Abstract

Coupling is one of the components are widely used in various industries. Coupling is widely used as a power transfer transmission. Coupling have a long life time, it mean coupling was damage if out of the maintenance. The one factor is misalignment. This study aim to determine the effect of misalignment on the coupling transmission to vibration, electric current and shaft rotation speed. In this study, was done alignment process with variations of misalignment on the coupling transmission and was done measurement value of vibration,  electric current and shaft rotation speed. The study results show that the changed of misalignment would give a positive impact to vibration and electric current. For the effect misalignment to shaft rotation speed, the study results show that the changed of misalignment would give a negative impact to shaft rotation speed.

Abstract

Coupling is one of the components are widely used in various industries. Coupling is widely used as a power transfer transmission. This study aim to determine the effect of misalignment on the coupling transmission to vibration, electric current and shaft rotation speed. The study results show that the changed of misalignment would give a positive impact to vibration and electric current. For the effect misalignment to shaft rotation speed, the study results show that the changed of misalignment would give a negative impact to shaft rotation speed.

Abstract

Motorized trike drift is a unique means of transportation that is adapted from a bicycle with 3 wheels, 2 wheels at the rear and 1 wheel at the front for steering control. The purpose of the study was to design and manufacture of motorized trike drift  using gasoline engine Suzuki Jet Cooled 110 cc as a power source. From the process of designing and manufacturing, has produced a motorized trike drift using  gasoline engine Suzuki Jet Cooled 110 cc as a power source. The transmission system used is a chain and sprocket. From the test results, the speed of motorized trike drift can reach 40 km /hour, but for convenience, the speed limit is 20-25 km / hour. For fuel use, 1 litre of fuel can be used within 30 minutes or within a distance of 15-20 km.

Abstract

Elephant grass and palm frond chopping machines is a machine used to chop elephant grass and palm fronds for animal feed. The purpose of the study is to design and manufacture a machine used for animal feed. This machine is designed and manufactured to chop elephant grass and palm fronds. Based on the results of the design and manufacture, a machine for chopping elephant grass and palm fronds for animal feed has been designed and manufactured. This machine uses a gasoline motor with a capacity of 5.5 HP. While the transmission system used is a pulley and belt transmission system. Based on the test results, the elephant grass and palm frond chopping machine can operate and function properly. The test results also show that the volume of chopped elephant grass is greater than the volume of chopped palm fronds. While the results of chopped elephant grass are better than the results of chopped palm fronds

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara studi literatur dengan mengambil contoh di Provinsi Riau. Dari penelitian ini akan diketahui perkiraan potensi energi listrik terbarukan yang dapat dihasilkan oleh limbah-limbah cair pabrik kelapa sawit. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dari berbagai sumber yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini. Data –data tersebut diolah untuk dianalisa sehingga dapat ditentukan potensi energi listrik terbarukan yang dihasilkan oleh limbah cair tersebut. Adapun perhitungan yang dilakukan adalah menentukan jumlah bahan baku TBS yang diolah oleh PKS-PKS di Riau, menentukan jumlah limbah cair yang di produksi, menentukan nilai COD, menentukan jumlah metana yang diproduksi, dan terakhir menentukan energi listrik yang dapat dihasilkan dari limbah cair PKS-PKS tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan dalam merancang pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas (PLTBg) di Provinsi Riau, sehingga kekurangan energi listrik di Riau dapat teratasi terutama untuk daerah-daerah terpencil yang ada disekitar PKS dan jauh dari akses listrik PLN. Selain itu penelitian ini juga dapat membantu PKS-PKS dalam mengolah limbah cair mereka menjadi lebih bermanfaat serta ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar potensi energi listrik yang dapat dihasilkan oleh limbah cair pabrik kelapa sawit (POME) sebagai energi terbarukan. Fokus penelitian ini dimulai dari pengumpulan data dari berbagai sumber tentang limbah cair yang dihasilkan oleh pabrik-pabrik kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Kampar. Kemudian akan dilakukan analisa terhadap potensi biogas dan energi listrik yang dapat dihasilkan dari limbah cair tersebut. Adapun data yang dibutuhkan diantaranya jumlah pabrik kelapa sawit (PKS) yang beroperasi di Kabupaten Kampar, kapasitas pengolahan tandan buah segar (TBS) dari masing-masing PKS, serta limbah cair yang dihasilkan PKS-PKS tersebut. Metode pengumpulan data tersebut dilakukan dengan melakukan survei ke lokasi PKS dan pencarian informasi di website. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan dalam merancang pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas (PLTBg) di Kabupaten Kampar. Dengan adanya PLTBg ini diharapkan dapat membatu pemerintah dalam menyediakan energi listrik bagi masyarakat, terutama masyarakat yang berada jauh dari akses listrik PLN. Selain itu penelitian ini juga dapat membantu PKS-PKS dalam mengolah limbah cair mereka menjadi lebih bermanfaat serta ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

In this study, the use of the PLC application with the PIC 16F877A microcontroller is described, starting from circuit design, assembly, and its use in several applications in PLCs including: setting railroad crossings, distributing goods on conveyors, and setting traffic lights. Programming the ladder diagram of the application is done with the LDmicro program. From the results of this study it is hoped that a PLC device that is more economical, has high reliability and is easy to operate can be made.

Abstract

Computer-aided design (CAD) is one of the competencies taught to vocational students. The software commonly used is Auto CAD, which focuses on constructing two-dimensional (2D) drawings. AutoCAD can also create three-dimensional (3D) drawings, but its features are limited. Based on these conditions, through community service activities, Politeknik Kampar improves the competence of students of SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota, Department of Mechanical Engineering. This activity aims to strengthen the CAD competence of vocational students using Solidworks software. The results of the training activities show the level of success with indications of a positive response from the participants and the participant's understanding of the material being taught. Computer-aided design (CAD) merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang diajarkan kepada siswa smk. Software yang biasa digunakan adalah Auto CAD yang fokus pada konstruksi gambar dua dimensi (2D). AutoCAD juga dapat digunakan untuk membuat Gambar tiga dimesnsi (3D), tetapi fiturnya sangat terbatas. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, Politeknik Kampar turut serta dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota, Jurusan Teknik Pemesinan melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi CAD dari siswa smk menggunakan software Solidworks. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan dengan indikasi adanya adanya respon yang positif dari peserta serta pemahaman peserta terhadap materi yang diajarkan.
