Abstract

Padang City is a city of solid education will be a lot of services like Laundry. The entrepreneurs have social capital in maintaining the business that is run in Padang Barat Sub-district, Padang City. 1) The impact of social capital utilization. The type of research used qualitative research with descriptive method. Through the technique of selecting informants with purposive sampling. Data were collected by participant observation, interview, and documentation study methods. Analyzed by Miles and huberman Methods The business capital of laundry entrepreneurs in maintaining the laundry business by establishing: 1) activities such as laundry clothes. 2.The backlinks also have a very helpful role in making this enduring business known as symbiosis mutualism or mutual benefit.3.Trust or trust that addresses customer satisfaction in practical and efficient washing, especially padang city as the center of all activities.

Abstract

Ngukok tradition is smoking habit performed by young boys on Idul Fitri and Idul Adha in Kubang village. On that day, boys with a happy feeling buying and smoking a cigarette. Their parents also allow their children to smoke. While children should be avoided from smoking habits because the childhood is the period to grow and develop. This research was aimed to describe the values in ngukok tradition. This research used qualitative approach. Research was conducted in Kubang Village, Depati VII District , Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. Total informants were 31 people selected by using purposive sampling.The techniques of data collection were observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analysed by using Miles and Huberman analysis. The research findings revealed the values contained in Ngukok tradition.Social value , such as togetherness, solidarity, silaturrahmiand mutual sharing.Religious value, such as expressing gratitude to God and fasting. Cultural value which is related to cultural inheritance.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the effect of work discipline motivation on civil servants performance working at Kerinci Regency Regional Secretariat. because there is a problem the employee performance it is proven by preliminary data that researchers get there are still targets that have not been fully realized. This research used quantitative method. The population of this study was all civil servants serving in the Kerinci Regency Regional Secretariat. Respondents in this study were amounted to 95 samples. The data collection technique used in this study was proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data was collected through questionnaires that have been tested of their validity and reliability in advance, both the content and empirical test items in the field. Data analysis technique used in this research was multiple regressions. The results showed that there is a significant effect of work discipline and motivation on Kerinci Regency Regional Secretariat civil servants performance. This means that higher-level work discipline and motivation will improve civil servants performance.

Abstract

This research synthesizes the theory of applying Charles Edwards III, with 4 variables; communication, disposition, resources and organizational structure. This team principally assisted the Governor in overseeing and managing complaints relating to public services. This team has the main duty of handling public service complaints for the people in West Sumatra. Provincial government of West Sumatera has not been sufficient in implementing Presidential regulation No. 76 of 2013 on Public Service Complaint Management. In effective TP4 performance in accepting public complaints has an effect on the aims and objectives of the Presidential Regulation. TP4 West Sumatera Province more dominates the prevention performance, TP4 conducts guidance and monitoring both through working visit as well as Provincial Service Competency Assessment Team at Provincial level.

Abstract

Teachers have a very important role in the whole process of achieving the goals of national education. Teachers as educators are required to have maximum performance for the purpose of national education can be achieved. The purpose of this study is to look whether servant leadership and school organizational culture simultaneously influence the performance of public senior high school teacher in Padang City. The research method used is associative quantitative method, data analysis used in this research is regression analysis technique. The research method used is associative quantitative method, the population of this research is teachers of State Senior High School in Padang City, with the number of samples is 292 teachers. The results of this study are: servant leadership and school organizational culture simultaneously have a significant effect on teachers performance at Public Senior High School in Padang City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Rector's policy on student's etiquette and ethics in Student Activity Units or Student Organization (UKM/Ormawa) Padang State University (UNP) based on Circular Letter Number 3916/UN35/KM/2017. The background of this research because there are still some points in the circular that did not happen like the activities of students until the night, making the secretariat as a place to sleep, and the safety and cleanliness of PKM that has not been awake. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The informant of this research is Vice Rector III UNP as the maker of SE No.3916/UN35/KM/2017, Vice Dean III Faculty of Social Sciences, Kabag. Student Affairs and alumnus, Kasubbag. MPIK's Student Affairs, UKM Coach, Security Guard, BEM and MPM, some UKM/Ormawa managers UNP environment, students and communities living around UNP who can provide information. Techniques and data collection tools in this study using interview?techniques, observation and documentation studies. In the data collection used research instruments in the form of interview guides, observation format and documentation study format. In this study the data?analyzed obtained from interviews and interpreted qualitatively, in the form of abstraction, words and statements. The result of the research shows that the implementation of Rector's policy on students' etiquette and ethics in UKM/Ormawa UNP is good enough with the form of control that is done related to the etiquette and ethics in the student organization at UNP only still need improvement on the policy that has been implemented. Constraints encountered in the implementation of SE No.3916/UN35/KM/2017, among others, still low understanding and awareness of the contents of the policy, facilities and infrastructure are still inadequate, less assertive sanctions given to violators and still lack of supervision from the Rector and other related parties. From the results of this study the researchers provide advice to the parties involved, including to the Rector of UNP as policy makers maintain communication, coordination and good cooperation with each element, and for the implementation of the policy firmly need a rule of law is stronger than the circular, so also with the students and coaches UKM/Ormawa Coach to always direct and supervise the activities of students to be more directed and orderly. In addition, there must be full security and supervision from the security guard and the community around UNP, as well as students and UKM/Ormawa there must be understanding and awareness of existing regulations to be more sensitive to a policy so that the implementation of Rector policy can run optimally.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Social structure of society in Malaysia and Indonesia is a product of politic and colonial policy in the past. By relation among limited ethnic based on the form of plural society, both of these countries grow into new countries and the problems of ethnic become an important agenda in the process of countries development. As an indegene ethnic who has put on the edge, Malay race live side by side with some other ethnics like Chinese. Relationship among ethnics will develop easily become potential conflict without public administration in good government level.Using mixing methods among the surveys, focus group discussion, deep interview and ethnography observation in Alor Setar and Padang, this research is focused on searching the pattern on Neighborhood Association which is active and non active. It is also categorized based on the evaluation of government instance who has guided Neighborhood Association. Generally, the findings theory show that Neighborhood Association who is actively giving chances and choices to the citizen among ethnics and work out intensively. Minority of Chinese ethnic shows the level of good involvement, as Malay ethnic. They feel secure in their daily activities. Daily relationship and the institutions give the closeness among the citizen by doing some programs. Neighborhood Association do not emphasize the safety need and government agency in administrative sector just like in the beginning of its forming. It has reinforced the community although less economic efforts have done. This study was analyzed with the theory of social solidarity by Emile Durkheim. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach, with the type of research case study. The results found that there were two forms of social solidarity among the feminine male of the A+ Organizer community: 1) Mutual help such as: giving work, cooperation, and empowerment. 2) Collective activities in the form of together gathering such as: hanging out and regular social gathering. Factors that underlie the formation of social solidarity among feminine men in the A+ Organizer community: 1) The similarity of fate. 2) Interdependence.

Abstract

Ethnic relation, particularly between the Malay as indigenous people and the Chinese in some Southeast Asia countries, is one of the most important aspects in an effort to compose a nation. Focusing on discourse of the role of social organization in maintaining peace in society, a research has conducted in Alor Setar, Malaysia and Padang, Indonesia, two cities with different colonial administration in the past, British and Dutch. A qualitative-quantitative research was conducted to explore the potencies of the neighborhood association in creating peace through ethnic relations between Malay and Chinese. The scheme facilitates contacts and engages people of community by various activities. Those performances in core activities have been evaluated positively by the citizens. Nevertheless, some social aspects became problematic in connecting the people through civic engagement of the ethnic groups. The management of the Rukun Tetangga in the two countries is also different. However, as a neighborhood association, Rukun Tetangga has eminent role in maintaining supportive social relationship between ethnic groups in a community.
