 dan Sig. 0,053 di mana taraf signifikan yang digunakan adalah =0,05 artinya nilai signifikansi lebih dari 0,05. Jadi, Sig  maka H0 diterima, artinya model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) tidak lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran Make a Match terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the effect of the experimental method and the method to learn science demonstrations against the results of class V SD Negeri Bojong 1 Mungkid. This research uses experimental research of pure (True Experimental Design). Experimental research design used was pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were all students of class VA and VB SD Negeri Bojong 1 Mungkid. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique consisted of 22 students who received treatment in the form of learning using the experimental method and the 22 students who received treatment in the form of learning by using the method of demonstration. Methods of data collection was performed using the test results and the observation sheet psychomotor learning. Differences influence experimental methods and methods demonstration on learning outcomes IPA calculated using analysis of variance with SPSS 16.0 forWindows. Based on the test, a score Fhitung 4.509> Ftable 4,073dan sig 0.040 <0.05. It concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha accepted which means that there is a significant difference between the value posttest experimental class I (experimental method) and the posttest experimental class II (methods of demonstration) and greater influence is the experimental method. Thus the experimental method is better than demonstration method in teaching science.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a vector-based diseases are a public health problem in Indonesia. DHF cases in district Tembalang reached 343 cases and most cases (13 cases) occured in Kramas area in 2015. Community behavior is very important for DHF. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the practice in the prevention of dengue fever in Kramas area Semarang City. Type of this research is analytical descriptive with cross-sectional study. The population are 800 housewife. The sample are 90 housewife were taken using random sampling technique. Data analysis using univariate and bivariat analysis with Chi Square test (significance level 0,05). The result showed that most of respondents is good knowledge (55,6%), supporting attitude (56,7), high perceptions (72,2%), abilibity rules (86,7), facilities and infrastructure available well (74,4%) good support from health workers (82,2%) good support from community leaders (74,4%), good support from family (68,9%). Variable are associated with preventive behaviour of DHF is attitude (p=0,005) facilities and infrastructure (0,003) and support from community leaders (0,002).

Abstract

Pembentukan karakter siswa diawali dengan budaya shaleh (membaca Al Qur?an,  sholat Dhuha dan dzikir pagi) yang diciptakan dan dikembangkan di SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Krian sehingga menjadi budaya kuat dalam diri anak-anak. Pembentukan karakter shaleh yang diawali dengan pembiasaan dipagi hari sangat berdampak pada perilaku siswa. Metode yang dikembangkan dalam budaya sekolah sebagai pembentuk karakter siswa mendapatkan hasil pada perilaku siswa yang semakin hari bertambah baik. Budaya shaleh dipagi hari membawa dampak yang signifikan pada budaya jujur, displin, tanggung jawab, dan santun. Nilai budaya yang dikembangkan sebagi upaya perbaikan pendidikan sekolah agar terwujudnya pribadi yang berakhlak mulia, berprestasi dan berwawasan global. Dalam implementasinya budaya sekolah yang dikembangkan dan menjadi kebiasan-kebiasan karakter yang positif yang berpengaruh pada perilaku peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan merancang studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi peran serta, wawacara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa budaya shaleh yang diawali dipagi hari sebelum pembelajaran merupakan dasar dari budaya jujur, disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan santun  menjadi budaya sekolah  yang dikembangkan dan menjadikan trade merk SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Krian.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu: (1)  Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas X SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, (2) Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas X SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung, (3) Untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas X SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu, dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas X SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta dan sampel penelitian kelas X TSM1 sebanyak 20 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X TSM2 sebanyak 21 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan simple random sampling.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes.Tes yang dimaksud adalah tes kemampuan awal siswa dan tes hasil belajar matematika siswa. Uji coba instrumen meliputi uji validitas, tingkat kesukaran, daya beda dan uji reliabilitas. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecenderungan nilai hasil belajar matematika siswa  kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievment Division (STAD) adalah tinggi; Kecenderungan nilai hasil belajar matematika siswa  kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung adalah sedang; Pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif Student Teams Achievment Division (STAD) lebih efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa.
