Abstract

In today's modern era, preserving culture is very important. One effort that can be made is to integrate culture into learning mathematics. This research is conducted to identify the mathematical concepts of the Tidung wedding ritual in Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan. The mathematical concepts found can be used as material to integrate culture in learning mathematics. The concept of the program is known as ethnomathematics. This research is ethnographic. Mathematical concepts in the Tidung wedding tradition will be identified in the tools and activities of the wedding ritual. The data were obtained through direct observation, interviews, and documentation analysis. Data analysis was carried out in four stages: data reduction, data presentation, concluding, and checking the validity of the data using triangulation methods. The results showed that there were mathematical concepts in the tools used in the wedding procession. Tools that can be used in learning mathematics include bagas silow, dian, busak dian, nasi rasul, nasi pengantin, sirih pinang, selapah, pelujan, raja besila, gandur, batu asa, padaw, and panggaw. The identified mathematical concepts are cylinders, circles, cuboids, geometric transformations, regular polygons, half spheres, integrals, quadrilaterals, arithmetic sequences and series, congruences, number patterns, and triangles. Abstract

Techonological developments 5.0 requires all people to have soft skill that should they develop so that they are not left and be able to adressing a social and educational issues. So this research focused on mathematic learning that applied a learning together-type scientific approach to improve 21 st century skills which include problem solving, communication and collaboration. This research is a quantitative study pseudo-experiments. The subjects in this study were 32 class VIII students at SMPN 7 Batang. The data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires, interview and tests. The result of this study showed that mathematics learing with a learning together type scientific approach had increase a significant  in terms of the achievment of KD pretest by 38,3 % and posttest 77,08%. Using that result can show that problem solving skills have improved. Meanwhile, communication and collaboration skills are measured by giving quetionnaires and improving before and after treatment. So that the implementation of a learning together type scientific approach can develop 21 century skills.

Abstract

AbstrakPembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) dengan pendekatan saintifik yang digunakan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 2 Kuantan Mudik. Penelitian yang digunakan eksperimen semu (quasi-eksperiment) dengan desain the one-group pretest-posttest design, yang melibatkan sebanyak 21 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Instrumen tes yang digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur hasil belajar matematika siswa. Hasil uji Paired Sample T-test diperoleh nilai Sig.(2-tailed) di bawah 0,05, yakni < ,000  yang berarti  diterima. Maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pretest (sebelum diberi perlakuan) dengan posttest (setelah diberi perlakuan). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa secara signifikan.Kata kunci: kooperatif, STAD, pendekatan saintifik, hasil belajar AbstractThe purpose of this study is to improve students ' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) learning model with a scientific approach in Class X of SMA Negeri 2 Kuantan Mudik. The research used a quasi-experimental with the one-group pretest-posttest design, involving as many as 21 students selected by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using observation, tests, and observation sheets implementation of learning. The test instrument used is a multiple choice test to measure students ' math learning outcomes. Based on the test results of Paired Sample t-test obtained Sig value. (2-tailed) below 0.05, i.e. < ,000 which means  is accepted. Then there is a significant difference between the value of the pre-test (before being treated) and post-test (after being treated). It can be concluded that the STAD cooperative learning model with a scientific approach can significantly improve student math learning outcomes.Keywords: cooperative, STAD, scientific approach, learning outcome

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan keefektifan model pembelajaran matematika realistik dan cooperative learning tipe Student Team Achievement Divison (STAD) ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan kreativitas siswa SD pada Mata Pelajaran Matematika, (2) menyelidiki perbedaan keefektifan model pembelajaran matematika realistik dan model cooperative learning tipe STAD ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan kreativitas siswa SD. Penelitian ini berjenis eksperimen semu dengan desain Nonequivalent control group design. Terdapat dua kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol. Populasi adalah siswa MIN Tempel dengan sampel siswa kelas IVA, IVB dan IVC. Uji beda menggunakan MANOVA. Penentuan tingkat keefektifan pembelajaran menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan kreativitas siswa, (1) model pembelajaran matematika realistik dan model cooperative learning tipe STAD sama-sama efektif, (2) terdapat perbedaan kefektifan antara model pembelajaran matematika realistik dengan cooperative learning tipe STAD, (3) model pembelajaran matematika realistik lebih efektif daripada model cooperative learning tipe STAD. Abstract

An alternative for determining an accurate major for prospective high school students is not only based on academic scores but also on the results of the scholastic aptitude test (SAT). Verbal ability is an SAT subtest that assesses language management, vocabulary, and problem-solving abilities through a complete language study. This study developed a verbal ability test instrument for junior high school students consisting of the ability of synonyms, antonyms, and analogies. The data was collected from 300 junior high school students in grade nine who took a test with dichotomous data. The data analysis approach used one-order confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with correlation factors. The results showed that CFA with correlation factors indicated the construct validity of the instrument was valid with the index criteria value =446.80, df=389, p-value=0.02267, root mean squared error of approximation (RMSEA)=0.022, goodness of fit index (GFI)=0.91, adjusted goodness-of-fit (AGFI)=0.89, and comparative fit index (CFI)=0.98. Then, construct reliability has good reliability with coefficient values for each dimension of 0.93, 0.95, and 0.84. As for the composite reliability of 0.88. It shows that using the verbal ability test instrument is feasible and has a reliable scale to measure the ability of junior high school students.

Abstract

[English]: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the problem-based calculus learning model (PB-CLM) towards students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). PB-CLM is a modification of problem-based learning’s (PBL) syntax. It was a quasi-experimental with a group pretest-posttest design involving 351 11th-grade students as the population. Seventy-one students of two classes were randomly selected as a sample. Data was collected through pretest and posttest developed from three aspects of HOTS; analysis, evaluation, and synthesis. To determine the effectiveness of PB-CLM, paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) were used. The results show that students’ activities during the learning process in PB-CLM has a positive effect on increasing their HOTS (mean difference = 30.141; sig one-tailed = 0.000). Furthermore, there was no significant difference in HOTS among male and female students, both at the pretest and posttest (mean difference = 0.81731; sig.= 0.295). Likewise, the increase in HOTS scores (posttest-pretest) did not differ significantly between gender (mean difference = 0.88141; sig. one-tailed = 0.740). [Bahasa]: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan problem-based calculus learning model (PB-CLM) terhadap higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) siswa. PB-CLM merupakan modifikasi dari sintaks model problem-based learning (PBL). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan quasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest yang melibatkan 351 siswa kelas XI sebagai populasi penelitian. Tujuah puluh satu siswa dari 2 kelas dipilih secara acak sebagai sampel. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan pretest dan posttest yang dikembangkan dari 3 aspek HOTS; analisis, evaluasi, dan sintesis. Untuk mengetahui keefektifan PB-CLM digunakan paired sample t-test dan independent sample t-test dengan taraf signifikansi 5% (α = 0,05). Hasil analisis menunjukkan aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran dengan PB-CLM efektif dalam meningkatkan HOTS (mean difference = 30,141; sig.one-tailed = 0,000). Lebih lanjut, tidak ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan antara HOTS siswa laki-laki dan perempuan, baik pada pretest maupun posttest (mean difference = 0,81731; sig.= 0,295). Begitu pula peningkatan skor HOTS (posttest-pretest) juga tidak berbeda signifikan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan (mean difference = 0,88141; sig. one-tailed = 0,740).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap kemampuan problem solving siswa dan collaboration siswa, (2) untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan problem solving siswa dan collaboration yang di ajarkan dengan model pembelajaran discovery learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, jenis penelitian eksperimen quasi dan design penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design . Instumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes kemapuan problem solving dan angket collaboration siswa. Berdasarkan menggunakan uji Paired Sample T-Test. menunjukkan bahwa (1) pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran discovery learning terdapat pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan problem solving dan collaboration siswa (P_value < 0,05) (2) Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan problem solving yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran discovery learning dikategori tinggi (N_gain = 1,23) dan Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan collaboration siswa yang diajarkan model pembelajaran discovery learning dikategori sedang (N_gain = 0,17). Bahwa model pembeljaran discovery learning sebagai salah satu solusi terbaik dalam menerapkan pembelajaran matematika di kelas, terkhusus untuk meningkatkan kemampuan problem solving dan collaboration siswa. This study aims to: (1) to determine the effect of the discovery learning learning model on students' problem solving and collaboration abilities, (2) to determine the improvement of students' problem solving and collaboration skills taught with discovery learning learning models. This study uses a quantitative approach, quasi-experimental research type and research design One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research instrument used is a problem solving ability test and student collaboration questionnaire. Based on the Paired Sample T-Test test. shows that (1) learning mathematics with discovery learning learning models has a positive effect on students' problem solving and collaboration abilities (P_value < 0.05) (2) there is an increase in problem solving abilities taught by discovery learning learning models in the high category (N_gain = 1 ,23) and there is an increase in the collaboration ability of students who are taught the discovery learning learning model in the medium category (N_gain = 0.17). That discovery learning model is one of the best solutions in applying mathematics learning in the classroom, especially to improve students' problem solving and collaboration abilities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan multimedia berbasis komputer yang layak untuk pembelajaran matematika bagi siswa SMA, ditinjau dari aspek pembelajaran, aspek materi, aspek media dan persentase siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar setelah menggunakan produk multimedia pembelajaran hasil pengembangan. Pengembangan multimedia pembelajaran ini dilakukan melalui tahap analisis, desain, produksi, dan uji coba. Tahap analisis meliputi menganalisis kebutuhan siswa, memilih dan menetapkan materi pokok yang akan dikembangkan, dan mengembangkan alat evaluasi. Tahap desain meliputi pembuatan storyboard dan flowchart. Tahap produksi meliputi pengemasan produk awal ke dalam bentuk CD. Tahap uji coba terdiri atas uji oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, dan uji lapangan meliputi: uji coba satu lawan satu, uji coba kelompok kecil, dan uji coba kelompok besar. Data dari hasil uji coba dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan tes, dan  dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif. Hasil uji coba digunakan untuk memperbaiki multimedia pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk multimedia pembelajaran hasil pengembangan termasuk dalam kategori ”sangat baik”. Persentase siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar setelah menggunakan multimedia pembelajaran hasil pengembangan sebanyak 77% dan termasuk dalam kategori ”baik”.Kata kunci: pengembangan multimedia berbasis komputer, pembelajaran matematika____________________________________________________________________ DEVELOPING COMPUTER-BASED MULTIMEDIA FOR MATHEMATICS INSTRUCTION FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS Abstract This research aims to develop a feasible computer-based multimedia for mathematics instruction for senior high school students, in terms of learning, content, and media aspect and the percentage of students who master the learning material after using the developed instructional multimedia. The development of the instructional multimedia was conducted in the stages of analysis, design, production, and try out. The analysis included assessing students’ needs, selecting basic material to be developed, and developing the evaluation instrument. The design included creating a storyboard and flowchart. The production included packaging the initial product into a compact disc. The try out stage consisted of feasibility judgment by experts and the field test consisted of one-to-one try out, small-group try out and large-group try out. The result of the try out was collected by a questionnaire and test, and analyzed using the descriptive statistics. The result of the try out was used to improve the multimedia. The results of the research indicate that the developed instructional multimedia is in a “very good” category. The  percentage of the students who master the learning material after using the developed instructional multimedia is 77% and this is in  a “good” category.Keywords: developing computer-based multimedia, mathematics instruction

Abstract

During the learning process the role of the teacher is very important, the selection of the learning model to be used must be flexible which makes it easier for students to develop the ability to think mathematically. The purpose[Reviewer1] [Bdm2]  of this study was to determine the effect of learning mathematics with the numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative model on learning outcomes and to see the effect of the numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative model in improving students' critical thinking skills and collaboration. In this study using Pre-Experimental where Pre-Experimental research only involved one class as an experimental and treatment class. The subjects in this study were students in class VII D at SMP Negeri 6 Praya Timur consisting of 31 students. Data collection techniques in this study used a test consisting of a test instrument and a questionnaire instrument. The test instruments used in this study were basic competence achievement tests (KD) and critical thinking tests, while the questionnaire instruments used in this study were collaboration questionnaires. The data analysis technique in this study was hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test. The results of the study showed that the average score for achieving basic competence of students at the time of the pretest was 51.80 and the posttest was 80.73, for the average score of critical thinking during the pretest was 24.09 and the posttest was 67.58, while the score the average collaboration obtained by students during the pretest was 73.008 and the posttest was 76.875. So it was concluded that using the numbered head together (NHT) cooperative model was able to improve student learning outcomes as seen from basic competencies, and was able to support students' critical thinking skills and student collaboration.

Abstract

AbstrakMatematika menjadi salah satu ilmu yang memiliki peranan berguna dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, namun dianggap sulit oleh peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi  peserta didik dan mendukung keterampilan abad 21 yaitu Communication, Critical Thingking, dan Pemecahan masalah. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian eksperimen semu. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One Group Pretest-Posttest. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Kanisius Pakem Yogyakarta semester genap pada materi bangun datar dengan sampel sebanyak 15 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah instrumen tes dan non tes. Instrumen tes yang digunakan adalah tes critical thingking dan pemecahan masalah berupa pretest dan posttest sedangkan non-tes yang digunakan adalah angket communication.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran matematika menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dengan model pembelajaran discovery learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan communication, critical thinking dan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Kata kunci: Communication; Critical Thingking; Discovery Learning; Pemecahan masalah; Saintifik AbstractMathematics is one of the sciences that has an important role in everyday life, but is considered difficult by students.This research aims to improve student competence and support 21st century skills such as Communication, Critical Thingking, and Problem Solving. This research was carried out in class VIII of SMP Kanisius Pakem Yogyakarta even semester on flat building material with a total sample of 15 students. The instruments used in this study were in the form of test and non-test instruments. The test instruments used are critical thingking tests and problem solving in the form of pretest and posttest while the non-tests used are communication questionnaires.  The results showed that mathematics learning using a scientific approach with a discovery learning learning model can improve students' communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.Keywords: Communication; Critical Thingking; Discovery Learning; Problem Solving; Scientific
