Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the scientific trend of research on Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) through bibliometric study and explore how the contribution of Indonesian researchers in the Scopus database from 2015 to 2019. The sample was composed of 2075 documents in total. The results revealed that scientific publication on TPACK has been increasing. United States contributed the most documents on TPACK as well as Singapore’s institutions dominated in this area. Meanwhile, Indonesia put its two representative’s institutions: Universitas Sebelas Maret and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, among the big ten institutions in the world. All Indonesian documents produced by teacher-producing universities and public universities. United States and Taiwan have also contributed to the most productive authors of TPACK. Then, the visualization of research trend on TPACK resulted in four major clusters: i) TPACK as a system; ii) TPACK in relating to its scale; iii) TPACK in connecting with quantitative parameters; and iv) TPACK under beliefs, intention, and technology acceptance. The research findings could aid related researchers to recognize the trend of TPACK research and recommend directions for further research.

EFFECTIVITY OF VIRTUAL LABORATORY TRAINING AS A LEARNING MEDIA FOR CHEMISTRY TEACHERSAchmad Lutfi, SukarminUniversitas Negeri Surabaya, Indonesia achmadlutfi@unesa.ac.idAbstractThe study aims to determine the level of training achievement using virtual laboratories for chemistry teachers on the ability of teachers to use virtual laboratories and the achievement of objectives in learning chemistry using virtual laboratories. The training was conducted for chemistry teachers who were members of the City and District High School Chemistry Teachers' Working Group (MGMP). During the study, the teachers were trained in how to install, operate virtual laboratories, and conduct experiments with virtual laboratories. At the end of the activity, an ability test was conducted using a virtual laboratory, giving questionnaires to participants and assigning participant assignments in the form of lesson plans (RPP) with the use of virtual laboratories as learning media. The data obtained showed that 90% of the participating teachers had been able to use virtual laboratory programs, including installing, operating, and conducting experiments with virtual laboratories. 82-100% of the participants found it useful to participate in the activities, and the compiled lesson plans showed that the participants were able to use the virtual laboratory as a medium for chemistry learning with a percentage of 85% -100%, and students gave positive responses and good learning outcomes after participating in chemistry learning with use of virtual laboratories. Abstract

In chemistry, an abstract material consists of three levels of representations that are macroscopic, sub-microscopic, and symbolic. However, many students have misconceptions due to the difficulty in understanding the relationship between the three levels representations. Misconceptions should be reduced or prevented as early as possible because it is resistant and difficult to change. Stoichiometry represents one example of chemistry material which consists of abstract concepts that usually lead to student misconceptions. The misconception in this material can be reduced if the wrong concept has already detected. Therefore it needed the tool that can detect and reduce these misconceptions. Software can be used as the tool to detect and reduce misconception because it has two functions as assessment and learning tool. Software must be said effective before it is used by student. So that this study aim is knowing the effectiveness of software to detect and reduce misconceptions in stoichiometry material. This study used Research and Development method. The result of this study shows that software is effective to detect and reduce misconceptions. It is proved by the average percentage of misconception shift to understand the concept about 80,13% which is categorized as effective.

Abstract

Interactive e-modules are one of the innovations of teaching materials in Society 5.0 considered innovative for learning. As innovative teaching materials interactive e-modules are recommended, it is hoped that 21st-century teachers will be able to develop their interactive e-modules that suit students’ character and the learning methods used. However, based on a survey that has been conducted, 79% of teachers still use PowerPoint (.ppt) as teaching materials. This activity was held to provide training on making interactive e-modules to the chemistry MGMP team in Gresik based on a scientific approach. This interactive e-module is equipped with teaching materials such as pictures, videos/animations, quizzes, and interactive features to attract students’ attention. The methods used in this service include coordination, interactive e-module design, instrument creation, training implementation, evaluation, management, and publication. Analysis of data obtained from training activities proves that teachers are interested in creating and using interactive e-modules for learning. The interactive e-module is considered an attractive design for learning following the era of Society 5.0.

Abstract

Misconceptions often occur, especially in chemical material like stoichiometry which are full of abstract concepts. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of mistion software to detect and reduce misconceptions in stoichiometric material with conceptual change text strategy. This research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method with 15 students of SMAN 1 Gedangan as research subjects. Software is developed using Adobe Flash CS 6 with action script 3.0. The software's feasibility is viewed from the validity practicality, and effectiveness. The data analysis results show that 1) the software is very valid with the average result of content validation is 93.52%, and the construct validation is 91.82%. 2) The software is very practical, with an average result of student response questionnaires is 95.28% and supported with the average result of student observations is 85%. 3) Software is effective with the average result of misconception shift for sub-concept basic chemical law is 77.27% with effective category, sub-concept of reaction equation is 85.05% with very effective category, and sub-concept of mole is 73,72% with effective category. Based on the result, we can conclude that mistion software is feasible to detect and reduce students' misconception.

This research method uses research and development methods that are limited to product trials with research subjects 12 students of class XI MA Roudlotun Nasyiin. The instruments used in this research include validation sheets, observation sheets and student responses, and three tier diagnostic test. The data analysis technique of this research used descriptive quantitative. The results showed the percentage of content validation was 92.59% in the very valid category and the construct validation was 91,44% in the valid category. The results of the percentage of the questionnaires response was 91.31% and the result of the observations was 95,39% both of which were included in the very practical category. The result of the percentage shift of students' misconceptions was 87.95% with the very effective category. Judging from the results of the validation, practicality, and effectiveness, C-Bonds interactive media can be said to be feasible to detect and reduce student misconceptions.

Abstract

This research aims to gain the feasibility of interactive multimedia on the chemical learning of atomic structure materials class X Mipa. This research is a study using research methods research and developmen, the research design used is a 4D model that is limited to 3 stages, namely define, design and develop. This studies became performed at SMAN 21 Surabaya on 33 college students of class X Mipa. This observe used validation instrument sheets, pretest and posttest, student response questionnaires and student observation questionnaires. If the price of the validation end result is ≥61% then it’s taken into consideration valid, the practicality price is ≥61% then it’s taken into consideration sensible and the effectiveness price is ≥61% then it’s taken into consideration effective. The validity of the contents and constructs of 85.6% and 82.92% falls into the class of very valid. Practicality obtained by 96.71% and 95.83% of student observations is considered practical. Effectiveness is obtained from the learning results of students using pretest and posttest questions and obtained pretest results of 21.21% and posttest results of 100% so that there is a difference between pretest and posttest students' grades. This suggests that interactive multimedia atomic structure materials can be used as a medium of chemical learning. Keywords: Interactive Multimedia, Atomic Structure, Chemistry
