Abstract

This time, rattan bark fiber’s used in furniture industries and home industries because it is easy to get, cheap,not to be danger for our health, and it can lesson environment pollution (biodegradability); so, with exploit ascomposites lasing fibre, later, it can overcome the environment problem. The rattan bark development ascomposite material has already know, in view of the raw material of natural fibre (rattan) available, Indonesiahas many raw material. From this case, this research conducted to get technical analysis of tensile strength andbending from rattan bark fibre composite that is using woven roving treatment of variation matting pattern onfibre direction 0º/90º and 45º angles as polyester resin matrix.The purpose of this research is: to identify the tensile strength and bending of composite of rattan bark fibrewhich influence fibre direction between 0º/90º and 45º angles. From the result of specimen trial is served intensile strength and bending, and compared with tensile strength and bending value which permitted by BKI (Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia) as theory of standardization trial. On the research, the writer found composite thathave rattan bark fibre compared 0º/90º and 45º angle of fibre direction, the treatment of matting pattern fibre,volume fraction 42,8% matrix polyester and 57,2% rattan bark fibre to specimen of tensile strength trial,volume fraction 50% matrix polyester and 50% rattan bark fibre to specimen bending trials. Conducted handlay up method, from the result study found the price maximum of tensile strength has got by composite with0º/90º and 45º fibre direction and maximum bending has got by composite with 45º fibre direction.

Abstract

Abstract

Kapal jenis speed boat merupakan kapal yang sering digunakan sebagai kapal penyelamat sehingga perlu pengembangan untuk mengetahui lebih dalam interaksi tahanan pada lambung kapal agar tercapainya kapal dengan stabilitas serta tahanan yang lebih baik. Kapal Motor Safinatul ‘Is ‘Aaf merupakan salah satu model kapal speed boat katamaran (lambung ganda) yang dirancang untuk menunjang pariwisata di wilayah Pantai Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih detail interaksi tahanan total pada lambung kapal K.M Safinatul ‘Is ‘Aaf dengan pendekatan Computational Fluid Dynamic. Dalam melaksanakan penelitian dilakukan beberapa tahapan yaitu pembuatan model pada Computational Fluid Dynamic, input data simulasi, running simulasi hingga konvergen, kemudian analisa hasil dengan metode Slender Body, CFD serta metode Insel and Molland. Analisa hasil meliputi  analisa hambatan, dan analisa fluida pada simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamic. Berdasarkan hasil analisa dan perhitungan didapatkan hasil analisa yang  menunjukkan bahwa hambatan total kapal (Rt) pada saat kecepatan kapal 29 knots Berdasarkan hasil analisa dan perhitungan yang dilakukan penulis dengan 3 dengan menggunakan metode CFD sebesar 10,85 kN, metode Slender Body sebesar 9.63 kN dan perhitungan secara analitik dengan metode Insel and Molland sebesar 12.05 kN. Sedangkan dari hasil simulasi dengan menggunakan analisa CFD, dapat diketahui bahwa pada saat kapal berjalan dengan kecepatan tinggi maka ketinggian aliran fluida atau gelombang air yang ditimbulkan akan lebih besar dari kapal yang berjalan dengan kecepatan rendah

Abstract

Vessel is an effective and efficient medium of sea transportation because it can transport goods in a large number. In planing and constructing the vessel, therefore, it is not only striven to be economical without decreasing its function, instruction of classification, and contruction power, but also simple to get the treatment. It will make the vessel more durable and the condition of equipment structure more stable to support the operation. One the important project and construction is to determine materials that will be used on the vessel. Pipe is a dominant component in operational system of each activator engine. Besides, it is as medium to transfer bold fluid and gas from a space to another space. Hence, it is important to protect the pipe from decreasing function which is caused by corrosion, so that damages the pipe. Considering the high vessel reparation fee, it is better to shade the pipe from the damages. The most efficient and the easiest protection and treatment to reduce corrosion in a pipe system is by using Galvanized method

Abstract

Kebisingan adalah bunyi yang tidak diinginkan dari usaha atau kegiatan dalam tingkat dan waktu tertentu yang dapat menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan manusia dan kenyamanan lingkungan. Sumber kebisingan suara terbesar di kapal adalah di ruang mesin. Kebisingan dengan tingkat intensitas tinggi yang tidak disadari menyebabkan dampak serius bagi ABK serta ketidaknyamanan untuk setiap penumpang. Dengan begitu perlu adanya peredaman kebisingan suara agar didapatkan lingkungan yang sehat

Abstract

The influence of mechanic disposition, is one of the factor influence ship strength. This influence can be test by mechanical test in welding butt joint. The result test database analysis can be conclude that very helpful to increase safety and quality butt joint. With steel specification C= 0,15%, Si= 0,24%, Mn= 0,88%,P= 0,018%, S= 0,034%. This material give a 90, 110, 125 ampere with SMAW AC electrode diameter 3,2 mm x 350 mm with V root and 600 angle In the fabrication of mild steel products, components or equipment, manufacturers employ welding as the principal joining method. Mild steel are weldable materials, and a welded joint can provide optimum corrosion resistance, strength, and fabrication economy. However, designers should recognize that any metal, including stainless steels, may undergo certain changes during welding. It is necessary, therefore, to exercise a reasonable degree of care during welding to minimize or prevent any deleterious effects that may occur, and to preserve the same degree of corrosion resistance and strength in weld zone that is an intheren part of the base metal

Abstract

Penggunaan kayu untuk industri terus mengalami peningkatan baik untuk pemakain structural maupun non structural. Permintaan akan kayu tersebut tidak dapat terpenuhi akibat kurangnya kualitas kayu yang baik. Disisi lain pemanfaatan bambu selama ini belum optimal walapun hasil beberapa penelitian menunjukan bahwa bamboo memiliki kekuatan dan keunggulan dibandingkan dengan material bangunan lainya. Maka dilakukan penelitian tentang laminasi bambu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai kadar air, kerapatan, kuat Tarik, MOR, modulus elastisitas dari laminasi bambu petung kombinasi bambu apus akibat pengaruh suhu kempa (80°C, 100°C, 120°C, 130°C, 140°C). Dalam penelitian ini dibuat balok laminasi bambu petung kombinasi bambu apus untuk uji kuat tarik mengacu pada standar  SNI 03-3399-1994  dan uji kuat lentur mengacu pada standar SNI 03- 3960- 1995. Hasil penelitian untuk untuk pengujian Tarik memiliki kadar air rata-rata 11.81 %, berat jenis terbesar 0.7294 g/cm³ untuk suhu kempa 140°C, kekuatan tarik rata-rata sebesar 97.84 Mpa untuk suhu kempa 120°C. untuk laminasi bambu untuk pengujian lentur memiliki nilai kadar air rata – rata sebesar 11.58%, berat jenis sebesar 0.7219 g/cm³ untuk suhu kempa 140°C, modulus of repture sebesar 101.59 Mpa untuk suhu kempa 140°C  , modulus elastisitas 9171 Mpa untuk suhu kempa 140°C.

Abstract

At this moment, weld engineering is applied widely in tacking on joints at construction of steel building, especially at ship building. All important in weld engineering is when process tacking on weld metal with steel metal to be one unities. It mean, the strength of metal result by welded must equal to the original metal. Generally, that thing is inaccessible cause by weld defect formed. Result of survey in JMI indicates that often happened problem at weld joint part of construction of hull causing existence of fraction or crack at the division. Because, hull is main part which received many forces, in water compressive force ( hydrostatic ) and ship attractive force on top of wave ( sagging ) and or in trough of wave ( hogging ). Even, at the moment of ship in full cargo condition or when at dock, ship must can maintain the selfish strength. In the research, will be checked weld defect influence incomplete penetration and porosity formed at SMAW method, evaluated from tensile and compressive strength as the application of force received by ship.from the result, indicates that tensile strength is optimum happened at the normal joint plate without heat treatment about 464, 50 Mpa, while tensile strength is lowest at joint plate condition of heat treatment 6000 C about 351,23 Mpa. for optimal of compressive strength happened at normal joint of plate without heat treatment about 872, 17 N/mm2, while compressive strength is lowest at joint plate condition of heat treatment 3000 C about 684 N/mm2. In this experiment, weld defect of incomplete penetration and porosity is not too effect a weld joint strength caused all to fracture happen in base metal is not it in weld joint or weld metal, however for all weld defect must be minimizes

Abstract

Welding Inspector seringkali bekerja di tempat yang sama dengan tukang las mempunyai resiko terkena kecelakaan kerja seperti: terkena aliran listrik, jatuh, radiasi, mata terkena sinar ultra violet, dan partikel/debu di udara, asap dan gas serta kejatuhan benda-benda. Maka keselamatan kerja seorang welding inspector tidak boleh dipandang ringan. Welding Inspector dan pekerja lain yang bekerja di tempat pemotongan dan pengelasan harus memperhatikan semua faktor keselamatan, seperti penggunaan kacamata las, topi kerja/helm, pakaian kerja/wehrpak, sarung tangan kulit dan peralatan lain.
