Abstract

The study aims to analyze: 1) the development of poverty levels, the poverty gap index and the poverty severity index in Batang Hari Regency and Muaro Jambi Regency; 2) differences in poverty levels, poverty gap index and poverty severity index between Batang Hari Regency and Muaro Jambi Regency. The data used are secondary data for the period 2002 - 2016, sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Batang Hari Regency and Muaro Jambi Regency. Data were analyzed descriptively and used the Independent Sample T-test. The results of this study found that the average poverty rate in Batang Hari Regency during the period 2002 - 2016 was 13.37%, the poverty gap index was 1.87%, and the poverty severity index was 0.44%. In the same period, the average poverty rate in Muaro Jambi District was 6.51%, with the poverty gap index of 0.82%, and the poverty severity index of 0.17%. There were significant differences in poverty levels, the poverty gap index and the poverty severity index between Batang Hari District and Muaro Jambi District.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Know and analyze the development of economic growth, minimum wages, number of workers and poverty levels in Jambi City; and 2) To find out and analyze the influence of economic growth, minimum wages and the number of workers and poverty levels in Jambi City. The analytical tool used in this study is multiple linear regression.The results of this study are that economic growth in Jambi City experienced fluctuations during 2000-2017. The minimum wage in the city of Jambi has increased annually during 2000-2017. Labor in Jambi City experienced fluctuations during 2000-2017. The poverty rate in Jambi City experienced annual fluctuations during 2000-2017. From the results of the processed multiple linear regression that the variable economic growth, minimum wage, labor simultaneously have a significant effect on the level of poverty, it can be seen from the significant value of 0.002 which is smaller than 0.05. While partially the independent variables that influence the poverty level are minimum wages and labor, it can be seen from the significant values ​​smaller than 0.05. Abstract

Research objectives: 1) To determine the characteristics of Javanese ethnic groups in Buluran Kenali Village; 2) To find out and analyze the influence of age, origin, education level and length of stay on the income of Javanese ethnic migrant residents in the Buluran Kenali Village. The data used in this study are primary data obtained from survey results by distributing questionnaires and interviews. The analytical method used in this study is descriptive and quantitative analysis methods, using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicates that the average age of migrants is 44 years old, married with a total of 2 people, education that has completed an average of 10 years comes directly from Java, with the reason of moving to Jambi City due to family invitation and knowing the City Jambi from family/friends. From the results of multiple linear regression it is known that age, origin, level of education, length of stay have an effect on and significantly affect the income of ethnic Javanese migrants in Jambi City. Partially, age, education and length of stay influence and significantly affect the income of Javanese ethnic migrants in Jambi City, while the origin does not affect and the income of ethnic Javanese migrants in Jambi City. Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) socio-economic conditions of areca nut farmers; 2) factors that influence the production of areca nut farmers. The data used is sourced from surveys on areca nut farmers in the Sungai Gebar Barat Village. Data were analyzed descriptively and used multiple regression models. The results of the study found: 1) The average age of areca farmers in the Sungai Gebar Barat Village was 42 years. The average number of areca nut farmer family members is 4 people. Education level is dominated by senior secondary education; 2) The average production of areca nut farmers in the Sungai Gebar Barat Village is 256.94 kg per month. Land area and labor have a significant positive effect on areca nut production, while production costs and prices have no significant effect

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) the development of open unemployment, investment, wages, economic growth and inflation in Jambi Province; (2) the effect of investment, wages, economic growth and inflation on open unemployment in Jambi Province. The data used are secondary data for the period 2000 - 2016 sourced from BPS Jambi Province. Data were analyzed descriptively as well as multiple regression models. The results of the study found: 1) The average level of open unemployment in Jambi Province during 2000-2016 was 5.44 percent per year. On the other hand, in the same period, domestic investment grew by an average of 1.16 percent per year, wages grew on average by 1.54 percent per year, economic growth averaged 6.45 percent per year, inflation averaged by 8.96 percent per year, and investment grew by an average of 11.64 percent per year; 2) Simultaneously, wages, economic growth, inflation and investment have a significant effect on open unemployment. Partially wages have a positive and significant effect, economic growth has a negative and significant effect, inflation has no significant effect and investment has a negative and significant effect on open unemployment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze 1) the socio-economic characteristics of fish traders 2) the effect of capital, working hours and business experience on income of fish traders. This research is survey research. The population in this study were fish traders in the two Kuala Tungkal markets namely Parit 1 Market and Parit Market 2. The sampling technique was saturated sample technique. Data were analyzed descriptively and multiple regression analysis models. The results of the study found that fish traders in Kuala Tungkal were characterized by the dominance of ages between 30-36 years, a low education level, generally married status, with a burden of 1-2 people. Fish traders' business capital ranges from Rp. 3 million to more than Rp. 100 million, with dominant working hours between 180 - 230 hours per month, and business experience between 1-5 years. The income of fish traders ranges from Rp. 1.4 million to Rp. 11.5 million with the largest proportion between Rp. 2.1 million to Rp. 3.8 million. Simultaneously, capital, working hours and business experience have a significant effect on the income of fish traders. Partially, capital and business experience have a significant effect while working hours have no significant effect on the income of fish traders.
