Abstract

   Selama ini sampah selalu dianggap sebagai masalah yang lazim ditemukan pada wilayah perkotaan. Secara umum tata kelola sampah hanya memindahkan sampah dari tempat penampungan sementara (TPS) ke tempat pemrosesan akhir (TPA). Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin maju memberikan solusi alternatif pengolahan sampah menjadi sumber energi. Penerapan teknologi pengolahan sampah menjadi sumber energi terbarukan yaitu Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah (PLTSa) Kota Samarinda merupakan kota padat penduduk yang menghasilkan produksi sampah yang cukup besar. Sampah organik yang ditimbun akan mengalami proses dekomposisi secara anaerobik sehingga menghasilkan gas yang disebut dengan gas landfill yang dapat di konversikan menjadi energi listrik. Pada penelitian ini untuk mengkonversi gas landfill menggunakan teknologi gas engine dengan tipe janbacher J320 GS yang dapat meghasilkan listrik sebesar 1.063kW. Gas landfill yang dihasilkan pada TPA Sambutan Kota Samarinda mencapai nilai 684.693,866 pada tahun 2019 dan akan meningkat setiap tahunnya sampai dengan tahun 2034 dengan energi listrik yang dihasilkan 2.822.107,61 kWh pada tahun 2019 dan meningkat sampai dengan tahun 2034 dan Biaya investasi untuk pembangunan PLTSa yaitu sebesar Rp. 25.092.450.601 dengan analisis evaluasi investasi NPV= Rp.17.539.868.600, IRR= 19%, BCR= 1,672 dan PB= 3,4 Tahun. Dari hasil evaluasi tersebut diperoleh bahwa perencanaan PLTSa TPA Sambutan di Kota Samarinda dapat memenuhi kriteria kelayakan untuk dibangun.

Abstract

Tandem cyclization reaction towards menthol-citronellal hydrogenation reactions through one-step reaction with a variety of methods using pillared montmorillonite catalyst ZrO2 (Zr-MMT) have been done. The research aimed to determine the effectiveness of Zr-MMT catalyst in the reaction process with two different methods; first method comprises reacting flow system to citronellal - catalyst mixture after reflux with pressure and flow H2  of  3 kPa, and the other method consists of a flow system to the citronellal -catalyst  mixture at the  temperature of 200o C with H2  flow pressure of 2 kPa. Reaction products were analyzed using GC-MS to determine the total conversion and product yield of menthol. The results showed that the different methods give different reaction mechanisms significantly. The first method gives almost to 99% conversion of citronellal with major products of   isomenthone and isopulegol while the second method give the conversion of 5.18%  with 0.39% selectivity to menthol products. Compared with natural montmorillonite, both processes showed higher conversion in which the conversion of citronellal over montmorillonite give the concersion less than 5%. The adequacy of H2 flow rate as a reactant is an important factor affection the mechanism is discussed in this paper.

Abstract

The Evaluation of Hitachi U 2010 UV-Vis Spectrophometer performance using holmium glass  from  Starna  reference materials  and  potassium  dichromate  has  been  done.    The  aim  of investigation with holmium glass was to known wavelength work region at ultra violet and visible area,  potassium  dichromate  solution  used  to  known  photometric  performance  of  UV-Vis spectrophotometer.   The  result of  investigation used holmium glass showed wavelength peak at 241,  278,  287,  333,  360,  418,  445,  453, 459,  536  and  637  nm  regions, wich  it  is  similar with reference material.  The determination of photometric resulted by absorbance value measurement at  235,  275,  313  and  350  nm  were  0,746;  0,860;  0,294;  0,641  respectively.      The  result  of wavelength  and  photometric  investigation  showed  that Hitachi U  2010  spectrophotometer was proper to done and suitable with SR 03 KAN reference.  Keywords:  UV-Vis  Spectrophometer,  holmium  glass,  potassium  dichromate,  wavelength,

Abstract

Effect of agitation on the transesterification reaction of waste cooking oil from pecel lele food stalls around UII campus using chitosan catalyst. Transesterification reaction was done by adding 46 grams of chitosan and 123 mL metanol tothe reactor. The mixture was stirred for 30 minutes to distribute methanol into chitosan. Furthermore,500 mL (460 grams) of cooking oil (= 0.916 g / mL) was add into reactor and agitated at 65oC within two hours using 30 rpm speed . Agitation was performed with several variations of the direction of stirring , one way stirring, stirring 2 ways round the turn at intervals of 5, 10 and 15 minutes. The results show that only 49,95% methyl ester yieldwas obtained (methyl palmitate, methyl-9-octadecenoate , methyl-3-oxooctadecanoate), produced by one directional rotation. Two ways agitation gives methyl ester results on average by 30.41 % . The number of methyl ester was decreased when treated with two way stirring well in intervals of 5 seconds (30.34 %) , 10 seconds (29.97 %) and 15 seconds (30.94 %). Methyl ester product was only sligtly, presumably because the raw material is very bad used cooking oil. It can be indicated from thehigh acid number 8.11 mg/L. and the number of chemical components in addition to triglycerides which may interfere with or hinder the contact between the reactants (chitosan , methanol and triglycerides).Keywords: used cooking oil, chitosan, agitation, transesterification, methyl ester

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian penentuan ketidakpastian pengukuran kadar kafein pada biji kakao dengan metode spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Tujuan penelitian adalah penentuan ketidakpastian pengukuran kadar kafein pada biji kakao. Kafein pada ekstrak biji kakao dianalisis menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombnag 237 nm, diperoleh persamaan regresi linear Y=0,0497X + 0,0028 dengan koefisien determinan R2 0,9996. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar kafein sebesar 26,40 mg/g. Nilai LOD dan LOQ sebesar 0,52 mg/L dan 1,73 mg/L. Faktor penyumbang ketidakpastian adalah konsentrasi (c), massa (m), faktor pengenceran dan presisi dengan estimasi ketidakpastian pengukuran sebesar 3,11 mg/g. Hasil pengujian dapat dilaporakan dengan nilai 26,40 ± 3,11 mg/g.

Abstract

Di Indonesia, proses pengiriman batubara dengan kapal tongkang banyak dijumpai karena kemudahan aksesnya dimana kapal tongkang memiliki sarat air (draft) yang lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan jenis kapal lain. Penelitian ini mencoba menentukan hambatan pada kapal tanpa awak berbentuk kapal tongkang untuk beberapa kecepatan menggunakan metode CFD dengan program OpenFOAM. Metode ini mendiskritisasi persamaan Navier Stokes dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode volume hingga. Kapal tongkang digambar menggunakan perangkat lunak Maxsurf modeler sebelum diintegrasikan kedalam program CFD. Diskritisasi dilakukan dengan memastikan area sekitar lambung kapal terdiskritisasi cukup rapat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Hambatan pada kapal tongkang berkisar antara 39.39kN-227.963kN untuk kecepatan 3-9knot.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The application of role-playing learning with self-assessment had been done in the course of Laboratory Management. The application of role-playing learning with self-assessment has been done in the course of Laboratory Management. The learning of role-playing used the module scenario that has been developed based on the general requirements for the competence of testing laboratory and calibration laboratory as stipulated in SNI ISO / IEC 17025. The development of role-playing learning was done through three materials, the making of quality documents, internal audit, and management review, in which each student material will perform the role and proven by video. Self-assessment was based on the competency unit in SKKNI Field of Laboratory Testing Services MSL91600A Develop and maintain laboratory documents, MSL933002A Contribute to the achievement of quality objectives, MSL934002A Implement quality system and continuous improvement process, MSL936001A Maintain quality system and continuous improvement process in work environment, and MSL936002A Carry out internal audits of the quality system. The application of role-playing with self-assessment could give an influence to the improvement of student competency achievement in the competency unit. In class A, student's score of student's previous competency points 39.35% rose to 67.75% and class B rose from 46.51% to 68.95%. The application of role-playing in Laboratory Management could improve the learning outcomes, there is an increase in the number of students who get the value of A that is 13.04% rose to 27.42% while the number of students who got £ C decreased 7.22% i.e. from 21.74% to 14.52%. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The development of inquiry learning has been performed on Chemistry Analytic II Practicum at Chemistry Analyst Department. This study is a classroom action research using 68 students of semester 2nd. Inquiry learning development that has been implemented in general has given the results of innovation learning in vocational education programs. Development of learning innovation is particularly relevant to the competency certification systems that have been developed in Professional Certification Agency (LSP UII). The lesson plan has been done contributed to improvements in the design of learning that refers to the Indonesian National Competency Standards in 2015.The development of inquiry learning can help the achievement of student competence. Achievement of competence from the knowledge aspect is done by using written test response test data, while from the attitude and skill aspect is measured from test practice test value. Mean of achievement of knowledge competence is 57.34 and mean of attainment of competency from attitude and skill aspect is 72.06. Competence is an assessment of knowledge, attitudes and skills that can be measured. Chemical Practicum Learning Analysis II is a process of inquiry learning conducted through a series of experiments so that the learning process should be supported by the understanding of the theory concepts that get in the classroom. Practicum learning is focused on achieving the competence of work attitude which gives birth to a standardized work culture and skills must be supported with sufficient knowledge.Data supporting the achievement of student competence can be measured through self assessment in three competency units, that is MSL973002A prepare work solution, MSL974001A prepare, standardize, and use solution and MSL974003A perform testing and chemical procedure that is in accordance with this course with SKKNI Field Laboratory Testing Services from Australian Laboratory Operations Training Package (MSL09). Assessment is done after the students follow the learning process inquiry with the development of learning video. Achievement of students' average student competency Semester 2nd of Chemical Analyst Department at three units of competence is 78.52%. During the learning process practicum, students are given learning tasks in preparing work solutions including preparing, standardizing and using the solution. Achievement rates on these units were 77.30% and 79.51%.The result of the learning development that has been done can give the improvement of the learning result according to the expected target. Learning outcomes can be obtained grades A was 70.74%. Assessment of students in learning practicum is an accumulation of the value of knowledge of pre-test and test responses of writing, the value of skills and attitudes of practicum activities, preparation of reports, seminars and practice test exams.
