Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui terjadinya misalignment pada komponen trasmisi putaran dan bagaimana cara melakukan alignment yang benar serta melakukan  pengujian  alignment, metode yang digunakan adalah  double dial indikator rim and face . Hasil penelitian pra- alignment yaitu melakukan pengecekan soft foot dengan menggunakan feeler gauge  dengan data rata – rata A  = 0.050 mm, B = 0.037 mm, C = 0.100 mm, D = 0.100 mm, E = 0.038 mm, F = 0.025 mm, G = 0.113 mm, H = 0.163mm, pengecekan run out  yang dilakukan di empat titik pada lingkaran kopling driver dengan penyetingan awal   dari pada arah jam 12 = 0, 9 = 0.006, 6 = 0.031 dan 3 = 0.085,  coupling offset vertikal  sebesar 0,016 mm. Pengecekan run out pada kopling driven dengan titik awal pada arah jam 12 = 0, 9 = 0.032, 6 = 0.107, 3 = 0.005, coupling offset vertikal  sebesar 0,054 mm. Setelah melakukan simulasi reposisi pada kopling driven pebaikan horizontal dan vertikal dengan perhitungan matematis rim and face maka untuk horizontal pillow block harus digeser ke kanan untuk IBdn = 1,040 mm , dan OBdn = 2,268 mm, Namun untuk posisi vertikal maka kaki mesin harus di tambahkan shims pada posisi IBdn =0,688 mm dan OBdn = 1,522 mm.

Abstract

Jalan merupakan prasarana transportasi darat yang sangat penting karena penunjang akses masyarakat dari suatu daerah ke daerah lain. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat di Desa Kembangkuning, Kecamatan Jatiluhur Kabupaten Purwakarta, tepatnya sepanjang jalan Desa Kembangkuning. Jalan desa tersebut merupakan akses keluar masuk masyarakat Desa Cibinong selain Desa Kembangkuning dari jalan raya Jatiluhur-Purwakarta. Metode yang digunakan yaitu survey dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa parah kerusakan dan jumlah lokasi jalan yang rusak, setelah itu perencanaan membuat tugas masing-masing group, pelaksanaan perbaikan jalan sepanjang 1 km tahap akhir evaluasi untuk mengetahui tanggapan masyarakat sekitar. Kebutuhan bahan material untuk perbaikan jalan sepanjang 1 km sebanyak 4 m besi cor, 180 kg semen, 4 m3 pasir dan 10 m3 kerikil untuk memperbaiki jalan sejumlah 27 titik, dimana kegiatan ini dilakukan selama 6 jam dan menghasilkan kondisi jalan sudah rata.

Abstract

Pineapple leaf fiber is currently widely used in furniture and handicraft industries because it is easy to obtain, inexpensive, does not endanger health, can reduce environmental pollution so that later on as a composite reinforcing fiber can overcome environmental problems The choice of epoxy resin as a base material is caused the strength and stiffness of Epoxy resins is greater compared to other types of polymers. This study was intended to see the impact strength of pineapple fibers resin-epoxy and the fracture material of the specimen with macro photographs. The test specimens used pineapple fiber with volume fraction, 10%, 30%, 50% and epoxy resin matrix and hardener as hardener. The specimen is made by casting and mica as a mold. Mechanical testing using impact test, Physical test using photo macro structure. The result of the impact study obtained the impact price on the fraction of 50% volume that is equal to 0.76 J / mm2, this occurs because the fraction of fiber volume of 50% in addition to the distribution of the uniform force by the matrix is also supported by the ideal fiber, from the results of the above research In Can the optimum fiber volume fraction is at 50% volume fraction.

Abstract

Metal Casting method High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) is a method of casting by means of liquid metal into molds injection with velocity and pressure using HPDC machine. Molds are made from carbon steel used. Casting method is performed in the manufacture of Prints Disc Adapter and Stand Lamp with base material of Al-Si alloy 7.79% This study uses a pressure of 50 bar, 75 bar and 100 bar. Castings temperature variation is 7000C, 7500C, and 8000C while the mold temperature 2500C, 3000C, and 3500C. Temperature variation cast and mold temperature will affect the characteristics of the object casting product .. highest Hardness obtained at temperatures of 2500C molding, casting temperature of 7500C. with pressure of 75 bar is 79.94 BHN.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to determine the influence the voltage and time variations of nickel plating against braightness, hardness, and surface roughness of aluminum specimen and to determine the optimum conditions of coating, so that the condition was obtained plating process copper, nickel and chromium are the most effective which can produce the highest brightness and hardness. Materials Testing square with a length of 5cm, 5cm wide and 0.5 cm thick. Specimen coated copper (12V, during 5 second), then coated with nickel (1V, 2V, 3V, 4V, during 5,10,15,20,25 minutes) variation of voltage and time in the nickel plating is an independent variable of this research, and then coated with chromium (12V during 5 second). Tests conducted to determine surface brightness, hardness and surface roughness. Brightness test conduct with Luxmeter, hardness test with micro Vickers method with a 10gr load, and surface roughness test with roughness test. Brightness test result shows that specimen (2V,25 minutes) have the highest brightness (78%), and specimen (1V, 5 minutes) have the lowest brigthness(50%). Hardness test results show that the raw material surface have the hardness of is 38.3 VHN, shown at the highest hardness of specimens (2V, 25 minute) = 229 VHN and specimens (3V, 20 minute) = 229 VHN, an increase of 497.9% compared to the basic specimen hardness.

Abstract

This gas cutting machine is an ST-37 metal cutting tool in a semi-automatic way using Liquified Potroleum Gas (LPG) and Oxygen gas materials. LPG gas is used with a composition of propane 80% and Isobutane 20%. In the process of cutting metal based on several parameters, namely: metal thickness, oxygen gas pressure, and LPG gas and cutting speed. Before cutting down the metal, the preparation stage is done by conditioning the test equipment and work equipment used to collect test data. The method used in this research is to select the type of metal and cutting equipment then do the recording and taking test data. Further analysis and examination are carried out as follows: visual inspection of the results of cutting and flame shape, a better composition results from testing in accordance with applicable rules such as pressure, plate thickness, and time of cutting. 80% and 20% LPG gas composition at gas working pressure: 0.2 kg / cm2, oxygen pressure: 2.5 kg / cm2, cutting distance of 2 mm. The results of this test are overall in good condition and no defects occur.Keywords: LPG Gas cutting, Propane, Isobutane, Cutting speed, oxygen.

Abstract

Particle size and hardness of Al-10%wt.Ti powders due to the influence of ball diameter have been carried out using mechanical alloying techniques. The milling device used consisted of a Fritsch Pulverisette-5 planetary type ball mill with the rotational speed of about 360 rpm and balls size of 10, 15 and 20 mm. The materials used are stearic acid which was used as a process control agent, aluminum and titanium powders. A mixture of aluminum and titanium powders has the composition of Al-10wt.%Ti. The Al-10wt.%Ti powders, stearic acid and stainless-steel balls were added to the Fritsch Pulverisette-5 planetary in the argon gas environment. The weight ratio of stainless steel balls to the Al-10wt.%Ti powder was 20 : 1. The mixing time process was carried out for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 hours, respectively. Changes in phase compositions of these Al-Ti powders under different ball mill sizes were examined by XRD, and the optimum experimental parameter was obtained: the ball mill size was 20 mm. It was found that from the diffraction patterns of the Al-10wt.%Ti powders, the peaks of titanium begin to disappear with the increasing of the milling time, which indicates the increasing degrees of alloying of titanium atoms in the aluminum matrix. The microhardness test results showed that the hardness increases with increasing ball size.

Abstract

Telah dilakukaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat oleh dosen beserta mahasiswa Prodi Teknologi Mesin Politeknik Enjinering Indorama dengan tujuan peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia bidang pendidikan kejuruan. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keahlian siswa SMK Purwakarta dalam desain gambar yang dibutuhkan oleh perusahaan manufaktur yang ada di purwakarta dan sekitarnya. Inventor adalah suatu produk dari Autodesk Inc. USA yang lebih familier dengan produk AutoCAD. Autodesk Inventor fokus untuk perancangan objek 3D. Pelaksanaan pelatihan diawali dengan survei ke SMK yang dituju, membuat kesepakan, mengurus perijinan kedirektur dan LPPM Politeknik Enjinring Indorama, perijinan dan kesiapan dari pihak SMK, hingga pelaksanaan. Pihak SMK sangat puas dengan pelatihan yang diselenggarakan dan berharap peletihan semacam ini dapat berjalan secara kontinu minimal 1x dalam setahun, para guru SMK berharap pelatihan yang sama juga dapat dilakukan terhadap guru SMK di Purwakarta untuk meningkatkan keahlian, terutama bagi guru yang mengajar pada bidang menggambar.

Abstract

R290 is a type of natural refrigerant that has ODP = 0 and GWP = 4. While R32 from synthetic materials has ODP= 0 and GWP = 675 both are refrigerants used in Split AC. With this high GWP, it can have a damaging impact on the atmosphere. The advantage of R290 is that it has a lower density compared to R32, which can save the number of fillings in the AC unit by ±30% of the previous amount of refrigerant in the same volume. R290/R32 was flammable with LFL= 2%/13% and UFL= 10%/33%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of R290 as a substitute for R32 on an AC-split unit with a capacity of 9,000 Btuh/hr. The steps used in the test are that the AC unit is placed in an open room with ambient temperature around 32°/80°C. The test was carried out until it reaches the optimal and stable temperature, then data is collected. The results of data collection from the evaporator air temperature R290/R32 = 21.4°C/23.0°C, condenser air temperature = R290/R32= 35°C/38.5°C, suction pressure= 90 psig/130 psig and discharge 200 psig/420 psig. The test data were analyzed and calculated using the Mollier Chart software with the results = R290/R32 = refrigeration effect = 344.8/272.2 kJ/kg, compression work = 12.18/13.02 kJ/kg, COP = 28.3/20.9, compression ratio = 2.2/3.2, strong electric current 4.98/5.73 A. From the decrease in electric current of R290 obtained a savings of 13.3% was obtained when converted to electricity bill payment and get a profit of 45,886/month.

Abstract

Pengecoran Logam dengan metode High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) adalah metode pengecoran dengan cara mengijeksikan cairan logam kedalam cetakan dengan kecepatan dan tekanan tertentu menggunakan mesin HPDC. Cetakan yang digunakan berbahan dasar baja karbon. Metode pengecoran tersebut dilakukan pada pembuatan Cetakan Adaptor Cakram dan Dudukan Lampu dengan bahan dasar paduan Al-Si 7,79%. Penelitian ini menggunakan tekanan sebesar 50 bar, 75 bar dan 100 bar. Variasi temperatur tuang adalah 700oC, 750oC, dan 800oC sedangkan temperatur cetakan 250oC, 300oC, dan 350oC. Variasi temperatur tuang dan temperatur cetakan akan mempengaruhi karakteristik dari benda hasil coran. Kekerasan tertinggi didapatkan pada temperatur molding 250°C, temperatur tuang 750°C dengan tekanan 75 bar yaitu 79,94 BHN.
