Abstract

This research was conducted on June-July 2009. The aim of this research is to know condition of liver’s grace Kelly fish (Cromileptes altivelis) caused by lead (Pb). The total of animal which was used in this research are 20 fish which are 5 fish in each condition. This research used a treatment which concentrations are 0 ppm, 0.05 ppm, 0.10 ppm and 0.15 ppm. The picture of liver’s fish tissue was achieved by using histology preparat, using paraffin method and coloring haematoksilin and eosin. The result of this research showed toxic effect of grace kelly fish, there are damage of liver such as fat degeneracy, hidrofik degeneracy, hemoragy, kongesty and hepatitis necrosis. Based on this result, could be gotten the conclusion that lead can influenced structure of liver’s grace Kelly fish which cause damage for the low until high level. . Keywords : Grace Kelly Fish, Histology, Liver, Metal Pb   Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Juni sampai Juli 2009.

Abstract

The quality of water was seen from the macrozoobenthos community analysis that lives in it. The purpose of this research is to know the relation N-total and C-organic in sediment with macrozoobenthos in Payung Island of Banyuasin Regency. This research uses purposive sampling method. Sampling and macrozoobenthic samples using Ekman grab. The types of macrozoobenthos found to consist of Bivalvia class (Nassarius distortus, Abra Soyae), Gastropoda (Septaria linatea, Epitonium pallasi), Polychaeta (Nereis sp) and Oligochaeta (Lumbriculus sp). The dominant macrozoobenthos composition is Nereis sp. The C-organic content in the waters sediments of Payung Island ranged from 10.52 to 17.92% (moderate to high criteria) and N-total ranged from 0.61 to 1.14% (high and very high criteria), C/N ratio ranged from 10 to 29. This indicates that sediment of Payung Island had undergone balance mineralization process and immobilization. The results of linear regression analysis show that C-organic and N-total have a positive relationship with the abundance of macrozoobenthos Kualitas suatu perairan dapat dilihat dari analisa komunitas makrozoobentos yang hidup di dalamnya.

Abstract

Sungsang IV Village is a village where most of the residents work as fishermen. The waters around this village have great fishery potential. The results of fish catches by fishermen are felt to be less than optimal due to a lack of knowledge about the latest technology in fishing. Fish Finder is one alternative that can be given to solve this problem because this tool can function to detect the presence of fish. Most of the residents of Sungsang IV Village don't know about the Fish Finder tool. This service activity aims to provide introduction and training regarding the use of Fish Finder to detect the presence of fish. The enthusiasm of the community is very visible from the number of training participants that exceeds the targeted number. This training is carried out by presenting material and direct practice of using the tool to make it easier for participants to understand the operating steps. The results of the evaluation of the questionnaire conducted showed that all participants felt very helpful with the training in the use of this Fish Finder tool.
