Abstract

This research aims to describe the mathematical representation ability of students grade XI in online learning through a flipped classroom which was assisted by learning videos. It employed the mixed method specifically the concurrent embedded design. The subject of the research was determined based on the self-efficacy score from a self-efficacy questionnaire of the students grade XI at SMA N 1 Selomerto, Wonosobo. The tests, questionnaires and interviews were employed to collect the data. The effect of self-efficacy on mathematical representation ability was analyzed based on a simple linear regression test. The results showed that (1) students with high self-efficacy were able to master all indicators of mathematical representation well compared to students with moderate and low self-efficacy; (2) self-efficacy has a positive effect on the mathematical representation ability in online learning through flipped classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of cultural integration on the productivity of Mathematics and Natural Sciences students during the implementation of distance learning. The culture integrated into this research is a habit that becomes a society's tradition in behaving. The research problem is about the integration of culture on character formation, which impacts student productivity. The study used mixed methods with quantitative data from questionnaires and qualitative data from interviews and document analysis. The research targets are 344 students filled out the questionnaire. After the questionnaire data was analyzed, it was deepened through interviews. The relationship test between character strengthening and students' productivity obtained a correlation coefficient value of 0.59, indicating that the correlation between variables is quite strong. Internalization of cultural values into forming students' characters in distance lectures and activities is carried out through habituation. The selection of online application media refers to the ease of access, students' common use, and ease of operation. The research concludes that students' characters contribute to building students' self-awareness to be productive.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) tingkat ketuntasan secara individual dan klasikal kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) berbantuan kartu masalah; (2) perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) berbantuan kartu masalah dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa pada kelas kontrol dan tidak diterapkan model SSCS berbantuan kartu masalah. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Wiradesa tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Teknik sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah cluster random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain posttest only control design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa dengan penerapan  model pembelajaran SSCS berbantuan kartu masalah mencapai kriteria ketuntasan; (2) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran  SSCS berbantuan kartu masalah lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa pada kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tingkat berpikir kreatif pada geometri siswa SMP Kelas VII ditinjau dari gaya kognitif dalam setting Problem Based Learning. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes berpikir kreatif matematika dan wawancara. Analisis tes berpikir kreatif matematika mengacu pada tiga komponen berpikir kreatif yaitu kefasihan, fleksibilitas, dan kebaruan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah tahap reduksi data, tahap penyajian data, tahap verifikasi dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tingkat berpikir kreatif siswa ditinjau dari gaya kognitif reflektif diperoleh hasil tingkat berpikir kreatif (TBK) 3 yang berarti kreatif, (2) tingkat berpikir kreatif siswa ditinjau dari gaya kognitif impulsif diperoleh tingkat berpikir kreatif (TBK) 1 yang berarti kurang kreatif dan tingkat berpikir kreatif (TBK) 4 yang berarti sangat kreatif.

Abstract

Artikel ini didasarkan pada penelitian kualitatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan (1) tipe kesalahan siswa berdasarkan prosedur Newman yang dilakukan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Wonosobo dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pemecahan masalah; (2) penyebab kesalahan siswa tersebut; dan (3) solusi untuk meminimalkan kesalahan tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode tes dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian diambil 6 orang dari 32 siswa kelas VII E, masing-masing terdiri dari 2 siswa dari kelompok atas, sedang, bawah. Uji keabsahan data, dilakukan dengan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) semakin tinggi kategori pada prosedur Newman maka semakin banyak kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa, subjek pada kelompok atas mengalami kesalahan pada tahap transfomasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan, subjek pada kelompok sedang mengalami kesalahan pada tahap trasformasi dan penulisan, serta subjek pada kelompok bawah mengalami kesalahan pada tahap memahami dan transformasi; (2) penyebabnya yaitu siswa tidak utuh dalam mengidentifikasi informasi yang diketahui dan yang ditanyakan, tidak tepat memanipulasi aljabar dari soal, kesalahan dalam melakukan operasi aljabar, tidak membuat kesimpulan, serta siswa tersebut tidak sengaja melakukan kesalahan namun siswa tersebut dapat memperbaiki kesalahannya; dan (3) solusi untuk meminimalkan kesalahan tersebut yaitu siswa perlu lebih banyak dilatih untuk menyelesaikan soal-soal tidak rutin sehingga siswa akan terampil dalam menyelesaikannya

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas pembelajaran matematika dalam setting problem based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas XI SMK, mendeskripsikan tingkat kecemasan matematik siswa dalam mengikuti pelajaran matematika dalam setting problem based learning, dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah berdasarkan tingkat kecemasan matematik. Metode penelitian ini adalah mixed methods. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI TKKB SMKN 10 Semarang. Selanjutnya dipilih 6 siswa dari masing-masing kemampuan pemecahan masalah berdasarkan tingkat kecemasan matematik. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi, dokumentasi, tes, dan wawancara. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis kualitas pembelajaran, analisis tingkat kecemasan matematik, analisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh: kualitas pembelajaran dalam setting problem based learning dalam kategori baik, tingkat kecemasan matematik siswa kelas XI SMKN 10 Semarang sebelum pembelajaran matematika adalah rendah, pada saat kegiatan pembelajaran adalah tinggi, dan setelah kegiatan pembelajaran adalah rendah, untuk tingkat kecemasan sebelum tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah adalah rendah, dan setelah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah adalah tinggi, dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang tingkat kecemasan matematik rendah lebih baik dari pada siswa yang tingkat kecemasan matematiknya tinggi. This research aimed to describe the quality of mathematics teaching in the setting of problem based learning to problem­solving ability of class XI student of SMK, the level of mathematics anxiety of students in participating in the setting math problem based learning, and the problem­solving abilities by mathematics anxiety levels. This research method is mixed methods. Subjects in this research is a class XI of SMKN 10 Semarang TKKB. Furthermore, selected 6 students from each the ability of solving mathematical problems based on the level of mathematics anxiety. Methods of data collection in this study is the method of observation, documentation, testing, and interviews. Analysis of the data in this study is an analysis of the quality of learning, mathematical anxiety level analysis, analytical problem solving capabilities, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study were obtained: the quality of learning in the setting of problem based learning in both categories, the anxiety level math class XI student of SMKN 10 Semarang before learning of mathematics is low, when the learning activity is high, and after the learning activity is low, to the level of anxiety before test problem­solving ability is low, and after a test problem­solving ability is high, and the ability of student mathematics problem solving mathematical anxiety levels low is better than the students who are high­level mathematical anxiety

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) kualitas pembelajaran matematika dengan model 4K terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan karakter mandiri siswa, (2) kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa ditinjau dari gaya kognitif FD dan FI, dan (3) karakter mandiri siswa ditinjau dari gaya kognitif FD dan FI. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII-E SMP Negeri 13 Semarang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes, wawancara, dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah yaitu tahap reduksi data, tahap penyajian, dan tahap kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kualitas pembelajaran model 4K dalam kategori baik, (2) subjek dengan gaya kognitif FD memenuhi satu indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah yaitu, membangun pengetahuan matematika baru melalui pemecahan masalah, (3) subjek dengan gaya kognitif FI memenuhi seluruh indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah, (4) subjek dengan gaya kognitif FD memiliki karakter mandiri yang kurang baik, (5) subjek dengan gaya kognitif FI memiliki karakter mandiri yang baik. This research aims were determine, (1) the quality of mathematics learning with the 4K model towards problem­solving ability and self regulated learning, (2) problem­solving ability of students in terms of cognitive style FD and FI, and (3) the character of independent students in terms of cognitive style FD and FI. The research subjects are students of VII­E SMP Negeri 13 Semarang. Data collection techniques are test, interview, and observation. Data analysis was performed with steps are data reduction stage, presentation stage, and conclusion stage. The results showed that (1) the learning quality of 4K model in good category, (2) subjects with cognitive style FD only meet one indicator of problem­solving abilities, it is to build knowledge of the new mathematics through problem­solving, (3) subjects with cognitive styles FI meet all indicators of problem­solving abilities,(4) subjects with cognitive style FD have not quite good independent character, (5) subjects with cognitive styles FI have a good independent character.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to described connection mathematical ability and mathematical disposition of seventh grade students of Junior High School reviewed by Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS) were Artisans, Idealist, Guardian, and Rational personality in Eliciting Activities Mathematics Learning Model. And was to described the quality of Eliciting Activities Mathematics Learning Model in connection mathematical abilities and the disposition. The subject of research are the two students in each category of personality types. So the subject of this study are 8 student of class VII B SMP Negeri 1 Selogiri 2015/2016. The results Showed a description of (1) the quality of Eliciting Activities Mathematics Learning Model was fine qualified learning model (2) the mathematical connection abilities of (a) Artisan student in succed 1 - 2 indicators means the category is medium, as a level as their mathematical disposition level (b) Guardian students in the category of low, succed only 1 indicator and the rate of disposition was medium (c) Idealist students succed 3-4 indicators and very high levels to the mathematical dispositions (d) Rational students suceed all indicators and entry high level of the mathematical disposition.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) gain the description of PBL mathematicis lesrning model quality towards students; (2) creative thinking ability in solving some open ended problems before the PBL model aplied to them; and (3) getting the description of creative thinking process in solving the open ended problems based on Wallas model in PBL of learning for each Creative Thinking Skill Test CTST. This research is using mixed methods. The result of Mathematical Creative Thinking Skill Test (MCTST) is analyzed quantitatively using classical completeness test and also average difference test. Furthermore, the result of MCTST is analyzed qualitatively to gain the result of students’ Creative Thinking Skill Test (CTST) before PBL learning mode to be applied to them. To obtain research data used questionnaire methods, documentation, testing, observations, and interviews. The results showed that: (1) the quality of learning in both categories, (2) Before the model was applied to the class G, 7th grade students of SMP N 30 Semarang the total score of CTST were: 2 students for CTST4, 16 students for CTST3, 15 students for CTST1, and 3 students for CTST0; and (3) the analysis of the interviews and observations show that each CTST has different characteristics of creative thinking process on preparation phase, incubation, illumination, ang verification.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the learning quality of CPS model towards mathematical creative thinking ability of students viewed from personality types. This research was a mixed method is the type of this research. Mathematical Creative Thinking Skill Test (MCTST) was analyzed quantitatively by classical completeness test and different test average. Furthermore, MCTST was also analyzed qualitatively to gain the description of mathematical creative thinking ability viewed from personality types. The results showed that the quality of CPS mathematics learning model in good category. The artisans subject did not complete mathematical creative thinking aspects, especially fluency and flexibility aspects, guardians subject met all four aspects of mathematical creative thinking, the idealist subject did not meet mathematical creative thinking aspects, especially originality and elaboration aspects, and the rational subject met all four aspects of mathematical creative thinking.
