Abstract

Waste processing of mussel’s shell into flour and extract the calcium content has been done as community service activities. Mussel’s shell flour that added into breakfast product was enrichment by calcium. The products are flakes and cereal drinks. Skill of making cereal flakes and beverages was expected can empower the majority of women who have limited time in the development of healthy families so that they can provide food that is practically nutrients and mineral content enough. It is an opportunity to improve the economic welfare of society, especially poor families to get family extra income. Target of community service were women who are members of the Integrated Improvement Program Role of Women Towards Healthy and Prosperous Families (P2WKSS) in Tegalega, Bogor City and women of PKK Kemang’s Village, Bogor District. The activity were implemented in three stages, the first is the socialization of understanding of the fulfilment source of calcium and utilization of waste mussel’s shell. The second is the manufacturing skills training cereal flakes and drinks made from mussel’s flour as well as a way of packaging and labelling flakes. The third is evaluation through competition of participants to make some variants cereal flakes and beverage packaging. The results of activities demonstrated an understanding the use of flour calcium enrichment by shells in breakfast and drink products of flakes cereal. The results of training activities were evaluated through competitions showed the PKK member was able to either create a flakes product and cereal drink with different variations. The package was quite good so that flakes of such products worthy for sale.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDaun salam [Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp.]dan kelopak bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) merupakantanaman yang berkhasiat untuk mengobati diabetes mellitus. Kandungan kimia yang terdapat dalam daun salam adalah minyak atsiri sitral, eugenol, tanindan flavonoid. Kandungan kimia yang pentingdari kelopak bunga rosella adalah flavonoid antosianin. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan sediaan herbal cair yang dapat digunakan untuk mengobati diabetes dengan berbagai variasi pemanis yang dapat diterima panelis dan stabil selama penyimpanan pada 3 tingkatan suhu. Sediaan dibuat dalam 3 formula. Formula A, B dan C mengandung 30 mg sukralosa, 375 mg stevia, dan 40 g madu. Berdasarkan pengujian mutu, herbal cair memiliki warna coklat (Formula A dan B) dan coklat merah (Formula C). Masing-masing sediaan memiliki aroma yang khas dan rasa yang manis. Sediaan herbal cair memiliki pH (2,89-3,12), viskositas (10,00-10,40) dan bobot jenis (1,0353-1,0382). Hasil pengujian dengan metode uji Friedman menunjukkan bahwa formula C dengan pemanis madu lebih disukai panelis dengan parameter warna, aroma dan rasa. Sediaan herbal cair formula C lebih stabil disimpan pada suhu sejuk (5-15C) dibandingkan pada suhu kamar (15-30C) dan suhu panas (40-45C).Kata kunci: Daun Salam, Kelopak Bunga Rosella, Pemanis, Herbal Cair.

Abstract

Herba Kemangi dikenal berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan, namun pemanfaatannya masih terbatas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat formulasi tablet dari ekstrak kering kemangi menggunakan pengikat amilum manihot(alami) danPolyvinylpirilidone/ PVP (sintetik), membuat formulasi masker gel dari minyak atsirikemangi menggunakan berbagai konsentrasi karbomer, dan menguji aktivitasantioksidan dalam ekstrak kering dan minyak atsiri kemangi. Pembuatan ekstrakkering kemangi dilakukan dengan metode sokletasi dalam etanol 50% danselanjutnya di keringkan denga alat freeze dryer. Sedangkan minyak atsiri daunkemangi dihasilkan dengan metode destilasi uap air.Hasil uji antioksidan ekstrakkering kemangi menunjukkan ICsebesar 54,43 ppm dan minyak atsiri kemangisebesar 454,427 ppm. Kandungan eugenol dalam minyak atsiri adalah 1,76 %. 50 Sediaan tablet dibuat sebanyak 3 formula dengan variasi konsentrasi pengikat yaituPVP 5%(FI), amilum manihot 10% (FII) dan kombinasi PVP : amilum manihot (2% :10%, FIII). Hasil pengujian mutu tablet( keseragaman ukuran, keseragaman bobot,kekerasan dan waktu hancur) untuk FI hampir sama dengan FIII. Sediaan masker geldibuat sebanyak 3 formula dengan variasi konsentrasi karbomer yaitu 0,5 % (FI), 0,75 % (FII) dan 1 % (FIII). Hasil pengujian mutu masker gel (organoleptik, pH, danviskositas) untuk semua formula baik dan yangmemiliki aktivitas antioksidan palingkuat adalah Formula II dengan jumlah karbomer 0,75 %.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to compare the potential of ethanolic and water extracted of teki grasstuber on white male rat strain Sprague Dawley at two months of age and 200 g of body weight. The rats were divided among four groups. Each group consists of six rats. The groupswere ethanolic and water extracted of teki grass tuber, positive control group (Paracetamol) and a negative control group (distilled water). Analgesic potency was tested by inducing pain stimuli previously to the animals, in the form of heat stimuli by putting it ona hot plate with the temperature of 55C. The responses of rats observed were licking and moving or lifting of their legs. Observations were made for 1 minute, before and after administration of pain stimulus at 15, 30, 45 and 60 minute. The results showed that ethanol and water extract at an effective dose of 49 mg / 200 g of BW, gave relatively the same effect as an analgesic or positive control group.Keywords : analgesic, ethanol and water extract of teki grass tuber, pain

Abstract

The stalk of Colocasia esculenta (L.) plant contains flavonoids and saponins. Flavonoids presented effects in respect of the inflammatory process, re-epithelialization and oxidative stress. Saponin not only promotes re-epithelialization of the wound but also effectively inhibits inflammatory reactions during the early phase, and promotes matrix synthesis throughout the wound healing process. So that the content of metabolites in Colocasia stalks is thought to be able to play a role in the healing process of burns, especially wounds with complications of infection. One of the topical dosage forms to treat burns is a gel dosage form. This study aimed to make and determine the effectiveness of gel of Colocasia stalk extract in healing infected burns in white male rats. The test animals were divided into five groups, each consisting of 5 rats. The groups given the gel were F1 (1% w/w), F2 (3% w/w), F3 (5% w/w). While the positive control group was given (Bioplacenton®) and the negative control group (gel base). The gel was given once a day, and the method used was the Morton method. Observations included evaluation of gel quality, decrease in wound diameter, and epithelialization time. The results showed that gel of Colocasia stalk extract (1%, 3%, and 5% w/w) had a good quality and significantly wound infected burns (p<0.05). The decrease in wound diameter and epithelialization time had a value (p<0.05) compared to the negative control group. The healing effect of burns depends on the concentration of the dried extract of Colocasia stalk in the gel preparation. Extract concentration of 5% w/w (F3) has the most effective percentage of burn wound healing for 13 days.

Abstract

Buah jambu biji merah merupakan salah satu tanaman yang berkhasiat dapat meningkatkan trombosit untuk Demam Berdarah   Dengue (DBD). Buah jambu biji merah mempunyai kandungan senyawa flavonoid kuersetin dan vitamin C untuk meningkatkan kekebalan tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat Fast Disintegrating Tablet (FDT) sari buah jambu biji merah dengan perbedaan variasi konsentrasi Ac-Disol menggunakan metode cetak langsung. Buah jambu biji dibuat dengan cara dihaluskan dengan jicer dan sari yang diperoleh dikeringkan dengan alat vacuum dryer . Formula yang dibuat memiliki perbedaan konsentrasisuperdesintegran Ac-Disol yang digunakan yaitu F1 (3%), F2 (4 %) dan F3 (5 %). Parameter mutu tablet yang diuji meliputi organoleptik, kekerasan, kerapuhan, waktu dispersi in vitro, waktu pembasahan rasio penyerapan air, serta penetapan kadar flavonoid sari kering buah jambu biji merah dan sedian FDT. Tablet ketiga formula berwarna krennm dengan bau khas aromatis dan rasa manis buah jambu biji. Formula 3 dengan konsentrasi ac-Disol 5% merupakan formula terbaik dengan nilai rat-rata kekerasan 2,62 kp,  lama waktu dispersi in vitro 32 detik, waktu pembasahan 20 detik, dan rasio penyerapan air 81,06%. Hasil kadar flavonoid sari kering buah jambu biji 0,79 % dan sediaan FDT Formula 1 (0,70 %), Formula 2 (0,68 %), dan Formula 3 (0,70 %).

Abstract

Tanaman rumput kebar (Biophytum petersianum) diketahui memiliki khasiat estrogenikkarena mengandung senyawa kimia golongan alkaloid, saponin, tanin, dan flavonoid. Ekstrak rumputkebar dapat memperbaiki kinerja reproduksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan formula sediaansirup terbaik dan paling disukai  oleh panelis. Sebanyak 4 formula sirup dibuat dengan variasi pemanisyaitu F1 (sirupus simpleks 20%), F2 (stevia 4%), F3 (madu 30%) dan F4 (sukralosa 0,5%). Ekstrakrumput kebar diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70% dan  dikeringkanmenggunakan alat vacuum dryer. Pengujian parameter mutu sirup meliputi organoleptik,  pH, bobotjenis,viskositas, kadar flavonoid dan uji stabilita pada suhu  sejuk 5 - 10˚C dan suhu ruang 25˚-30˚Cselama 4 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan seluruh formula memenuhi persyaratan mutu kecualibobot jenis. Sirup rumput kebar dengan pemanis sirupus simplek 20% adalah yang paling disukaipanelis. Sediaan sirup stabil disimpan pada suhu sejuk  5- 10˚C.Kata Kunci: rumput kebar, flavonoid, sirupus simplek, stevia, sukralosa, madu.
