Abstract

Red onion is one of the vegetables that have important meaning for the people of the economic value and nutritional content. Onions contain calories, carbohydrates, fat, protein, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Red onion also contains the compound allicin and essential oils are bactericidal and fungicidal against bacteria and fungi. Demand for onion is good for consumption or seedlings in the country has increased. Every year almost always an increase in the production of red onion, but it has not been able to offset the increase in demand onion nationally along with the increasing population and the development of the processing industry. Keywords: red onion; betel leaf; extract. Abstrak                             Bawang merah merupakan salah satu komoditas sayuran  yang  mempunyai arti  penting  bagi  masyarakat  baik  dari  nilai  ekonomisnya  maupun   kandungan gizinya. Bawang merah mengandung kalori, karbohidrat, lemak, protein, serat makanan, vitamin, dan mineral. Bawang  merah mengandung  senyawa  allicin  dan  minyak  atsiri  yang   bersifat  bakterisida dan fungisida terhadap bakteri dan jamur. Permintaan  akan  bawang  merah  baik  untuk  konsumsi  ataupun bibit dalam negeri mengalami peningkatan. Setiap tahun hampir  selalu  terjadi  peningkatan produksi bawang merah, akan tetapi hal tersebut belum mampu mengimbangi peningkatan permintaan bawang merah secara nasional seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk dan berkembangnya industri olahan. Kata kunci: bawang merah; daun sirih; ekstrak.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPlant sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas. L) is one of the crops that have a high nutrient, sweet potato ranks ninth among food crop in the world. This study aims to determine the percentage of the pest in some centers C.formicarius sweet potato plant, in the district of South Minahasa, Minahasa regency, and Tomohon. The benefits of this research are expected to provide information on the percentage of C.formicarius pests, so it can be used as an input in the preparation of control programs in the future. results showed that the percentage of pests C. formicarius highest in South Minahasa Regency Village District Sinisir Modoinding 36.09% at follow Tomohon Tomohon western sub Desa Woloan 10.06% and Minahasa Regency Village District Sumarayar North Langowan 8.78%. high percentage pests C. formicarius in South Minahasa Regency Village Sinisir Modoinding district because of the availability of food but to attack yams C. formicarius also attack potato plants so that pest populations C. formicarius Sinisir village increased.Keywords: Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), Attack Cylas formicarius F. Abstract

ABSTRACKRice is an annual plant, belonging to the grasses of the Oryza genus, family of Graminae (Poaceae), with Oryza sativa L. being one of the species. Rice is the main commodity for the Indonesian people. In Indonesia, rice is an important food crop because more than half the population are dependent on rice produced by rice plants. This study aims to determine the potential of some types of plants that serve as attractants for the channeled applesnail. This research was conducted in farmers' fields in the village of Tonsewer from March to October 2013. This study uses a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications in the research sites. Materials and tools used in this study are the leaves of banana plants, papaya, taro, and tagalolo, buckets, rough scales, plastic rope, knife, tape measure, camera and stationery. The results showed the highest population on taro leaves (106.73 individuals), followed by papaya leaves (59.53 individuals), tagalolo leaves (41.47 individuals), and the lowest population in banana leaves (38.73 individuals).Keywords: Rice, Channeled Applesnail (Pomacea canaliculata), Attractant plants

Abstract

ABSTRACTFeybra S. Sigarlaki. Pest Insects Associated on Plants Papaya (Carica Papaya L.) in the Village Talawaan, District Talawaan, Regency Minahasa Utara. Under Guidence Prof. Dr. Ir. Jantje Pelealu, MS as chairman, Ir. James B. Kaligis, M.Si and Ir. Emmy Senewe, M.Si as member.The study aimed to determine the association of insect pests on crop Papaya in Village Talawaan, District Talawaan, regency Minahasa Utara. Research conducted surveys using methods purporsive sampling. At planting area observed insects found in papaya plants. Sampling was done by catching insects directly and observe the plants in the form of stems, leaves, and fruit are infested by insects. Insect samples were obtained from the direct retrieval, collected and grouped then taken to the laboratory for identification and documentation. Insect samples were taken on three varieties of papaya, the varieties of Bangkok, Thailand and California. Each set of 20 varieties of trees as a place of observation. The total number of papaya plants sampled 60 trees. Sampling was carried out four times at intervals of two weeks. Things that are observed insects collected on various varieties of papaya.The results of the study found four types of insects that are associated to the papaya plant in the Village Talawaan, District Talawaan. Types of insect pests, namely Aleurodicus sp. (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) and Paracoccus sp. (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) and their natural enemies, the Coccinellidae (Coleoptera) and Forficulidae (Dermaptera).Keywords : Carica papaya, Minahasa Utara

Abstract

ABSTRACKCoconut plant (Cocos nucifera L) is a multifunction plant or a plant that has a high value of economy. In every part of the coconut plant can be use for every people needs because almost in every part of plant such as: the trunk, root, leafs and the fruits can be use for the everyday needs. Pest is one of the inhibitor factor in the production of coconut. The purpose of this research is to know the use some kind of traps with pheromone to the coconut beetle O. rhinoceros. This research is held in four different villages Kima Atas, Mapanget, Kayuwatu and Paniki, since last June until September 2013. This research use four different kinds of traps: trap A, trap B, trap C and trap D and in every inside trap there is a pheromone with the same dosage placed in four location were in every location there are four kinds of traps. The materials and the tools the we use in this research is sintetic pheromone for O. rhinoceros (ethyl-4-mathyloctanoata), four kinds of trap from Balit Palma, knife. machete, container, marker, label, camera and stationery. The result of this research shows that the largest amount of O. rhinoceros is found in trap B (126.0 insects),then trap C (30.0 insect), trap A (24.0 insects), and the lowest is found in trap D (15.0 insect), and base on the gender, female (111 insects) male (84 insect).Keywords: Coconut, O. rhinoceros, Pheromone, Trap

Abstract

ABSTRACT In Indonesia, corn is the second important food crops after rice. Corn is also used as food, are also used as animal feed. Pests that attack sweet corn crop is pest O. furnacalis.  This study aims to determine the percentage of the population and O. furnacalis pests on crops of sweet corn in North Tomohon Tomohon sub district were housed in three villages, namely Village Wailan, Kakaskasen and Kakaskasen III.  The timing of the study for four months starting from the month of November 2014 to February 2015.  This study uses survey research and data collection population and the percentage of larvae attack O. furnacalis. Each village determined the sweet corn crop plots measuring approximately 0,5 ha then divided by five sub plots scattered observations diagonally and taken as many as 40 plants. Larval population data retrieval is done on old plants 54 days after planting (dat), 61 dat, dat 68 and dat 75 with an interval of seven days.  The results showed an average population of O. furnacalis found in sweet corn planting in the village Wailan is 9,35 individuals, followed by Village Kakaskasen 9,00 individuals and in the Village Kakaskasen III 6,85 individuals , The observation of the plants aged 54 to 75 dat O. furnacalis pest larvae attack sweet corn plants in North Tomohon sub district, but still relatively small percentage of attacks. The average percentage of attacks O. furnacalis highest in Sub Kakaskasen ie 11,12%, followed by Sub Wailan 8,50 % and 7,62% in Kakaskasen III. Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aims to determine the population and attacks Cnaphalocrocis medinalis on paddy rice vegetative phase in District East Dumoga, Bolaang Mongondow. Results are expected to be used as consideration in the preparation of pest control strategies C. medinalis on rice crops in the future. Research using survey method in several centers of rice cultivation in the district of East Dumoga Bolaang Mongondow, then set the 3 villages as research locations or as a sampling. Location criteria based on the presence of the rice research under the age of one week. Sampling using Method Diagonal slices and set up five sub-plot. Observations population conducted by randomly selecting ten clump of rice plants in each sub-plot. C. medinalis larvae contained in the leaf roll is taken, and then collected in a bottle containing 70% alcohol. Samples are labeled according to location and time of uptake, later identified in the Laboratory of Entomology and Pest Plants, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sam Ratulangi. Observations percentage of attacks carried out by observing each of the 200 plants per sub-plot. Clumps were attacked recorded and calculated to determine the percentage of C. medinalis attack. Sampling was performed four times at intervals of two weeks. The results showed that the population of pests C. medinalis varies at different locations and the highest research found in two locations in the village Dumoga which reached an average of 15.33 tail, then in the village Dumoga Three reached an average of 13.66 tail and in the village of Dumoga Four reached an average of 5.33 birds. Observations highest percentage of attacks was found in the village of Dumoga Two sample sites, reaching 10.54%, then the village of Three Dumoga 9.95% and the lowest is Village Dumoga Four reached 1.53%.  Keywords : Cnaphalocrosis medinalis, percentage of attacks and populations

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The study aims to determine the percentage of the branch borer attack on mango crops in the village of Manembo-nembo, Bitung.  The study lasted for six months, from July 2014 to December 2014. The study was conducted by surveys with purporsive sampling.  On plant mango, symptoms were observed branches showing on that were attacked and not attacked.  Mango crop was considered infected if found bored sign on branches. Observations were made on three types of mangoes namely Mango Manalagi, Arumanis, and Lilin, in which observations were conducted four times. The results showed that the mango crops Manembo-nembo were attacked by borer branches, Rhytidodera sp. The highest percentage during the four observations found on Arumanis Mango attack plants by 21.44% in the first observation, Manalagi of 16.20% at the first observations and the lowest of 9.28% on Lilin Mango in the fourth observation.  Keywords : Manggo Arumanis, Manalagi,  Lilin  Rhytidodera sp.

Abstract

ABSTRACKThis research aims at indentifying the ratio of the population and the percentage of Larva.attack on leeks and shallot plant. This research was taken in Ampreng Village, Langowansubdistrict, Minahasa Regency. This research had been taking for two month, i.e. that isMarch to April 2016 . The research was taken by using the survey method on leeks andshallot plants in Ampreng village, Langowan subdistrict. The researcher had used thediagonally slicing method i.e determining 5 sub plots on the location of taking the sample.Taking the sample had been done by using the interval of time along one week for three timesof observation. The finding of the research showed the average of the highest population ofLarva S. exigua went to Shallots i.e 1.44 tails, meanwhile the population of Larva on leeksonly got 0,67 tail. The highest average of Larva S. exigua attack went to Shallots plants, i.e.28,07 %, meanwhile leek plant only 14,81 %. The result of the independent analysis test“sample T-test” showed there are found the real differences of the population and thepercentage of Larva S. exigua attack on leeks and shallot plants.Kata kunci : Population, Percentage, Leek, Shallot, S. exigua

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aims to determine the percentage of larvae attack  Leucinodes orbonalis Gueene on eggplant. This research was conducted in the Village Wailan and Kakaskasen Two North Tomohon sub district Tomohon. The study lasted five months, namely from March to August 2016.  The research was conducted by survey on eggplant in North Tomohon Tomohon sub district, which is in the Village Wailan and Kakaskasen Dua each village taken one farmer's land. Sampling was done by the method diagonal slices are set out five sub-plot at the sampling site. Sampling was done by intervals of one week four times observation. Fruits are attacked calculated percentage amount.  The results showed the average percentage of the highest attack in the village of Kakaskasen Dua is 28.17% while in the Village Wailan average percentage of attacks is only 6.85%.The test results of the analysis showed significant differences Significant 0,000 <0.05 then the corresponding basis for decision making in Test Independent Sample T-test, t can be concluded H0 and H1 accepted which means that there are differences in the percentage of fruit borer attacks at both locations.
