Abstract

Fierce competition encourages companies to make continuous improvements to achieve better working efficiency. One method to improve the working efficiency is using the concept of lean manufacturing. The efficiency of the existing work in PT. Rimba Kencana is still not good because there are many processes that are not uniform and because of that, production lead time is increased. By using value stream mapping and value stream analysis tools (VALSAT), the production processes in the company are mapped into the current state mapping and future state mapping. In the current state mapping, the total value of production lead time is 59.49 days and the value of process cycle efficiency (PCE) is 0.013%. After doing improvement on welding department, the total value of production lead time decreased to 48.22 days and the value of process cycle efficiency becomes 0.016%. Abstract

Wirausaha Muda Bernas is the Entrepreneurs Development Program at Universitas Ma Chung which is supported by a entrepreneurship grant from The Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higfer Education. The program is implementing the overall formation of entrepreneurial activities ranging from the formation of mindset, development of business ideas, until the incubation program therein do mentoring, training and coaching that covering all aspects of business. Aspects that include product development, feasibility study, market research, strategy and production technology, management and business development, marketing and promotion strategy as well as supporting other aspects such as business licenses, financial management, tax, legal and law, intellectual property rights, environmental aspect, and halal certification. Tenant will then be facilitated and pushed to have a sustain business. All the activities of training and coaching are done a team consisting of lecturers and practitioners who are competent in the field of entrepreneurship. To cover all aspects of entrepreneurship, the team will be assisted by several other facilitators consisting of lecturer, practitioners who are competent in their respective field and entrepreneurs who have been successful with their business. Hopefully this program will not only give birth to young entrepreneurs fostered independently of tenants, but also the formation of an independent institution and sustainable entrepreneurship unit that serves to build entrepreneurship among students at the Universitas Ma Chung as well as many comprehensive young entrepreneurs. Hopefully this small action can contribute to the development of entrepreneurship in Indonesia.

Abstract

Occupational accident is one thing that should be avoided, considering occupational accident has very harmful effects for boh the company and the labours. Dewa-Dewi Farm is a poultry farm which has four main divisions, which is mixing division is one of them. There are 5 main activities in mixing division, such as receiving and testing, weighing, grinding, mixing and distributing the feed. All work activities work in mixing division potentially bring out accidents. Identify Hazards is necessary to minimize accidents. Hazard identification and risk analysis (HIRA) is a method of identifying hazards potential that may occur in a job. By using HIRA known that the five main activities potentially face risk of occupational accident such as earaches, muscle injury, shortness of breath, sore eyes, slipping, falling, strucking, electric shock, burns and skin allergies. After identifying the problem with HIRA method is completed then carried out a risk assessment based on two criteria: likelihood (probability) and severity (impact) should be done. Based on the risk assessment there are 2 extreme-risk, 7 high risk, 4 medium- risk and 12 low-risk activities. The next method used is Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) which is a method of error analysis by direct observation and interviews, which then were visualized with a model of the fault tree. Analysis of the causes of accidents using FTA method shows the source of the risks posed by unsafe action and unsafe condition that is the wrong way of working and poor working environment. There are several recommendations given such as instructional the best way about manual lifting, provision of tools and personal protective equipment, and improve the working environment. Abstract

Small and Medium Food Industries (SMFIs) play an important role in the national economy but its competitiveness is low due to the limited innovation applied by business managers. Current innovation research is partial and excludes disruptive innovation and sustainable competitiveness. This research fills the gap by developing a model for increasing the competitiveness of SMFIs based on disruptive innovation and identifying constraints faced by SMFIs if the model is implemented. Data was collected through Focus Group Discussions and surveys using questionnaires. With a model framework approach, the model is composed of six subsystems, namely input, production process, post production, marketing, and supporting institutions. The potential for disruptive innovation lies in the quality of functional food products and low production costs because resources are available locally. However, the potential for disruptive innovation has not been utilized optimally by SMFI due to various obstacles. The role of government is very important to optimize the competitiveness potential of SMFI.

Abstract

The manufacturing industries in Indonesia have been improving rapidly thus make the industries to be in ore competitive environment. This research is conducted to design a refinement or quality improvement for paving products in PT. Malang Indah. The quality improvement is done with Taguchi method experimental design in order to get optimal mixture combination. As for the orthogonal array notation used is L9 (34) with cement (A), fly ash (B), and sand (C) as the controlling factors. The data processing will be done with ANOVA calculation towards the average value and SNR with larger the better as classification. The ANOVA calculation is done in order to find out the significantly influential factors in product durability. The test done to find out the product durability is a pressure test which is done with compression machine. According to the result of data processing, the ratio of optimal mixture composition cement: fly ash: sand is 1:3:6 (A1, B2, and C3). A confirmation experiment will be done to the optimal composition during the control stage to find out the validity. According to the calculation in confirmation experiment, the result for pressure durability is 450,117 kg/cm2 which indicate the quality of paving category a based on SNI 03-0691-1996. Abstract

KSP KusumaArtha Lestari (KAL) is one of the credit unions in Malang and is engaged in providing financial services to its members. Over the last four years, the amount of loans KAL could distribute decreased. The decline may be caused due to the services quality provided by KAL does not meet consumer expectations. The measurement of service quality with Fuzzy- Servqual questionnaire and gap analysis methods, it was found that there are ten KAL’s service quality attributes that do not meet consumer expectations and need to be improved. Using Importance Performance Analysis, attributes that will be improved are determined, they are accessible location, availability of media published products KAL offered, the queue at the customer service, clear information employee can give to consumers, and the consumer complaints feedback quickness. By the Quality Function Deployment analysis, the improvement recommendations made. The recommendation are to add special customer service, to provide a suggestion box, to make documentation on consumer complaints, to maximize shuttle service, to open new branch office and improve its effectiveness, to add amount of media information, to add amount of information on every media, and to provides an indicator of the service quickness.
