Abstract

In improving English language skills, reading serves as a supportive activity. Reading is fundamental to improve students’ vocabulary in order to facilitate their speaking and writing skills. However, one of the barriers that students face in reading contents obtained from overseas references is the level of reading difficulty which is classified as quite high that it reduces reading motivation. This study aims to develop an English reading comprehension book that contains the local values to motivate students in learning English as well as an as attempt to preserve local culture among millennial students who have massively been exposed to western lifestyles. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. However, only the initial three stages out of five will be discussed. 187 participants studying at a university in West Kalimantan were invited online to take part in the needs analysis stage and initial evaluation. The research resulted in a book with an ISBN in accordance to the participants’ needs and points of view in the analysis stage. Initial evaluation reveals that the book is interesting and easier to read that it is expected to increase motivation of English learners.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang paling utama bagi guru-guru adalah berada di zona nyaman dan sulit untuk mengembangkan diri, karena sudah sibuk dengan kegiatan mengajar serta membuat perangkat pembelajaran, oleh sebab itu dengan adanya pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah dan dipublikasikan pada jurnal ilmiah agardapat mengembangkan diri tidak hanya pada proses pengajaran saja, tetapi dapat menulis dan dipublikasi pada jurnal nasional, proses kegiatannya meliputi penyampaian materi, praktek pembuatan artikel, dan praktek mengupload hasil artikel ke jurnal, adapun hasil yang didapat bahwa para peserta sudah sebagianbesar paham dengan tahapan untuk mengupload hasil artikel ilmiah dan pelaksanaannya berjalan dengan lancar serta tidak ada kendala yang berarti.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the rationalization of the ritual of white flour in the ethnic Malay community in Batulayang Village, Pontianak City. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis in this study is presented descriptively using 4 informants. The results show that the white flour ritual in hair clippers is still carried out by the Malay ethnic community in Batulayang Village which contains rational functions and meanings but is not known by the people who actually believe that the white flour ritual is only to reject reinforcements. This is evidenced by the existence of rationalization in the process of carrying out the white flour ritual in the implementation of hair clipping into three namely albarzanji reading, fresh flour ritual and closing prayer. In addition, there is also a rationalization of the ritual function of plain flour in the implementation of hair clipping which is divided into two, namely the function as a guide for individual behavior and the function as social control. And also in the white flour ritual in the implementation of hair clipping there is a rationalization of meaning which is divided into three, namely meaning in the religious aspect, meaning in the cultural aspect and meaning in the educational aspect.

Abstract

AbstrakPada era industrial revolution atau revolusi industri 4.0 saat ini pekerjaan dapat menjadi lebih mudah dikarenakan adanya bantuan teknologi. Begitupun dalam proses belajar mengajar di sekolah dimana generasi saat ini yang disebut sebagai Generasi Z dapat dengan mudah mengupdate dan mendapatkan informasi dengan bantuan teknologi. Di tahun 2022 ini, kami akan melaksanakan PKM yang masih berkisar pada dunia pendidikan, khususnya pada pemanfaatan media pembelajaran digital di SMPN 7 Sungai Raya Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Program tahun ini dirancang sebagai upaya memfasilitasi dan membekali guru-guru di SMPN 7 Sungai Raya Kabupaten Kubu Raya dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran digital untuk menggali potensi dan mampu bersaing secara global di era revolusi ini. Program pemanfaatan Canva sebagai media pembelajaran digital terinspirasi dengan maraknya perkembangan teknologi terutama media pembelajaran digital di bidang pendidikan. Terfasilitasinya guru dengan pemanfaatan media digital Canva diharapkan untuk menggali potensi dan meningkatkan kreativitas guru yang akan berpengaruh pada peningkatan kualitas guru.Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran, Canva, Kualitas Guru

Abstract

AbstrakSemakin ketatnya persaingan di era global dan tuntunan persaingan di dunia kerja, sangat dibutuhkan sumber daya manusia yang memiliki ketrampilan dan mampu membangun dirinya sendiri serta bersama–sama bertanggung jawab atas pembangunan bangsa. Kemajuan suatu bangsa dimasa akan datang sangatlah tergantung pada mutu pendidikan generasi muda saat ini, karena pemuda adalah ujung tombak dari kesuksesan suatu negara. Termasuk dalam profresionalisme guru tentu perlu adanya kemampuan berfikir lebih agar dapat bersaing untuk pendidikan global seperti saat sekarang ini. Terdapat banyak Pengertian Profesionalisme Guru menurut para ahli. Guru merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam proses belajar mengajar. Abstract

Education in border areas is news that cannot be doubted, namely that there are problems regarding a sense of nationalism for students who attend school, in terms of the lack of infrastructure, and the lack of attention from the government because the area is isolated from the district and provincial capitals. Therefore, this service program aims to increase a sense of nationalism through local wisdom on the Indonesia-Malaysia border. The implementation strategy is carried out with a classical approach. Among them is the provision of material that is easily understood by students. The method of implementing the program was carried out in three sessions, namely the welcome session, delivery of material by the team, and giving stimulus to students by playing games (practice) then evaluating by distributing questionnaires about the theme of knowledge of the spirit of nationalism by linking local wisdom. Then it ends with an evaluation of understanding of the material. The results of this service are to provide an increased understanding of the spirit of nationalism, folk games based on local wisdom, national obligatory songs, and questionnaires given as a measurement of students' understanding. The rich culture of local wisdom can increase the spirit of nationalism in students as reinforcement to become more familiar with the surrounding environment in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area

Abstract

This study aims to describe the symbolic meanings that exist in the Tijak Tanah tradition and the procession of the Tijak Tanah tradition in the Malay community in Sungai Nanjung Village, Ketapang Regency. The data sources for this research are the elders in Sungai Nanjung Village, people who usually recite Al-Barzanji, traditional leaders, two communities who have carried out the Tijak Tanah tradition and village staff in Sungai Nanjung Village. Retechniques used for the data collection were interview, observation and documentation methods. The results of the research showed that in the Tijak Tanah tradition the symbols used had meanings such as the sugar cane house symbol which has a meaning as a substitute for baby's feet and hands, but has a meaning to attach illness, coconut water and scissors mean that children are not weak in spirit, 12 eggs mean the spirit of a baby paid for with money, beads mean a form of beauty, and scattered rice means gratitude. The procession for the Tijak Tanah tradition is divided into 3 processes, namely the initial, core and final processes. The initial process is to prepare everything needed for the event, The main process is the top event when the baby is cut into his hair so that his feet are planted on the ground. The final process is reading prayers and eating together.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan workshop ini untuk memperdalam dan memperkuat pengetahuan guru terhadap implementasi kurikulum merdeka di satuan pendidikan. Sasaran kegiatan ini kepada guru-guru di SMA Negeri 1 Jagoi Babang. Diperlukan pelatihan tentang implementasi kurikulum merdeka untuk menjawab tantangan yang semakin kompetitif dan motivasi terbesar dari pengabdi adalah mampu memberikan dan membagikan ilmu yang dimiliki sehingga dapat membantu meningkatkan wawasan guru dan mengatasi permasalahan yang sering timbul dalam proses pendidikan di sekolah, khususnya di di SMA Negeri 1 Jagoi Babang. SMA Negeri 1 Jagoi Babang merupakan sekolah berada di perbatasan Indonesia-Malaysia, sehingga melalui pelatihan setidaknya dapat memperkuat wawasan guru yang berada di wilayah perbatasan dan cenderung jauh dari perhatian langsung pemerintah. Peningkatan SDM dan sarana dan prasarana merupakan faktor penentu keberhasilan luaran peserta didik yang diharapkan. Metode pelatihan yang dilakukan diantaranya tim PKM disambut dengan baik pihak sekolah, penyampaian sambutan, acara inti dan diskusi atau proses tanya jawab dari tim PKM dan peserta pelatihan yang dibantu oleh mahasiswa. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan yaitu kegiatan berjalan lancar dan guru aktif dalam mengikuti pelatihan yang diberikan, kemudian adanya diskusi bersama dosen terkait implementasi kurikulum merdeka.
