Abstract

Karimunjawa National Park has several types of ecosystems that hold high biodiversity potential and have not been fully recorded. Karimunjawa National Park is the habitat of flora and fauna including butterflies there. The objective of the research was the diversity of butterfly species in Karimunjawa Island. The study was conducted on August-September 2017. The method of the research using Point Count method. Data analysis using diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, and similarity index. The results showed that the index of diversity (H') of butterfly community on Karimunjawa Island has value (2.95), it indicates that the condition of the butterfly community is stable. The result of the Eveness Index obtained a high yield E = 0.76, it shows that the individual distribution of each type of butterfly on Karimunjawa Island is evenly distributed. The result of the dominant Index shows a low value (0.10), thus no dominance is concentrated on a particular type of butterfly. Analysis of similarity index of species in all habitats observed obtained results IS= 53-73%, this shows that in the three habitats observed can be inhabited by almost all butterfly species and Has an equally important role as a community of butterflies in Karimunjawa Island. Keywords: biodiversity, butterfly, Karimunjawa Island

Abstract

The Mangunharjo mangrove area is one of the mangrove ecosystems in the coastal area of Semarang City. This study aims to determine the diversity and abundance of bird species, as well as the similarity index of bird communities in the Mangunharjo mangrove area. Data were collected using the point count method in the observation area including ponds, mangroves, rice fields, and beaches. Data collection was carried out periodically from July 2019 to February 2020 with three replications in each area. The results showed that in the Mangunharjo mangrove area there were 66 species of birds from 32 families. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index in the observation area, from the highest to the lowest, were ponds 3.10 (high), mangroves 2.81 (medium), rice fields 2.75 (medium), and beaches 2.66 (moderate). The dominant bird species in the area are the Linci Swallow (15.73%) and the Little Egret (10.61%). While the areas that had the highest Sorensen species similarity index were ponds and mangroves with an index value of 62.5%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Biodiversity on Mount Ungaran electronic encyclopedia in learning Biology in the Covid-19 Pandemic Era. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest design. The instrument used was about thinking skills.  The sample in this study was 34 public school students in Central Java. The instrument used was a test of learning outcomes with 35 questions. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain test and Paired Sample t-test. The percentage analysis was used to see students’ responses to the e-encyclopedia used during the learning process. Google classroom and google meet were used in the learning process. The data analysis showed that the N-Gain result was 0.625 with a classical completeness value of 94.11%. The t-test results showed a significant difference in the pretest and post-test data with a significant value of <0.05. In addition, the response of students tested on a small scale obtained 76.90% in the high category. Therefore, the effectiveness of the electronic encyclopedia of biodiversity on Mount Ungaran was moderate.

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia is known to the world as a mega biodiversity country because it has vibrantbiodiversity. Semarang has a unique topography starting from the beaches in thecoastal areas, lowlands to hills in the southern region. The different landscapes affectthe biodiversity in Semarang City. This study aims to analyze the distribution of vegetation and create a vegetation profile of Semarang. The results showed that each species' dominant pattern in each growth rate was relatively spread. The ability to controleach species in the community was relatively balanced. The sustainability of speciesdiversity could be maintained. Besides, it is necessary to manage and preserve vegetation types that are quite dominant and have beneficial values in terms of economy, ecology, and even socio-culture in Semarang. They can become a characteristic ofSemarang as the capital of Central Java.
