Abstract

About one-third of dolphin species in the world is living in Indonesia,including some other types categorized by rareness and threatened of extinct. Thepurposes of this research are to analyse visually the dolphin behaviour on thesurface of water area at its real habitat. Equipments used in this research wereidentification book of dolphin, and visual sensus on dolphin with line transec zigzagmethod. In Kiluan Bay, there were two species of dolphin found, namely Stenellalongirostris (Spinner dolphin) and Tursiops truncatus (Bottlenose dolphin). Duringperception, the coastal water were predominated by Spinner dolphin, 61,33%.Dolphin movement in coastal water of Kiluan Bay between 100 to 800 metres.Keywords: Stenella longirostris, Bottlenose dolphin, Kiluan Bay

Abstract

Develop fishing with regard to the code of conduct for responsible fisheries (CCRF) as suggested by the FAO. The objectives of the research were: 1) analysisstatus of fish resources utilization in Dumai, and 2) analysis fishing technology thatis good to be developed in Dumai (biology,social and techno-economic). Thisreseach was focused on fishing gears i.e. Bottom long line, Scoopnet, Portable trap.Result of research indicated that exploiting of fish resourcees demersal in territorialwater Dumai over Total Allowable Catches (TAC) 80% from MSY. Abstract

This studied aims to identified and analyzied the construction and design ofKurau gillnet used by fishermen in the Pambang, Bengkalis. This research usedSurvey method by directly interviewing the fishermen and measuring equipmentused. Result from this research was shown that the net where using multifilamentof material blue with 974.4 m in width 13.9 m in length of nets, according to thenumbers of eye length (mesh length) 5800, the numbers of eye towards the bottom(mesh depth) 83. Ris and buoy rope using the same material was PE(polyethilene) with a length of 480 m. Shortening to the net value of 50.73%. Abstract

Abstract

This study was conducted in November 2013 in the Village of Nipah Panjang 1, District Nipah Panjang, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Province of Jambi. The method used in the research study construction gillnet fishing gear is a method of survey. The purpose of this study was to compile information about the specifications of gillnet fishing gear operating in the village of Nipah Panjang 1 . After doing research on the net to know that gillnet operated in the village most of the Nipah Panjang 1 has a construction similar to that of the gill nets are generally composed of ris top rope buoy rope , net weight , lower ris rope , buoys , big bouys and sinker . It's just shortening value less than 30 % , while there is a difference in vertices of the mesh gillnet use this is caused from the characteristics of the material . If the materials used PA multifilament englis knot used for the passage of knots and knot using monofilament double englis knot because the danger of a more slippery surface.Keywords: Contruction, Gillnet, Jambi

Abstract

This research was conducted at December 2013 in the Lambur Luar, East Muara Sabak, East Tanjung Jabung, Jambi Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of Trawl cod end. While the benefits are expected to provide useful information for writers, for readers, and for the people Lambur Luar, as well as an input to the fisher of Lambur Luar to modify fishing gear and Trawl cod end size so as to correspond to the number of catches expected. Efficiency of Trawl cod end is a principle which enables the achievement of the best comparison between total catches and volume of Trawl cod end. Efficiency values of Trawl cod end obtained from the division between total catches per operation with Trawl cod end volume and multiplied by 100 %. The trawl cod end of Lambur Luar is very inefficient, it can see from the result the values of trawl cod end efficency between 0,1-0,31. The average of trawl cod end efficiency is 0,15.Keywords : Efficiency, Trawl cod end, Total catches.

Abstract

For purpose to collect information  on construction of the fishing gear which was operated  by fishermen at Pasar Lama Village, Labuhanhaji district, South Aceh regency, Aceh province. A series survey activity was conducted for observation of fishing gear characteristic data. The data was compared by literature study. The result show that the fishermen was operated four types of fishing gear such as, gillnet, purse seine, hand line and lift net. They have small and large types, according to the main target species. The small type gillnet is called as” salam” and large type is called “tanjap”. The both of gill net have different mesh  size and mesh knot, namely single and double English knot. The construction of purse seine consists of webbing, upper line, buoy line, sell ledge, lower line, sinker line, purse line, buoy, sinker, and ring. The construction of lift net consists of fishing, webbing, frame, upper line, towing rope nets and sinker line. The construction of hand line consists of roller, main line, branch line, bait, sinker and hook. Key words :  Fishing gear, gillnet, hand line, lift net, purse seine

Abstract

AbstractThe research about results of catching crabs (Scylla Sp) with many baits using pinto fishing gear ( lift net) was do in september 2014 at desa sei nagalawan, Kecamatan Perbaungan, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai SumateraUtara. Aims to compare result of catching crabs use bait, commonly used by fisherman with another bait alternative. Will be expected can increase fisherman income. The method used in this research is experimetall fishing method is trials catching crabs (Scilla Sp) use natural bait an semi artifial bait with used lift net fishing techniques. Was done in 10 repetition and 4 treatments in one day was doing 2 times catches . research was doing in three days.The results of research show total most result of cacthing are used head of chicken bait ( 82 crabs) second, with used fish bait (43 crabs) last, with belangkas bait (33 crabs) and the most low results is with mixed bait (19 crabs).Keywords: Pento Fishing gear, bait, crab

Abstract

This research was conducted on July 2014, which is held in the Laboratory of fishing Gear Materials, Utilization of Water Resources, The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to know breaking strength of Tetoron yarns which have experienced the preservation of different extracts and drying times. This study used an experimental method by performing the experiments effect of Tetoron yarns which will experienced the preservation by the extracts of papaya leaves, guava leaves and betel leaves that were soaked in the equal concentration. The Breaking strength of yarns that used betel leaves in 10 days of drying times are higher than the yarns with both of the other extracts. It is caused by the tanin degree of betel leaves is higher than the other extracts, that is amount 20% of tanin degree. By the computation of ANAVA test obtained the result Fhit > Ftab, sig < 0,01, it means that there are the differences of Tetoron yarns breaking strength with different extracts soaking and drying times.Keyword : The breaking strength of yarns with different exstract soaking and drying times.

Abstract

This research was conducted on March 2015, which is held in the Laboratory of fishing Gear Materials, Utilization of Water Resource, The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the use of preservatives fiber betel leaf extract (Piper betle) with different concentrations of the breaking strength and elengation PES yarn (Polyester). So it can determine the best concentration of the extract. From the measurement of breaking strength tetoron thread that has been getting treatment, the thread tetoron with treatment B (0.7 Kg / Liter of water) has the highest average 5.3 kgf, and followed by treatment of A (0.5 Kg / Liter water), and treatment C (0.9 Kg / Liter of water) with each value of the breaking strength of 5.15 kgf and 5.05 kgf. Tetoron yarn elengation which have been getting treatment, the thread tetoron with treatment B (0.7 Kg / Liter of water) has the highest average is 33.5 mm, and is followed by treatment of A (0.5 Kg / Liter of water) and treatment C (0.9 Kg / Liter of water) with each tetoron yarn elengation are 531.9 mm and 30.2 mm.Keywords : Breaking Strength , Elengation , Tetoron Yarn , Betel Leaves
