Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop instructional learning kits for class X of Senior High School with problem-based approach oriented to the creative thinking skills which was suitable for high school student. This study was a Research and Development (R&D) research that used development model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subject of this study was 31 class X student in Pangudi Luhur Senior High School Yogyakarta. The validity of developed learning tools was measured using a validation sheet. Meanwhile, the practicality of learning was measured using the teacher evaluation sheets, student assessment and observation sheet. The results of the validity assessment worksheet was valid with good category. The results of the practicality which was based on the assessment of teachers achievied excellent category and practice. Meanwhile based on the assessment of students, it had a percentage 87.21% with good minimum. The percentage of learning observation sheet had an average 96%, so it could be concluded pratical instructional kits. Percentage mastery of creative thinking skills test were 77.41% with minimum category good so that this learning device was said to be effective. Thus, the result of the study showed the instructional kits were appropriate to be used as one of mathematics learning instructions and fullfill the quality of validity, practicality, and effectiveness aspect.

Abstract

The existence of herbaceous was importance in order to the ability in soil and water conservation. A survey of soil infiltration rate at various land that dominated by herbaceous plants was conducted at Matang Wildlife Centre, Sarawak, East Malaysia. The highest infiltration rate (2.45 cm/minute) was observed at herb land which dominated by Mikania micrantha Kunth. The land that dominated by Fimbristylis glubolosa Vahl showed the lowest infiltration rate (0,06 cm/minute). According to growth types, the vegetation of herbaceous that categorized as boadleaf reached the highest infiltration rate (2.00 cm/minute), followed by fern (0.68 cm/minute) and grass (0.59 cm/minute). The infiltration rate of mixed dipterocarps forest which is situated near the study site was 2.56 cm/minute. Information about the infiltration rate of herbaceous plants is useful for soil and water conservation, biodiversity, and forest management and conservation. Keywords: Infiltration rate, herbaceous, cover crops, and Sarawak.

Abstract

Interaction among climate, soil, and plants are very important dan influenced on each other. This paper was to inform suitability of climate and soil factors for perennial plants. The perennial plants were classified into plantation and forestry plants. Requirement of climate and soil factors for perennial plants was documented descriptively. Generally, many perennial plants need range annual 500-3,000 mm/year of rainfall, 15-34oC of monthly temperature, 70-90% of monthly relative humidity, and pH of 4.0-8.5. Information on suitability among species of perennial plants, climate elements, and soil properties for perennial plants is needed to support the success of plantation and forest programs. The plantation and forest programs are planned in large scale and long term, therefore selection of the appropriate plant species is vital for determine the successful of planting program.Key words: Climate element, soil properties, perennial plant, plantation plant, forest plant.

Abstract

Ironwood or Ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri Teijsm. & Binn.) coppice are potential natural regeneration to preserve Ulin resouces. A survey of ironwood regeneration was conducted as long as Belian Trail in Kubah National Park, Sarawak, Malaysia. A total of 33 coppice-shoots were recorded on 22 Ulin stumps. There were 6 seedlings, 49 saplings, 23 poles, and one tree recorded surrounding the coppicing. They were found in Quadrant I (25), Quadrant II (27), Quadrant III (16), and Quadrant IV (9). Information about regeneration and coppicing pattern of Ulin are useful for forest management and conservation, due to availability of their high natural regeneration. Keywords: Distribution, regeneration, coppice, stump, ironwood.

Abstract

Abstract One of algebraic structure that involves a binary operation is a group that is defined  an un empty set (classical) with an associative binary operation, it has identity elements and each element has an inverse. In the structure of the group known as the term subgroup, normal subgroup, subgroup and factor group homomorphism and its properties. Classical algebraic structure is developed to algebraic structure fuzzy by the researchers as an example semi group fuzzy and fuzzy group after fuzzy sets is introduced by L. A. Zadeh at 1965. It is inspired of writing about semi group fuzzy and group of fuzzy, a research on the algebraic structure of the ring is held with reviewing ring fuzzy, ideal ring fuzzy, homomorphism ring fuzzy and quotient ring fuzzy with its properties. The results of this study are obtained fuzzy properties of the ring, ring ideal properties fuzzy, properties of fuzzy ring homomorphism and properties of fuzzy quotient ring by utilizing a subset of a subset level  and strong level  as well as image and pre-image homomorphism fuzzy ring.  Keywords: fuzzy ring, subset level, homomorphism fuzzy ring, fuzzy quotient ring

Abstract

This classroom action research discussed certai ways to solve studentsdifficulties in composing recount, and the researcher would like to developthe technique of learning composing recount through guided picture, andthe problem of this research is: How can the students’ ability in writing recounttext through guided picture of X DKV 2 Semester 1 at SMKN 1 Banyuwangi inthe 2017/2018 Academic Year be improved?. This classroom action researchapplied the strategy in order to improve the students’ ability in writingcomposition of recount text, and the strategy which is used in teachingwriting composition is the use of guided picture as the media.. The use of guided pictures as media in teaching writing composition ofrecount can improve the students’ ability of class X DKV 2 SMKN 1Banyuwangi. It can be seen in the result of cycle I and cycle II. Frompreliminary test, the students writing composition of recount score rangedfrom 55 to 68, there were 24 students. It gradually improved to 37.1%, it meansthat the score range in cycle 1 was from 55 to 68 there were 11 students. Incycle 2, there were 9 students in the score range from 55 to 68. It means thatthere was 5.7% achievement. It can be concluded that the test result frompre-action, cycle 1, to cycle 2 have had improved significantly based on thecriteria of success which has been stated in previous chapter that is 75%. On the other hand, it can be concluded that the students’ motivation andinterest in learning writing composition of recount are also improved
