Abstract

The achievement of students' mathematics learning is strongly influenced by how the learning process takes place in the classroom. But, that is not the only factor that could affect learning achievement. This research aimed to describe the advantages of learning in three schools in Indonesia with highest score in TIMSS 2015 which exceed international standard score. Participants in this case study research were teachers and students from the three elementary schools, that are SD N Gunungsaren, SD N Kentungan, and SD N Semanu III in Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. Data triangulation had been conducted to test the validity of data collected by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. From the result, it can be concluded that the process of mathematics learning in the three schools implemented by involving students actively in learning activities. Each school had advantage that support the implementation of learning activities. SD N Semanu III supported by the completeness of the facilities in schools in the form of projectors that teachers use well in learning. The success of student learning in SD N Kentungan supported by parents’ involvement which providing support and facilitate children’s learning. Meanwhile, the success of learning in SD N Gunungsaren supported by teacher creativity factors developed through teacher training activities that applied in classroom.

Abstract

Perubahan teknologi yang cepat mendorong terjadinya revolusi industri 4.0 dan terbentuknya era society 5.0. Menghadapi perubahan tersebut, Indonesia perlu menyiapkan generasi muda yang berkualitas dan berkarakter. Visi dan misi pendidikan di Indonesia digambarkan dalam profil pelajar Pancasila. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proyek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila dari sudut pandang filsafat pendidikan progresivisme dan perenialisme. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode studi literatur dari buku dan artikel jurnal terindeks, baik nasional maupun internasional. Beberapa tahap yang dilakukan yaitu eligibility, screening, identification, dan analyze. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam profil pelajar Pancasila terdapat nilai-nilai yang menjadi tujuan pendidikan aliran filsafat pendidikan perenialisme dan progresivisme. Bangsa Indonesia memiliki nilai-nilai ketuhanan, moral, dan sosial untuk dijaga yang merupakan ciri filsafat pendidikan perenialisme. Untuk dapat mengikuti perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi secara global, maka Indonesia juga menerapkan pendidikan progresivisme yang tercermin dalam karakter berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Tujuan pendidikan aliran progresivisme dan perenialisme saling beririsan dan tergabung dalam profil pelajar Pancasila yang diharapkan dapat diinternalisasi oleh pelajar di Indonesia.AbstractRapid technological changes led to the industrial revolution 4.0 and the formation of the era of society 5.0. Facing these changes, Indonesia needs to prepare a young generation with quality and character. The Pancasila student profile describes the vision and mission of education in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile from the perspective of progressivism and perennials' educational philosophy. This research was conducted using the literature study method from indexed books and journal articles, both nationally and internationally. There were several stages: eligibility, screening, identification, and analysis. The study results show that in the Pancasila student profile, values are the educational goals of the educational philosophy of perennials and progressivism. The Indonesian nation has divine, moral, and social values to uphold, which are the hallmarks of perennialist educational philosophy. To keep up with the global changes, Indonesia also applies progressivism education reflected in the character of critical and creative thinking. The educational goals of progressivism and perennials flow intersect and are incorporated in the profile of Pancasila students, which are expected to be internalized by students in Indonesia.
