Abstract

A triterpenoid derivative compound, oleane-12-en-2,3,23-triol-28-oat, from chloroform fraction of root wood ofPterospermum subpeltatum C. B. Rob (Sterculiaceae) was identified using IR, 1H dan 13C NMR data. The compoundhas shown toxicity against Artemia salina, LC50 of 46.06 μg/mL, and antibacterial potential upon Shigella boydii andStaphylococcus aureus with inhibition zones of 8.3 and 9.8 mm respectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terdapat dalam ekstrak n-heksan daun tumbuhan maja (A. marmelos Linn) yang berasal dari Desa Balong, Kec. Ujung Loe, Kab. Bulukumba. Isolasi dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap yaitu maserasi, fraksinasi, uji kemurnian, dan identifikasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh kristal murni berwarna putih bening berbentuk jarum dengan titik leleh 140-142°C. Hasil pengukuran spektrum IR menunjukkan pita serapan pada bilangan gelombang 3442 cm-1, 2958 cm-1, 2935 cm-1, 1641 cm-1, 1462 cm-1, 1377 cm-1 dan 1058 cm-1 yang cenderung memiliki kesamaan spektrum dari senyawa steroid yang telah berhasil diidentifikasi. Berdasarkan titik leleh dan data spektrum IR, kristal yang diperoleh diduga golongan senyawa steroid.Kata kunci: Aegle marmelos Linn, Steroid, Maja

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk menemukan langkah-langkah penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E yang terintegrasi dengan metode problem solving sehingga dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada materi titrasi dan kesetimbangan larutan. Penelitian ini berlangsung dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan evaluasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah di setiap akhir siklus. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan memaparkan gambaran umum tentang data yang diperoleh selama penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik meningkat setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E dengan langkah-langkah fase engagement, fase exploration, fase explanation, fase elaboration yang terintegrasi dengan metode problem solving, dan fase evaluation. Hasil analisis data rata-rata aktivitas belajar peserta didik terjadi peningkatan yaitu dari 72.0% pada siklus I menjadi 76.3% pada siklus II. Sedangkan pada persentase rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik juga terjadi peningkatan yaitu dari 78.3% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 84.8% pada siklus selanjutnya

Abstract

Tumbuhan sirsak (Annona muricata Linn) adalah tumbuhan yang telah lama digunakan oleh masyarakat secara tradisional untuk pengobatan dan sebagai bahan makanan, seperti pengobatan kanker, diare, anti kejang, anti jamur dan gatal-gatal.Tumbuhan ini merupakan salah satu spesies dari genus Annona termasuk family Annonaceae.Metode penelitian meliputi ekstraksi (maserasi), dan uji bioaktivitas ekstrak dengan Uji Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BLST) terhadap Artemia salina. Dari hasil  uji toksisitas dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test, diperoleh aktivitas ekstrak kloroform  kulit batang sirsak dengan nilai LC50 adalah 247,86 ppm.Kata kunci: Annona muricata Linn, Toksisitas, Obat Tradisional, dan Artemia salina

Abstract

Pterospermum subpeltatum C.B. Rob or bayur is traditionally and widely used as medicine for infection diseases caused by bacteria. Four extract from root stem of this plant were evaluated for their antibacterial activity properties against Escherichia coli, Shigella boydii, staphylococcus aureus dan Streptococcus mutan. All the extract were able to inhibited the bacterial strain except Staphylococcus aureus. Chloroform extract exhibited effect for   Shigella boydii and Streptococcus mutan. Hexana extract for Escherichia coli, while methanol extract for Shigella boydii. All extract showed an effect at the same extend (MIC; 50 mg/ml).

Abstract

This exploratory study resulted in the isolation and identification of secondary metabolites in ethyl acetate extracts from the Maja bark (Aegle marmelos Linn.) from Pattappa Village, Pujananting Subregency, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. The stages of isolation included maceration, fractionation, and purification. Maceration was performed with methanol, fractionation with ethyl acetate, a particular ratio of acetone (9:1) was used, and purification was done by flowing nitrogen gaseous into the E5 fraction. Furthermore, the classification test and FTIR spectrophotometer were carried out for identification. Pure isolates in the form of white crystals were obtained with a melting point of 242oC. Reagent tests indicated a brown precipitate on Wagner's test and a white precipitate on Mayer's test. Infrared-spectrophotometric identification provided typical absorption for such functional groups as NH, aliphatic CH, aromatic C=C, and amine CN.  The reagent tests and FTIR-spectrophotometer identification confirmed that the secondary metabolites fit well into the class of alkaloids.

Abstract

Bayur  plant    (Pterospermum  subpeltatum  C.B.  Rob)  has  not  been searched  for  their  secondary  metabolites.  However,  this  genes  was  used  as traditional   medicines  such as Pterospermum  javanicum   as cure for dysentry, toothache and Pterospermum  acerifolium   fer itchy drug. From toxicity test by BLST upon various tissues it was found that methanol extract, compared to other parts, has higher value 220 ppm.Keywords:  Pterospermum  subpeltatum  C.B. Abstract

This research is an experimental study that aims to determine the characteristics of gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) synthesized using trisodium citrate as a reducing agent. 0.4 mM HAuCl4 solution was synthesized using Na3C6H5O7 to convert Au3+ to Au0 with several variations of the reducing agent concentration, 3.5%; 5%; 6.5% and 8%. Determination of reaction time was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with time variations of 1, 5, 15, 30 and 45 minutes. Characterization of the size and lattice of Au-NPs crystals using X-Ray Difraction (XRD) and morphological characterization using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The results of the characterization, Au-NPs were produced blackish brown in color, and yields were 66.13%, 89%, 59.63% and 50.30% respectively for trisodium citrate reductant concentrations of 3.5%; 5%; 6.5% and 8%, with an average Au-NPs size of 46.97; 19.06; 50.03 and 39.68 nm, Face Centered Cubic (FCC) Crystal lattice and have a homogeneous morphology.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity was to convey the use of science and technology in increasing coconut oilproduction in the village of Tugondeng, Herlang District, Bulukumba Regency. Based on the identification of theproblem, the process of making coconut oil in the village of Tugondeng is still traditional, without the developmentof science and technology. Thus, the community service program team provided counseling on the process ofmaking coconut oil by fermentation. The results obtained show that the process of making coconut oil byfermentation only takes a short time in the heating process in order to minimize energy usage.

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research which aims to determine the effect of using virtual labs media in problem based learning (PBL) model toward students learning outcomes in class XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Jeneponto study on acid base titration. This study design used is posttest-only control group design. These study population were all the students of class XI MIA of SMAN 1 Jeneponto which consists of six classes. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. The class XI MIA 3 as experiment group and XI MIA 5 as control group each of which consists of 31 students, the learning process is carried out online. Technique of collecting data of the learning result done by giving post-test to experiment group dan control group. In analysing the data, the researcher used descriptive and inferential statistics. The result of the analysis shows that the average of learning outcomes of experiment group is 77,47 higher than the control  group is 62,25. Result of hypothesis test by using Mann-Whitney test with ?= 0,05 (non-parametrik test) obtained that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. It shows that there is an influence of using virtual labs media in problem based learning (PBL) model toward students learning outcomes in class XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Jeneponto study on acid base titration.
