Abstract

Net generation adalah generasi yang muncul dengan perubahan signifikan berupa munculnya komputer, internet dan media digital lainnya. Munculnya computer, internet dan media digital merupakan perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi tidak bisa dibendung oleh siapapun. Begitu juga para pustakawan yang harus melayani pemustaka net generation ini. Hal ini menjadi tantangan para pustakawan perguruan tinggi dalam melayani kebutuhan informasi pemustaka net generation. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi yang harus dimiliki pustakawan cybrarian (cyber librarian) dalam menghadapi pemustaka net Generation (cyber user). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pustaka menggunakan literatur-literatur terkait bahasan penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini kompetensi yang harus dimiliki oleh para pustakawan cybrarian menghadapi net generation (cyber user) diantaranya yaitu kemampuan visual literacy, digital literacy, ICT literacy, dan Information literacy. Dan best practice cybrarian perpustakaan IAIN Salatiga, telah menunjukkan berbagai keterampilan cybrarian baik kemampuan di bidang visual literacy, digital literacy, ICT literacy dan information literacy.

Abstract

Islamic State Institute of Religious Affair (IAIN) Salatiga library carries out user education for new library members / new students on new student orientation. In the 2019/2020 academic year, and in 2021, IAIN Salatiga library cannot conduct user education face-to-face due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So the researcher and librarian of IAIN Salatiga tried to design a web-based user education information system. The purpose of this research is to design a web-based user education information system to make it easier for new students of IAIN Salatiga to follow user education online and without a time limit (unlimited) and at the same time register as a member of the IAIN Salatiga library online. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the method of observation, interviews and literature study. The design method used is object-oriented through the Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling stage, namely use case diagrams and class diagrams as database.

Abstract

Head of the Library of Muhammadiyah University (UMY), as well as the author of books about library management, namely Lasa H.S. is a teacher, father, and role model for future librarians. His peak career as the main librarian became his extraordinary dedication at the Library of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta. Lasa H.S.'s motivational quotes namely "If you want to know the world then read and if you want to be known by the world then write". After his retirement at UGM, he was asked by UMY to become a Captain at the UGM Library. Armed with his experience while serving at the UGM Library, he got the mandate to be the Head of the UMY Library for three periods. The focus of this research is on the type of leadership of the Head of the UMY Library. The types of prophetic leadership include authoritarian leadership, Laissez Faire leadership, and democratic leadership. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using data from interviews, literature studies and documentation. The informants of this study were the head of the UMY library and librarian. The result of this research is that Lasa H.S. in carrying out his leadership duties at the UGM library, he is a type of prophetic leadership based on Islam and guided by the Koran and Hadith. This prophetic leadership is included in situational leadership theory, which combines several leadership models, namely: authoritarian, laissez faire, and democratic.

Abstract

AbstractThis research purpose to explore the level of effectiveness of Kitab literacy training program at IAIN Salatiga and IAIN Purwokerto. This research is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique in this research was using non-probability sampling-purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire while the data collection technique was by filling out a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive techniques with percentages. The results showed that the effectiveness level of the kitab literacy training at IAIN Salatiga was 82.15% in the very effective category, as well as IAIN Purwokerto in the very effective category at 93.8%. And has contributed to the achievement of the objectives of kitab literacy training at both IAIN Salatiga and IAIN Purwokerto. However, the training still needs some improvement, mainly in the development of training materials, improving the model of trainers in delivering the material, extending the time for training publication / socialization, increasing practice time, good training time management, providing representative training media technology and an adequate internet networks, and development of digital kitab information systems. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas pelatihan literasi kitab di IAIN Salatiga dan IAIN Purwokerto. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sample pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling-purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dengan pengisian angket. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif dengan persentase. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan tingkat efektivitas pelatihan literasi  kitab di IAIN Salatiga sebesar 82.15% pada kategori sangat efektif, begitu juga  IAIN Purwokerto pada kategori sangat efektif dan sebesar 93.8%. Dan telah berkontribusi bagi pencapaian tujuan pelatihan literasi kitab baik di IAIN Salatiga  maupun IAIN Purwokerto. Namun, tingkat pelatihan yang sudah dicapai  masih perlu ditingkatkan, khususnya pada pengembangan materi pelatihan, memperbaiki model pelatih dalam menyampaikan materi,  memperpanjang waktu publikasi/sosialisasi pelatihan, penambahan waktu praktek, manajemen waktu pelatihan yang baik, menyediakan teknologi media pelatihan yang representatif dan jaringan internet yang memadai, dan pengembangan sistem informasi kitab digital.

Abstract

Google Drive is used as an alternative for storing digital archives for library accreditation forms at State Institute of Islamic Study (IAIN) Salatiga Library. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the methods of observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this study were the head of the library and librarian at IAIN Salatiga. The purpose of this research is to find out how to manage digital archives accredited by IAIN Salatiga library using Google Drive. The results of this study indicate that the management of digital archives for the accreditation of IAIN Salatiga library using Google Drive is by adjusting the template for the accreditation form for the college library. The library website is a link to show digital physical evidence of accreditation forms located on Google Drive. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced in managing the archives of IAIN Salatiga library accreditation forms are technical and non-technical obstacles encountered by librarians in the implementation of the preparation of digital physical evidence of library accreditation forms.

Abstract

One of the five laws of the library is that a library is a growing organism.  Library is not an institution in the "static" or "silent" condition, but the library will be follow and adjust the development of the times  dynamically. The development of the library that is currently in the 21st century is definitely different from the development of the library in the 19th century, not only in terms of the development of this writing takes the theme of library promotion by looking directly at the role of the Salatiga IAIN library in carrying out various promotional activities. This writing of this article using the ethnographic approach in order to describe the culture of the library in terms of promotion. The conclusion of this article is promotion as one of the activities of library marketing (library marketing) and be come the key of the continued use of the library by its users. Likewise the existence of social media is not a competitor but rather a means for promotion that makes it easy for librarians to communicate with users. The Salatiga IAIN Library uses social media in the form of websites and youtube accounts as promotional media to communicate its services, activities and wealth of reference resources to users.

Abstract

The University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) library is led by Lasa H.S. He has served as the Head of Library of UMY Yogyakarta since 2012 until now. So much various achievements on his leadership in the library and UMY librarians. Lasa H.S be come the Head of Library of UMY during these three periods became the focus of this study. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using data from interviews, literature studies and documentation. The informants of this study were the head of the UMY library and librarian. The results of this study indicate that the leadership of Lasa H.S. included in the situational leadership style, which fulfills 4 (four) indicators, namely telling, selling, participating, and delegating. Lassa H.S. is a leader who has the characteristics of firm, ambitious, tireless in work but still considers the abilities of his subordinates. lassa. H.S. always provides motivation and support to his subordinates and is ready to help if there are things that are not understood by his subordinates.
