Abstract

Study are as follows: To analyze the effect of economic growth, poverty level, government expenditure and open unemployment on the Human Development Index (HDI) of the Provincial Provinces in Sumatra for the period 2013-2017. Based on the results of the study that economic growth has a significant effect on the human development index. Poverty level has a significant effect on the human development index. Open unemployment has a significant effect on the human development index. Government expenditure has a significant effect on the Human Development Index. Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) the development of open unemployment, investment, wages, economic growth and inflation in Jambi Province; (2) the effect of investment, wages, economic growth and inflation on open unemployment in Jambi Province. The data used are secondary data for the period 2000 - 2016 sourced from BPS Jambi Province. Data were analyzed descriptively as well as multiple regression models. The results of the study found: 1) The average level of open unemployment in Jambi Province during 2000-2016 was 5.44 percent per year. On the other hand, in the same period, domestic investment grew by an average of 1.16 percent per year, wages grew on average by 1.54 percent per year, economic growth averaged 6.45 percent per year, inflation averaged by 8.96 percent per year, and investment grew by an average of 11.64 percent per year; 2) Simultaneously, wages, economic growth, inflation and investment have a significant effect on open unemployment. Partially wages have a positive and significant effect, economic growth has a negative and significant effect, inflation has no significant effect and investment has a negative and significant effect on open unemployment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze 1) the socio-economic characteristics of fish traders 2) the effect of capital, working hours and business experience on income of fish traders. This research is survey research. The population in this study were fish traders in the two Kuala Tungkal markets namely Parit 1 Market and Parit Market 2. The sampling technique was saturated sample technique. Data were analyzed descriptively and multiple regression analysis models. The results of the study found that fish traders in Kuala Tungkal were characterized by the dominance of ages between 30-36 years, a low education level, generally married status, with a burden of 1-2 people. Fish traders' business capital ranges from Rp. 3 million to more than Rp. 100 million, with dominant working hours between 180 - 230 hours per month, and business experience between 1-5 years. The income of fish traders ranges from Rp. 1.4 million to Rp. 11.5 million with the largest proportion between Rp. 2.1 million to Rp. 3.8 million. Simultaneously, capital, working hours and business experience have a significant effect on the income of fish traders. Partially, capital and business experience have a significant effect while working hours have no significant effect on the income of fish traders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socio-economic characteristics and inequality of income of street vendors in Kuala Tungkal City. The data used is sourced from surveys at street vendors. Data were analyzed descriptively and used the gini coefficient and lorentz curve. The results of the study found that street vendors in Kuala Tungkal City were characterized by: 1) Dominated by men with the highest proportion of ages between 26 - 45 years. Merchant education is relatively varied ranging from never going to school to graduating from high school. More than two thirds of them are married with the number of family dependents dominated by 1-4 people. In terms of business location, almost three-quarters of them operate in the market area and only about a quarter of them are trying along the main road. The capital of street vendors in the city of Kuala Tungkal is relatively varied from Rp. 50,000 to over Rp. 1,000,000, with more than half having the same capital or less than Rp. 550,000. Furthermore, in terms of income, most street vendors have an income of Rp. 151,000 - 250,000; 2) Using the method of class three class, the inequality of income of street vendors in the low category with a gini ratio of 0.22772. Furthermore, using the class five class method, the inequality of income of street vendors is also in the low category with a gini ratio of 0.2

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leading sectors in the economy in Batanghari Regency. This study uses secondary data for the period 2011-2017, sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of Jambi Province and Batanghari Regency. The analysis tools used are Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and Shift Share analysis. The results of the study found that the leading sectors in Batanghari Regency are the manufacturing industry sector, the government administration sector, defense, compulsory social security, and the education service sector.
