Abstract

This study is a descriptive study that aimed to gain an overview ofthe quality and improvement of students 'social skills and improving students'mathematics learning outcomes after cooperative learning. The experiment wasconducted in the odd semester of academic year 2013/2014. The subjects were 40students of class VII.3 SMPN 35 Pekanbaru consisting of 20 boys and 20 girls.Data collected through questionnaire distribution, observation, and test. Dataanalysis was performed using descriptive techniques. The results showed thatsocial skills of students in a category medium (89.55). If the terms of the fiveaspects of social skills, the social skills consecutive highest to lowest is self-management skills (3.18), the skills to relate to others (3.09), the skills ofexpression (3.07), skill abide by the rules (3.04), and academic skills (2.70).Social skills of students increased after the cooperative learning that is equal to0.027. If the terms of the categories of social skills, then there is a markedincrease with increasing the number of students at the high skill category of 11students (27.5%) before the cooperative learning to 14 students (35%) after thecooperative learning. Mathematics learning outcomes of students also increasedafter the cooperative learning that is equal to 0.068. Increasing students'mathematics learning outcomes also occur if the terms of achievement KKMmarked by the increasing number of students who achieve KKM before learningcooperative of 15 students (23%) to 23 students (57.5%) after the cooperativelearning. The results of this study indicate that the application of cooperativelearning can improve social skills and mathematic learning outcomes of classVII.3 SMPN 35 Pekanbaru.Key words: Cooperative learning, social skill, mathematic learning outcome

Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on the limited learning instrument of mathematic as a mean of supporting learning on the Curiculum 2013. This research aims to develop the mathematics learning instruments which includes Lesson Plan (LP) and Student Worksheet (SW) based on discovery learning of arithmetic for Junior High School. The development research procedure is carried out with reference to the 4-D model developed by Thiagarajan. This research is done through the stage of define to develop due to limitation on the researcher. Learning instrument that have been developed and then validated by four validators consisting of two lectures of mathematics education and two mathematics teacher. Learning instrument have been validated and then revised based on the suggestion of the validators. Researcher did two tested that are small group tested and large group tested. Researcher did the small scale experiment for 10 students of SMPN. 13 Pekanbaru to determine the validity level of six SW. Researcher also did the large group tested to 38 students of VII.10 SMPN 13 Pekanbaru to applying the LP and SW and getting the respond from students. Based on data analys of validation and respsond from students it can be conclude in form of LP for social arithmetic is valid with percentage of average is 91.97% and learning instruments in form of SW is very valid with percentage of average is 89.40%. Based on the result of small scale experiment to six SW be obtained that the six SW had been developed already qualified practicality with percentage is 94.17%. Result of large scale experiment for SW-1 is 95.70% and to sufficient of practicality criterion.Key word : Reseach of Development, Lesson Plan (LP), Student Worksheet (SW), Discovery Learning.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process andto increase mathematics achievementwith appliedthe learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research is student of class VIII.2SMPN 4Pekanbaru in the secondsemester academic years 2014/2015, which amounted to34students, consist of 13 boys and 21 girls. The research consisit of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.At the end of every cycle the quiz will be implemented. Data collectionis done by observation and tests in the form of quiz. The result of research shows that implementation of learning process on cycle I and II had happened improvement from before the action research. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Most of students were very confidenced  and actived in learning process,such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning.Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteriaincrease from basic score toquiz I and II. The number percentage of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic, quiz I and daily test II  are respectively 67,65%, 79,41% and 79,41%.Results of this research indicates that appication of the learning model of Problem Based Learningcan improve learning process and increase mathematics achievementfrom the students at class VIII.2 SMPN 4 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years2014/2015. Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to develop mathematics with computer-based learning media model tutorial interactive model for SMA grade XI subject probability. This research and development use development model ADDIE. Development is done through the following steps: (1) analysis; (2) design; (3) development; (4) implementation and evaluation. At the stage of analysis, the researcher conducted a needs analysis included Core Competence (CC) - Basic Competence (BC) analysis, problems of students analysis, and materials analysis. Then, researcher collect materials to design learning media. Learning media that had been developed validated by five validators and revised based on the input from validators. Validation of media appraise aspects of curiculum, learning, display, program. The valid learning media then tested in two stages, the small group test with subjects are five students of class XI MIPA SMA Babussalam Pekanbaru and large group test with subjects are 30 students of class XI MIPA SMA Babussalam Pekanbaru. Based on the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the mathematics learning media based computer tutorial interactive model for SMA grade XI subject probability are valid, and obtain good responses from students class XI.Keywords: Computer-based Learning Media, Research and Development, Probability

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning referring to  Curriculum 2013 and weak ability of teachers to develop the mathematics learning instruments corresponding with curriculum 2013. This study aimed to develop mathematics learning instruments based curriculum 2013 with approach mathematics learning Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on the material cubes and blocks for students of class VIII SMP/MTs. Learning instruments in this study are lesson plan, and the Student Activity Sheet. This study method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the study was limited only to development step. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that the study of mathematics is very valid to the average ratings for the lesson plan is 3.71 and the average ratings for the student activity sheet is 3.69. This student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification with mean percentage of student responses 97% in the small group trial and 97% in the large group trial.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the lack of availability  mathematics learning instrument based curicullum 2013 by teachers. This research purpose is produce to mathematics learning instrument (Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet) which refers to Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on matter of build flat quadrilaeral for SMP/MTs. This reserch method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the reserch only done to development step. Based on the results, data analysis can be concluded that the study of mathematics is very valid to the average ratings for the lesson plan is 3.85 and the average ratings for the student worksheet is 3.82. The student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification in mean percentage of student responses 97.5% in small group trial  and 97% in large group trial.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase the student’s abilities in problem solving with apply Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subject of the research is students of class X MIPA2 SMA Babussalam Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2015/2016. There are 21 students in the class, consist of 7 boys and 14 girls. The research are two cycles, each a cycle has four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each end of the cycle carried out tests of mathematical problem solving ability. Data collected through observation and tests of mathematical problem solving ability. Data analysis was performed with narrative descriptive analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. Results of this research showed that the teacher’s activities and students have are increasing at eah meeting. Most of students were excited and active in problem solving and find the concept independently. Student also have confident to express their opinion and doing presentation. The student’s abilities in problem solving was increas if the N-gain average of student’s abilities in problem solving at first cycle and second cycle more than zero. Based on the analysis of data student’s abilities in problem solving, obtained the N-gain average of student’s abilities in problem solving at first cycle is zero point fourty. It means the student’s abilities in problem solving was increasing with enough classification. At second cycle, the N-gain average of student’s abilities in problem solving is zero point fifty six. It means the student’s abilities in problem solving was increasing with enough classification. Results of this research shows that Problem Based Learning (PBL) can improve the learning process and increase the student’s abilities in problem solving.Keywords: Student’s abilities in problem solving, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the learning process and increase the student’s mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of Learning in Cooperative Learning of Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS). This type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VIII3 SMP Negeri 32 Pekanbaru in the second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year with the subject of as many as 39 students.. The research instrument consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used in this research is the Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Worksheet. The instrument data collector used in this research is the observation sheet and math achievement test. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the result of the research showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to daily test II. The number of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic scor, daily test I and daily test II are respectively 15 person (38,46%), 20 person (51,28%) and 27 person (69,23%). Results of this research indicates that application of Learning in Cooperative Learning of TSTS can improve learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes from the students at class VIII3 SMP Negeri 32 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2016/2017 at Basic Competencies 4.3 Using the relationship of center angular, arc length, wide arc in solving problems, and Basic Competencies 4.4 Calculate the length of the tangent of two circle alliance.Keywords: Cooperative learning, Cooperative Learning of TSTS, student’s mathematics learning outcomes, Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the learning process and the students achievement in learning mathematics in class X MIA 3 of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru, there are 20 of 36 students who achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria or 55,56% for exponent and logarithm lesson. The type of this research is classroom action research. The purpose of this research is to improve the learning process and increase mathematical understanding by implementing discovery learning. The subject of this research were the students in class X MIA 3 ofSMAN 4 Pekanbaru consist of 16 boys and 20 girls at the first semester of academic year 2014/2015. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and mathematical understanding tests.The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive.The qualitative descriptive showed that there is the improvement of learning process after the action on the first and second cycles. The result showed that there is an increase the mathematical understanding of students with the score N-gain is 0,34 in the first cycle and 0,46 in the second cycle at medium classification. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of discovery learning can increase the mathematical understanding of students in class X MIA 3 of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru in the first semester of academic year 2014/2015.
