Makotek is a cultural tradition which is performed as a ritual to ward off misfortune by the people living at Munggu Village, Badung Regency. It is performed once in six months, namely, every Kuningan Feast Day. It has been inherited from generation to generation as an oral tradition. In the era of globalization, many parties and cultural components are involved in its performance. It is still performed until now. However, the people living at Munggu Village do not close themselves to modernity. The data were collected through observation, interview, library research and documentary techniques. The informants were determined using the purposive and snowball technique. All the data were analyzed in order to draw conclusions. The result of the study shows that the religious ideology which has inspired the people living at Munggu Traditional Village to perform the tradition of Makotek. Ideologically, they believe that by performing the tradition of Makotek, they can protect their resources and the human unity in the middle of the social dynamics in the era of globalization. It is performed in stages, in accordance with the tradition they have adhered to since a long time ago. The performance of the tradition of Makotek at Munggu Village has been able to strengthen their belief in the existence of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi, Almighty God. In addition, such a religious practice is the supernatural source of happiness and health as it is believed to be able ward off misfortune.

Unexpected pregnancy is a story in the performance of Wayang Joblar reflecting a social currently taking place in Denpasar City. As an innovative performance of leather puppets, Wayang Joblar narrates a story that Dewi Trijata is unexpectedly made pregnant by Jembawan who is disguised as Hanoman. It is narrated as the discourse of the phenomenon of unexpected pregnancy and offers a solution to it from the aspects of conformity and responsibility. By observing the text in a deconstructive manner, though the narrative components, it can be understood that the text contains general and particular truths. From the analysis of the phenomenon of the unexpected pregnancy presented in the form of the performance of wayang, it was found that there were three types of ideologies; they are sex ideology, gender ideology, and patriarchal ideology. The discourse of the phenomenon of the unexpected pregnancy presented in the performance of Wayang Joblar functioned as alternative amusement and moral education. The implications were that the established cultural order became torn and that the boundary between the high art and popular one became unclear. However, it could amuse, give solution to the current social problem which could enrich the Wayang Balinese performing art.

This scientific work discusses the existence of the tourism object Tirta Empul as a venue for the economic development of local communities, as well as a multicultural education media for millennials in the 4.0 era. This paper is the result of qualitative research. Data was collected through observation, literature study and in-depth interviews with 11 informants managing Tirta Empul attractions, observers of Balinese culture and tourists visiting Tirta Empul attractions. Data analysis was conducted descriptively-interpretative by applying the theory of tourism development and the theory of commodification. The results of the study show that through promotion in the 4.0 era cybermedia network, the tourism objects of Tirta Empul are increasingly known by local and foreign tourists. Commodification of tourism objects Tirta Empul has aroused manners of entrepreneurship and supports the development of the local Indigenous Village. In addition, the cultural tourism object of Tirta Empul is also a special multicultural education media for millennials. Tourism activities in Tirta Empul that are able to generate social-economic activities and foster multicultural awareness need to be maintained and developed.

When the organizational culture works optimally at a hotel it should have a significant effect on the satisfaction of all parties, including employee satisfaction. Thus the hypothesis of this study confirms that organizational culture significantly influences employee satisfaction at Mercure Resort Sanur, Denpasar, Bali. All primary data were obtained through 48 respondents using the instrument in the form of a questionnaire. All data were analyzed quantitatively to determine the magnitude of the influence of organizational culture on employee satisfaction Mercure Resort Sanur. The results showed that the organizational culture of employee satisfaction at Mercure Resort Sanur had a significant effect. The significance level of the organizational culture of employee satisfaction at Mercure Resort Sanur reaches 0.002, smaller than alpha 0.05. Thus, the research hypothesis is proven.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of Hindu women based on the legends of the wayang performance. Many post-colonial Balinese Hindu women began to leave their culture. To be more empowered, they do not have to leave their culture. They are still relevant as role models, like Dewi Anjani, Srikandi, and Dewi Kunti's struggle in the legends. The issues are as follows: (1) What is the image of Dewi Anjani, Srikandi, and Dewi Kunti's struggle? What can be learned from the three Hindu female figures in the legends? All the data was collected through documentation, observation, and interviews with informants in Denpasar. Qualitative-interpretative descriptive analysis is supported by applying symbol, hegemony, and deconstruction theory. The results show that Dewi Anjani is a female character who is able to fight for her rights equal to her two brothers. Srikandi is a female character who is able to fight on par with the leader of the knights on the battlefield. Meanwhile, Dewi Kunti was able to show a firm attitude during the Pandawa conflict. The images of the three figures are role models for the reconstruction of post-colonial Balinese Hindu women in responding to the challenges of globalization.

The purpose of this publication is to report the results of revealing the relationship between the Penglipuran tourist village and the Balinese culture. Penglipuran known as the tourist village with the best arrangement due to national and international awards. The success of the Penglipuran tourism village arrangement cannot be separated from the role of the Balinese people. The questions are: 1) What is the shape of the Penglipuran Tourism Village arrangement? 2) Does the arrangement of the Penglipuran tourist village have an impact on the preservation of Balinese culture?. This article was written using a qualitative method from the perspective of the sociology of tourism. The primary data required is descriptive, so this qualitative method was chosen. The article production process is optimized by using an ethnomethodological approach and a positivistic paradigm. Some of the data was collected through observation and interviews. Some of the information was obtained through library research. The structural functional and symbolic theory were used to analyze all data qualitatively. The results expected to contribute academically to researchers who are conducting research on tourist villages and Balinese culture. The results of the study show that: 1) Penglipuran tourism village, which is managed for tourists, is in the form of a community-based tourism village; 2) The arrangement of the Penglipuran tourist village has an indirect impact on the preservation of Balinese culture in accordance with local customs. Through the Penglipuran Tourism Village, it is very possible to preserve Balinese culture in the local community.

Publikasi ini disusun berdasarkan penggunaan metode kualitatif. Semua data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara dengan pemerhati pariwisata Bali, pemilik homestay dan pengurusnya di Ubud. Semua data dianalisis dengan menerapkan teori fungsi dan teori praktik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil pengelolaan Homestay bercorak Budaya Tradisional ditengah Pengaruh Trend Millennial di sektor pariwisata berupa bangunan pondok yang disusun berdasarkan prinsip arsitektur tradisional Bali bagi wisatawan. Sebagai akomodasi wisata, Homestay bercorak budaya tradisional Bali mengandalkan keindahan dan keasrian lingkungan rumah khas Bali.

This article was produced based on research in order to analyze the principles of food hygiene & sanitation in the Hotel Indigo Bali. Hygiene & food sanitation are hygiene that are needed by hoteliers to make quality food. However, the food hygiene & sanitation in the show kitchen at Hotel Indigo Bali seems anomie in hospitality studies. The problem is centered on the hygiene & sanitation model in the Show Kitchen Hotel Indigo Bali. Problem solving is pursued based on the use of qualitative methods. Primary data were gathered through observation, interviews with informants at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach. Secondary data were gathered entirely through a food sanitation literature review. All data was analyzed qualitatively with functional structural & symbol theory. The results showed that the principles of food hygiene & sanitation have become part of the standard operating procedures at Hotel Indigo Bali. The implementation of food hygiene & sanitation in the Show Kitchen Hotel Indigo Seminyak Beach looks different because there has been a structural violation in the practice of Show Kitchen Hotel Indigo Seminyak Beach. Tujuan dari publikasi artikel ini adalah menginformasikan capaian kegiatan ketika hari kemerdekaan republik Indonesia ke 73. Mereresik dan Penghijauan merupakan agenda utama dalam kegiatan sehubungan dengan hari kemerdekaan republik Indonesia. Namun, selama kegiatan tidak ditemukan simbol-simbol dalam upacara bendera. Permasalahannyz: 1) Bagaimana bentuk kegiatan penghijauan dan mereresik di desa Bangli?: 2) Bagaimana bentuk perayaan hari ulang tahun kemerdekaan republik Indonesia dalam kegiatan penghijauan dan mereresik di desa Bangli?. Artikel ini diselesaikan dengan metode kualitatif. Semua data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi partisipasi dan studi pustaka. Semua data dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan teori dekonstruksi dan teori resepsi. Hasil menunjukan: 1) Kegiatan penghijauan dan meresik telah dilakukan melalui proses kegiatan pembukaan acara, persembahyangan, pembersihan lingkungan pura dan pemberian donasi; 2) Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia di desa Bangli telah direkognisi oleh civitas akademika STPBI sebagai peluang dalam menjalin kerjasama dengan mitra sehubungan dengan implimentasi nilai-nilai pelayanan yang dipandang penting untuk ketahanan nasional.
