Abstract

ABSTRACTApis dorsata Fabr is one of the insects that benefit humans , especially itcan produce honey . Honey bee colony consists of a queen bee , drones and  bees worker. Apis dorsata in life is influenced by the environment one food source availability . Related with that have done research on the plant visit Apis dorsata Fabr bees worker ( Hymenoptera : Apidae ) in Palangki Kecamatan IV Kabupaten Sijunjung on April 2013 with the aim to determine which plants visited by bees Apis  dorsata  Fabr  workers  in  Palangki  Kecamatan  IV  Nagari  Kabupaten Sijunjung . This study uses direct observation of plants visited by bees field workers . The study was conducted one month , once a week starting from 06.00 until 18.00 with a distance of 500 meters from the tree where the colony of Apis dorsata . From the results of research on plant visit Apis dorsata Fabr bees worker ( Hymenoptera : Apidae ) in Palangki Kecamatan IV Nagari Kabupaten Sijunjung within a radius of 500 meters to 30 species and 16 familia . Familia is most commonly found in plants visited Apis dorsata Fabr bees worker ( Hymenoptera : Apidae ) in   Palangki Kecamatan IV Nagari Kabupaten Sijunjung familia Leguminoceae is composed of nine species.

Abstract

ABSTRACTFly is kind on insect that include subordo Cyclorrapha, ordo Diptera is often we found in our activities and kind of surroundings. It bring microorganisme, virus, bactery, protozoa, and egg of worm. It is usually lived in a wet and damp place. Based on the researched about kind of fly (Cyclorrapha: Diptera) in location of fresh-fish sell in Padang City. This research have purposes to knowing kind of fly (Cyclorrapha: Diptera) in location of fresh-fish sell in Padang City. It is do in june-august 2013. It is survey of research and description analysis with identify at laboratorium. Taken sample is doing at three place such as: Pasar Raya, Pasar Bandar Buat dan Pasar Lubuk Buaya, and identification at laboratorium Taksonomi animal Biology FMIPA Universitas Andalas. From the final of research about kind of fly (Cyclorrapha: Diptera) in location of fresh-fish sell in Padang City can found five species of fly that include in three family and one subordo. Species of fly that found is Musca domestica, Chrysomya megacephala, Lucillia sp., Calliphora sp., Sarcophaga sp., and species that dominat is Musca domestica.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBactrocera dorsalis is one of the flies that are very harmful for horticulture crops. Farmers usually use chemicals to control the flies, but the way this has a negative impact on the environment. So needed another way to use a more environmentally friendly attractants such as plants that contain methyl eugenol, such as clove (Eugenia aromatica L.). Based on these problems then do research on the effect of extracts of clove (Eugenia aromatica L.) Against Fruit Fly Bactrocera dorsalis Hend. visit. This research is experimental, with 4 treatments and 6 replications. The study was conducted from July to September 2013. Data from studies conducted with mixed analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the F value obtained is greater than F table, means treatment gives significant effect on the number of flies that enter the trap. So proceed with Test BNJ 5 %. From BNJ test shows that treatment A (1 ml), B (2 ml), and treatment C (3 ml) having the same effect on the number of fruit flies that enter the trap. While treatment D (4 ml) was able to make a lot more fruit flies trapped. It can be concluded that the higher dose of clove extract on the treatment given, the more potent for berkunjungnya fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis in a trap.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of insect pests that attack the rice plant is Leptocorisa acuta Thunb ( ladybugs stink ) . Local people know Leptocorisa as pianggang acuta Thunb . This pest attacks the rice in a productive phase by sucking fluids rice fruit . These pests can cause grain to be empty will result in a decrease in yield . In connection with that have done research on population density Leptocorisa  acuta Thunb on rice plants from 25 until May 26, 2013 . Sampling was done at Koto Nan Tigo Kenagarian district Batang Kapas South Coastal District with a descriptive surve y method and the direct collection of the Leptocorisa acuta Thunb that existed at the study site by way sweepan ( sweeping ) . Collection by using systematic random sampling  technique  sampling  .  Decision  made  for 2  days  in a row 2  times  ( morning and afternoon ) on flowering phase and phase cook milk . Decision made at 15 points  in each  phase  . The results  were  obtained  an average  population density is 33.93 Leptocorisa acuta perpengambilan tail . In this case acuta Thunb Leptocorisa population had crossed the threshold .

Abstract

ABSTRACT The population caterpillar onions ( Spodoptera exigua ) on red onion can reduce onion yield . In connection with the matter has done research on the population density of Spodoptera exigua ( Lepidoptera : Noctuidae ) on red onion in Kampung Batu kecamatan danau kembar kabupaten solok which aims to determine the population density of Spodoptera exigua on red onion in Kampung Batu kecamatan danau kembar kabupaten solok.This research was conducted in August-September 2013, with a descriptive survey method is by way of direct collection of the larvae of Spodoptera exigua existing research the location. Field sampling conducted on red onion age of 4 weeks and 6 weeks after planting. Physical environmental factors measured the temperature and humidity. Widely used as a study area of about 30 x 20 m.The results were obtained an average population density of Spodoptera exigua on shallot in Kampung Batu kecamatan danau kembar kabupaten solok was 4.05 individuals / plant. Spodoptera exigua population densities are found already crossed the threshold of pest control.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Apis dorsata bees are social insect, which in a normal colony consists of caste is a queen several hundread males and several thousand workers. Hive of honey Apis dorsata bees contains eggs, larva, pupa, pollen, honey and sometimes water. In connection with that have done research on the existence of colonies Apis dorsata Fabr. Agregation population(Hymenotera: Apidae) in Sijunjung. April – June 2013 with the aim to determine the existence of population colonies Apis dorsata Fabr. Agregation in Sijunjung. This study uses a descriptive survey methos by observing colonie of Apis dorsata Fabr. Agregation directly of the kapok tree is by counting the number of active colonies, colonies are moved and the relationship of physical environment factors. The results of research is got the number of active colonies that is at most 14 active colonies and at 3 colonies. Where the number af active colonies are most commonly found on branches 1-2 and on the twigs 1-2 while the number at least on branches 9-10, and number of colonies that move is 7 colonies were found on branches 1- 2. Number of colonies that are mostly found  in April, while the at least in June. Nesting trees that are in Palangki 1 m and Pasar Jum’at 30 cm.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLemongrass is one of the favorite plants in Indonesia, which is often used by humans for cooking ingredients in addition to the lemon grass is also often used as ingredients of medicines . But the lemongrass plant has never been used as a vegetable fruit fly attractant material when compounds contained in the lemongrass was able to lure pests tanaman one methyl eugenol which is preferable by one insect Bactrocera dorsalis Hend . Based on the problems it has done research on the effect of lemongrass extract ( Andropogon nardus L. ) Fruit Fly Control Against Bactrocera dorsalis Hend . This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Zoology STKIP PGRI Padang West Sumatra in July-August , 2013, this study used a completely randomized design ( CRD ) with 4 treatments and 6 replicates of each concentration was 1 ml , 2 ml , 3 ml , 4 ml . From the research that has been carried out showed that the extract of lemongrass attractant effect on fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis . On the activity of the flies the fastest time to reach the fruit fly extracts is on IV treatment while the longest time in treatment I. Analysis of variance results showed that there is a difference in treatment between the F count > F table which means treatment significantly affect fruit fly attractant Bactrocera dorsalis Hend.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCylas formicarius is pest that damage of sweet potato plants. These pest damage part of tuber, stem and leaf. The form attack toward tuber of sweet potato, cause the tuber yet hollow, on leaf will cause leaf hollow, and the stem will look damage and easily wilt. Relative to the problem, than has done research with the title pest density Boleng population (Cylas formicarius) (Coleoptera: Curculiodae) on the sweet potato plants in Taluak Dalam at Kanagarian Alahan Panjang Kecamatan Lembah Gumanti Kabupaten Solok. Using census sampling method in a way to make the square from measuring 1m x 1m. The result showed that the difference between stadia larva with stadia imago. The number of individuals on stadia larva is 256 tail/m² with andaverage 10,24/m², and then the number of individuals on stadia imago 177 tail/m² with and average 7,08/m². This can be regarded as pests because it resulted in decreased quality and production of sweet potato plants.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  A. dorsata bees is one of the bees only growing forest region in the subtropical and tropical Asia and is not found outside of Asia . A. dorsata living in a colony , consisting of a queen bee, bees worker , and drones  bees measuving morphological characteristics of the bee is very important for bee taxonomist to put some type of bee into a particular caste , in the measurement of morphological characters of  bees worker is always selected as the sample trial because the worker bees every day activities related to the environment where the bees. In connection with that have done research on Morphology Study bees worker Apis dorsata Fabr . ( Hymenoptera : Apidae ) Sijunjung Aggregation in April- May 2013 with the aim to determine the morphology of A. dorsata worker aggregation . This research uses descriptive survey method is by way of direct collection of A. dorsata were found in the location study . than  morphometric measurements in the laboratory . From the results of research on morphological studies of worker bees Apis dorsata Fabr . ( Hymenoptera : Apidae) ) in Sijunjung aggregation is derived morphological characters of different sizes in Cu a real , Rs1 , R4 , NH , Ti , while highly significant in R1 .

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the pests that attack the rice plant is Scotinophara coarctata (Ladybug stink) of the family Pentatomidae, local people know Scotinophara coarctata as bedbug Land. Bedbug soil pests attacking rice plants at the vegetative stage and tillering phase  generative, form of attack Scotinophara coarctata in rice plants at tillering fese make rice plants become stunted and  the generative fese make grain be empty. Based on this, the study aims to determine the population density of bedbug ground (Scotinophara coarctata) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) on rice plants in Rantau Panjang Kecamatan Sasak  Ranah Pasisie West Pasaman. In connection with that have done research on bedbug Population Density Land ( Scotinophara coarctata ) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) At Rice on 13-14 September 2013. Sampling was conducted in the area Rantau Panjang Kecamatan Sasak Ranah Pasisie West Pasaman Census Method using Paste Trap (Sticky Trap) to Scotinophara coarctata that existed at the study site. Sampling was carried out 2 times on wet soil conditions and the dry land in the morning and afternoon. Generated from research on the wet ground which is obtained by 544 pieces and imago nimpha stadia with an average density of  10.88 and on dry land acquired 475 flat tail - nimpha and adult of average density 9.5. Hopefully in further studies to doing research on how to conduct Scotinophara coarctata on rice plants.Â
