Abstract

Abstract Tauh is one of  traditional art in the form of musical essembly because it has three main elements: musical instruments, singers,and dancers. Tauh is originated from Lempur Tengah, Kerinci District which is usually perfomed in harvesting party. This study was aimed at finding and describing the function and use of Tauh in harvesting party of Lempur Tengah people. The method of this study was qualitative one. The data were collected through: 1) library study, 2) observation, 3) interview, 4)documentation. The data analysis wa classified based on the focus of the study after being separated and arranged systematically. The result showed that Tauh was previously used by the king as part of harvesting rituals, and to welcome the king’s guests. This traditional art was still practiced by Lempur Tengah people until now in their harvesting party. It was used as the sign of success of the party. Along with it develoment, Tauh was also used in welcoming important guests, participatingin festival, or as the represetativeof traditional art from Kerinci in any events in province level. Therefore, Tauh has several functions for Lempur Tengah people: (1) emotional reaction function, (2) entertainment function, (3) communication function, (4) physical reaction function, (5) social integrity function, (6) social institution legalization function. Abstract

This study aims to describe implementation of group vocal learning in cultural arts subject at Class VII-4 in SMP Negeri 3 Padang.. Type of this research was a descriptive study with using qualitative method. The research instrument was the researcher. It was assisted by using supporting instruments such as stationery, camera, and voice recorder. Techniques of data collection were carried out by taking observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The steps in analyzing data were done by collecting, identifying, classifying, clarifying, describing and summarizing data. The results show that group vocal learning carry out by the teacher at class VII-4 in SMP Negeri 3 Padang is not going well and does not catch the target of learning objectives. It can be seen from the planning, implementation, and evaluation that is less relevant between the lesson plans and those implemented by the teacher. The teacher does not understand the concepts and techniques of group vocal singing well so that the students do not understand singing in the form of group vocals. At the time of learning, the teacher should provide musical training to students, so that students' understanding of singing group vocal can be carried out properly, and not just memorizing the song. Therefore, there are still some students who have not been able to practice it properly, due to lack of guided practice, lack of understanding of the material and practice of singing vocal groups correctly which impact on the student grades. In the results of the evaluation of learning to sing in vocal groups of the students at class VII-4, the highest score only reach 87 and the lowest score is 75.

Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at revealing the students’ interest toward music throught observing their extracurricular activities in music at SMP Negeri 8 Padang. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research indicated that before the part-time teacher paid, the student had no interest in music, instead they joined some musical activities out of the school. However, after the part-time teacher worked with them and the program was organized, the students started to show their passion on music. Shortly, the students’ interest was likely to rise as the goal and the target of an activity were defined clearly.   Keyword : Interest, music, extracurricular activities, descriptive, qualitative.

Abstract

This research is to explain about Pedagogic Competence of Art and Culture Teacher in SMAN 3 Kota Pariaman. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive analytical approach. The location ofthis research is in SMAN 3 Kota Pariaman, in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018. Technique of collecting research data is using instrument of interview and observation. Based on result of the research that has been done can be concluded that the pedagogic competence of art and culture teacher in SMAN 3 Pariaman City is classified as "Good", It means that Art Culture Teacher in SMAN 3 Pariaman City has been able to do strategy or good learning method in accordance with the component of pedagogic competence in understanding the characteristics Learners, master theories of learning, develop curriculum/syllabus, organize educational learning, develop the potential of learners, and can evaluate the learners' learning outcomes. Keywords: descriptive study, pedagogic competence, art and culture teacher.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the song nocturne in e-flat major op 9 no 2 by Fredrich Chopin is technically expressed through the classical guitar playing by Francisco Tarrega. This research is descriptive analysis, which in this case describes, outlines and describes the technique of playing nocturne in e-flat major op 9 no 2 which is played for classical guitar instruments. The object of this research is the classical guitar playing technique in nocturne in e-flat major op 9 no 2 by Frederich Chopin. The research instrument is the researcher himself is assisted by several equipment to process the data. The type of data used is primary data and secondary data. The steps to analyze the data were done by using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data are organized and interpreted as finding material to answer research problems. The results showed that the techniques used in the classical guitar song nocturne in e-flat major op 9 no 2, namely arpeggio, legato, slur, glissando, barre, harmonic, appoggiatura, and trill. Tarrega replaced techniques that can also be played on guitar such as upper mordent, group peto, and staccato with slur techniques, and glissando, then condensed the rhythmic tone with a 1/32 note. The substitution of this technique is due to organological reasons, where the piano has a soft pedal and a damper pedal that can maintain the tone, while this is not possible on a guitar. The difference in the use of playing techniques or more precisely the adjustment of the playing technique of this work using classical guitar gives different nuances to its expression, namely sharp, deep, sad, mellow, firm, fast, free, bright, broad nuances on the piano. While the guitar creates a soft, gentle, broad, crowded, fast feel.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to explain and reveal how to raise students' motivation in learning notation in MTsN Tarusan. During this time the teacher is plagued with low student motivation, thereby disrupting the smooth teaching and learning. The research was conducted by qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data obtained by interviews, direct observation, library research, and documentation. The research instrument is the researcher himself as a key instrument. Data were analyzed with phenomenological techniques. Results of previous studies suggest that students lack motivation in learning notation, it is caused by lack of proper teaching methods by teachers in the art of music MTsN. After the change in the method by teachers in teaching the art of music notation, reveal positive results in improving student learning motovasi notation. Means cooperative method is able to change the level of student motivation towards learning in MTsN Tarusan notation. Through cooperative pembelajran methods students have the motivation to read notation, because the element of cooperation pembnelajaran important role in practice, so that students are able to help a fellow co weaknesses of the students themselves. Abstract

Abstract This article aims to describe the implementation of guided training on unisono choir extracurricular activities at SMK Negeri 3 Padang. This research was a qualitative research with descriptive analysis approach. The unisono choir extracurricular activities program with guided training are as follows: the teacher's first meeting explained the material about the choir and some choir concepts. In the second meeting, the teachers taught basic choir techniques exercises. At the third meeting, the teachers taught reading Indonesia Raya numeric notation by applying the techniques which were already learned previously. In the fourth meeting, teachers taught reading the lyrics of Indonesia Raya song. Then the fifth meeting was a combined performance. From the result of the research, it is found that the extracurricular activities of the choir at SMK Negeri 3 Padang with the implementation of guided training included sound production was more stable; when voicing intonation, either rhythmically or melody is appropriate. Students sang the phrase or sentence of the song (lyrics) has been good. The lyrical messages of the song were delivered or sung in clear, and the expression is much better. The technique used has begun perfectly because, in every meeting, the students were always practising the material that has been taught in the last week so that the ability of the sound more harmonious. Assessment techniques are performed.  Indicator assessed or which need to be improved is in terms of sound, harmonization and technique in singing. Keywords: Guided Exercise, Choir

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of violin courses at Yamaha Music School Padang. The data were obtained during the learning process. Interviews were conducted to violin instructors at Yamaha Music School Padang. In addition, photos during the violin learning process at Yamaha Music School Padang were documented. Based on the research results, the implementation of music courses at Yamaha Music School Padang, especially the violin course, "seems not guided" by the concepts and principles of the Yamaha method. In fact, the materials contained in the Yamaha Music Examination Syllabus as an evaluation of learning outcomes based on YMES clearly describes the achievement of students’ learning outcomes based on YMES. The materials contained in the Yamaha Music Examination Syllabus also evaluate the “readiness” of students towards creative abilities. Likewise, the principle of Emphasis on creativity is increasingly not being noticed in music courses at Yamaha Music School Padang if it is viewed from the 'minimal' 'activity' carried out by Yamaha Music School Padang.

Abstract

This study aims to discover and describe about how to increase student motivation through the use of audiovisual media in particular subjects Culture Art Art Traditional Music archipelago. This research is descriptive qualitative approach. Collecting data in the field is done by literature study, observations, and interviews to students free of SMP Negeri 4 Padang. Data were collected from two sources, namely data from the literature and from the field, the real situation of learning the art of traditional music in class Nusantara VIII SMP Negeri 4 Padang. The results stated that before the Cultural Arts subject teachers using audiovisual media as a tool in the learning process, the students did not show any motivation in learning art. This is evident from the relatively low participation during the learning process. Many students are not concentrating and not 'care' in the subject described by their teachers, and even many of those who make "noise" during school hours. After the Cultural Arts subject teachers use audio-visual media as a tool for learning, student motivation in SMP Negeri 4 Padang on particular subjects Culture Art Art Traditional Music archipelago begins to increase is evident and visible from the questionnaires and interviews. Abstract

This article aims to determine whether by giving high touch aspects in the learning process can improve student learning outcomes. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), which aims to improve the learning process to improve student learning outcomes in class VIII 9 SMP Negeri 13 Padang. The object of research in this research is the students of class VIII 9 SMP Negeri 13 Padang. Sources of data in this study is the process and the results of the action is done that is giving high touch aspects on the learning process on the students of class VIII 9 in SMP Negeri 13 Padang. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, literature study and documentation. The results showed that the giving of aspects in the process of learning art and culture (music) in class VIII 9 SMP Negeri 13 Padang gave positive results to the students. Student learning outcomes increase as well as students appreciate teachers in the learning process.
