Abstract

ABSTRACT In measuring performance based on leadership, development and job satisfaction in Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, West Java. experienced several obstacles. Based on this background the author takes the title: The Effect of Leadership, Human Resource Development and Job Satisfaction on Employee Performance of Cileunyi District Offices, Bandung Regency, West Java. “ The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leadership, human resource development and job satisfaction on performance in Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, West Java. both partially and simultaneously. Partially Leadership Variables (X1) have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This is indicated by the regression coefficient of 0.233. Whereas for tcount (3,953)> t table (1,697) and sign. (0,001) <sign α (0,05). Increasing leadership, the performance of employees in the Cileunyi District Office, Bandung Regency, West Java. increasing too. Variable Human Resource Development (X2) partially has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (Y). This is indicated by the regression coefficient value of 0.295. Whereas for tcount (2,647)> t table (1,697) and sign (0,014) <sign α (0,05. Increasingly Human Resources Development then the performance of Employees in Cileunyi Subdistrict Office, Bandung Regency, West Java. Job satisfaction variables, (X3) partially have a positive and significant effect on employee performance.This is indicated by the regression coefficient of 0.528, while for the value of t count (4.802)> t table (1.697) and sign. (0.000) <sign α (0.05) The increasing specialization of the type of work, the performance of employees in the Cileunyi Subdistrict Office, Bandung Regency, West Java has also increased, in the feasibility test of the model that this study can be continued in analyzing the influence of Leadership (X1), Human Resource Development (X2) and Employee Satisfaction (X3), towards performance (Y). This is indicated by the Fcount value (284,486)> Ftable (2,98 and sign. (0,000) <sign α (0,05). Abstract

Sektor pariwisata merupakan motor penggerak bagi perekonomian Provinsi Bali.  Hal ini telah dibuktikan dari kontribusi sektor pariwisata terhadap Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) yang terns meningkat, dari sekitar 20% pada tahun 1970an menjadi lebih dari 60% pada tahun 2007. Hal ini membuka peluang bagi sektor lainnya di Bali termasuk sektor pertanian untuk berkembang, tidak hanya untuk  memenuhi  kebutuhan  lokal  tetapi  juga  kebutuhan  pariwisata.  Tulisan  ini  bertujuan  untuk mengidentifikasi peluang dan tantangan sektor pertanian, khususnya daging sapi Bali sebagai produk lokal untuk memenuhi permintaan wisatawan. Penulisan studi ini dilaksanakan melalui Studi Pustaka dengan berpedoman kepada sumber-sumber yang relevan seperti hasil penelitian dan tulisan-tulisan sebelumnya.Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa produk lokal seperti daging sapi Bali memiliki peluang untuk bisa masuk ke pasar yang lebih modern seperti pada hotel berbintang, restoran dan instutusi yang berkaitan dengan pariwisata. Hal ini dapat menghemat devisa negara dan meningkatkan pangsa pasar daging sapi Bali di pasar modern serta sekaligus dapat menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan di Bali. Namun pada sisi lain, daging sapi lokal belum memliki standar grading dalam sistem pemasarannya, sehingga hal ini menjadi suatu tantangan bagi pemerintah untuk bisa menetapkan standar tersebut. Abstract

Rice farming is susceptible to failure due to several risks including natural disasters of flood and drought as well as pest and disease attacks. Risk mitigation such as agricultural insurance is required to cope with the risks. This study aims to portray rice production risks to failure and farmer’s perception on the implementation of agricultural insurance in Bali province. Three regencies were selected purposively based on the area insured. A survey was conducted to 180 respondents who paid for the agricultural insurance (AUTP). Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis and chi-square test. Results of the research show that most rice farming risks to failure in Bali were blast and rat attacks. In terms of agricultural insurance implementation, all farmers accept the program as a mitigation risk to bridge rice farming failure. However, most farmers (85 %) asked for fully support of premium subsidy from the government while the rest agreed to pay for a-20 % of the premium. The result from the Chi-square test shows insignificant, implying that the distribution of farmers’ perception towards full subsidy of agricultural insurance is indifferent across locations. Implication of the study noted that the government and insurer need to socialize the agricultural insurance program more intensively covering premium payment, coverage and claiming.Keywords: production risk, agricultural insurance, farmer’s perception, AUTP, Chi-square

Abstract

Bank performance can be measured with return on asset. Return on assets can be used to measure the effectiveness of a company in achieving profit by utilizing the assets owned. This study aims to determine the effect of capital adequacy ratio, non-performing loan, loan to deposit ratio to return on assets. This study was conducted at a banking company listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) period 2014 - 2016. Samples determined by using purposive sampling technique and the number of selected samples is 34 banks. Data collection was done by non participant observation method. Data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The result of this research analysis shows that capital adequacy ratio have positive and significant effect to return on asset. Non performing loan has a negative and significant effect on return on asset. Loan to deposit ratio has a positive and significant effect on return on asset. Abstract

Farmer’s Willingness to Pay to the Implementation of Rice Farming Insurance(Case Study of Subak Cepik Tajen Village, District of Penebel Tabanan Regency) Asuransi Usaha Tani Padi (AUTP) is one of program by Indonesia Government toprotect the farmers if there is a risk happen and causes the farmer loss their resultsduring paddy farming. Subak Cepik is one of subak join AUTP since 2015 and havingthe most claims in Bali Province. The purpose of this research is to find out aboutwillingness to pay by the farmers or we can understanding it as farmer’s ability to paypremiums AUTP and to know the constraints that occurs in the implementation ofAUTP for the Subak Cepik farmers and PT Jasindo. This research is using descriptivequantitative and descriptive qualitative method and used 40 sample of farmers. Thedata analyzed using Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). The result of this researchshows that farmer’s willingness to pay is Rp 30,853/ha/planting season. The amount issmaller than the current premium of Rp 36,000/ha/planting season.. Besides, thisresearch also shows obstacles in the implementation of AUTP for farmers that is fromthe process of socialization AUTP, premium payment process and claims fund that isstill lack for farming needs and constraints from the PT Jasindo including the processof socialization and registration process of AUTP participants. Subak Cepik farmersstill want government subsidies and want to improve the service of AUTP. Result fromthis research suggest there is a need to synergize PT Jasindo and the farmers need forsynergy. Then, the government also expected to set the AUTP premium in accordancewith the capability of farmers.

Abstract

Marketing Efficiency Analysis of Best Seller Spa Products at PT Bali Tangi This research is aimed to find out the marketing channels, to calculate marketingmargin, producer’s share, and to analyze marketing efficiency of best seller spaproducts at PT Bali Tangi. This company produces three types of spa productsnamely scrub, masker and massage oil that are in high demand. Samples wereselected purposively for retailers from PT Bali and snowball sampling for retailersfrom the wholesaler. Total samples were 30 from Denpasar City and BadungRegency including wholesaler, retailers, hotels and villas. The results showed thatthere are three types of marketing channels of best seller spa products of PT BaliTangi. Channel I: producer – end consumers (for three spa products), channel II:producer – retailers and institutional consumers – end consumers (for three spaproducts), and channel III: producer - wholesaler - institutional consumers – endconsumers (for only two spa products). The channel II comprises 52.95% of the totalsales, whereas 8.97% and 38.07% respectively for channel I and III. The highestmarketing margin was seen from the channel III at amount of Rp 80,000/unit, whileno marketing margin coming from the channel I as it is direct marketing. Thechannel II has marketing margin Rp 25,000. The highest producer’s share is onchannel I by 100% and the lowest is on channel III by 57.89%. The channel II hasproducer’share of 86.49%. In terms of marketing efficiency, this research does notcompare to channel I because channel I does not have a marketing agency. ChannelII of the marketing channel is the most efficient based on three analysis of marketingmargins, producer’s share, and price efficiency. Channel III is only efficient atoperational efficiency of 2,944.57%. Meanwhile, channel III is inefficient. Despite ofinefficiency, channel III is the main supporting channel for the company to maintaindue to high volume of trading compared to channel I.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Logistic Management of Eggs From Biosecure Farm Agribusiness of laying hens is a strategic effort to meet the public demand for eggs. Biosecure farms which implement the program of Clean and Healthy Market Chain (CMC) developed in the ACIAR project, which resulted in good quality chicken eggs, healthy and good for consumption. The farms which obtain a certificate of Indonesian Poultry Biosecurity Center (PBUI) will have the logo of biosecure. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the logistics management of chicken eggs from the biosecure farms to the consumers (2) the perceptions of stakeholders on the price and quality of eggs from biosecure farms. The method used was descriptive and qualitative analysis to determine the planning, budgeting, procurement, storage, control and distribution. The results showed that (1) logistics management on biosecure farms of chicken eggs commodity can be performed well. It can be seen from the results of weekly livestock production which provides a supply of eggs for PT Mitra Sinar Jaya of 42% and UD Limas Merta Mandiri of 58%. Both agencies will distribute back to the institutional consumer markets (supermarkets and hotels) and a small portion to the traditional markets, (2) the perception of stakeholders on the commodity of chicken eggs from biosecure farms can be categorized as very good with a score of 85.33%. Suggestions which can be given are (1) the logistics management of biosecure farms can expand the distribution channels of healthy chicken eggs for the benefit of consumers, (2) stakeholders of PT MSJ are expected to put biosecure labeling on the packaging, with the aim of attracting consumers in terms of quality. As for UD LMM, it is expected to develop the business of chicken eggs produced by biosecure farms to expand its distribution network. Abstract

Effectiveness Of Utilization Of The Rice Crop Insurance (AUTP) Claims Fund atSubak Sengempel, Bongkasa Village, Abiansemal District Badung Regency AUTP was launched by the government as an effort to protect farmers from crop failureby providing claims that can be used as capital for the next season. This research aimsto determine the response of farmers and the effectiveness of AUTP claims fundutilization. The research was done purposively in Subak Sengempel, Bongkasa Village,Abiansemal Sub-district of Badung Regency. Samples were 62 farmers who receivedclaims fund. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation.Data analysis is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results shows that farmersrespond positively to the AUTP program in terms of knowledge and attitude. Theaverage knowledge of farmers reached 80% of the total expected knowledge aboutAUTP and the farmer's attitude were agreed with the average score is 4.10. Furthermore,by type of fund usage is effective category which is 90.32% of farmers use as a capitalfor rice cultivation for the next planting season. The utilization of AUTP claims fundsviewed from the claims capability is effective to cover 110.31% cost of farmingproduction per 0.25 ha up to planting and maintenance stages. In this research can besuggested the AUTP program needs to be continued and coordination between theparties involved should be maintained.

Abstract

The Marketing Mix of Soybean Milk Podwer of Emyta Brand at UD Emyta Denpasar-Bali One of the soybean processed products in the form of drinks that is most easily digested by the body is soy milk.UD Emyta is one of the companies that produces powdered soy milk in the city of Denpasar. This study aims to determine the marketing mix of soybean milk powder carried out by UD Emyta in terms of product concept, price, place/distribution and promotion and to find out the obstacles faced by the company in marketing Emyta’s soybean milk powder products. Based on the results of the research, soybean powder milk products are processed from the best imported raw soybeans. Marketing mix carried out by UD Emyta for products is that companies provide three types of packaging for different weight in marketing their products to make them look more attractive to consumers. For the type of packaging 150 grams and 250 grams, it is packed with aluminum foil packaged in a box and for a 500 gram type of packaging using plastic packaging. Pricing used by UD Emyta is a cost plus pricing method, which is to set prices based on costs added with percentage of costs. The price for small packages containing 150 grams was Rp 16,000, 250 grams was Rp 22,000 and 500 grams was Rp 34,000 respectively. The company uses retailers as intermediaries in the distribution of products so thattheproduct reaches the final consumer.Promotional activities used by companies are by using social media and giving discounts to each of their customers. Internal constraints faced are company performance in terms of promotions that are less effective. External constraints are the difficulty of finding quality raw materials and the presence of competitors of similar products which result in companies having to compete quite tightly.

Abstract

Abstract National seedling has been running for 30 years, but the availability of qualified seed is not enough. This is an opportunity for soybean seed breeding at Subak Kusamba to supply soybean seed, especially for Klungkung regency. The research objective in this study is to determine income generated from soybean seed farming received by farmers and the constraints faced in farming. This study was conducted at Subak Kusamba, Dawan sub district, Klungkung. Samples were selected from all 25 farmers participated in the farming of soybean seed. Methodology in this study includes descriptive qualitative, farming analysis and Revenue/Cost (R/C) ratio. Results showed that the income received by farmers was Rp 2,191,885.84 for an average of 34,08 are of land for one growing season. The R/C ratio was 3.07, implying that soybean seed farming is beneficial. Constraints faced by farmers were decreased rainfall in 2014 which affected the activity and productivity of soybean. Due to the lack of water availability, it is suggested to develop water reservation, especially during dry season by developing water tanks or other irrigation systems technology. To reduce variable costs, it can be done through the use of organic fertilizer or compost, superior seeds and soybean harvesting machines. Keyword: seed breeding, soybean, farm analysis
