Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMA melaluiPembelajaran Generatif di Kawasan Perkebunan Sagu (Metroxylon sp) Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti,T.A 2014/2015 semester ganjil pada topik sistem persamaan linear dua dan tiga variabel.Tujuan penelitianuntuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis (KKM) siswa SMA melalui PG.Penentuan lokasi dan sampel sekolah secara pourposive sampling yaitu di tiga kecamatan: TebingTinggi (produksi sagu rendah) SMAN-1 Selat Panjang; Merbau (produksi sagu sedang) SMAN-1Merbau dan Tebing Tinggi Timur (produksi sagu tinggi) SMAN-4 Sei Tohor. Pada sampel kelas PKVdanPG, dilakukan pretes dan postes. Pengumpulan data digunakan perangkat pembelajaran: RPP,LAS, media dan silabus; instrumen: tes KKM, lembar aktivitas (guru, siswa). Data dianalisis menggunakanuji Mann Whitney, t, anava dua jalur melalui program SPSS 17.Hasil menunjukkan: pencapaian KKMsiswa melalui PG > PKV untuk setiap kawasan penelitian (tinggi: 7,67> 5,82; sedang:8,43> 6,04;rendah: 9,52 > 6,65). Peningkatan KKM siswa melaluiPG >PKV ( tinggi: 0,58 > 0,43; sedang: 0,64> 0,44; rendah: 0,72 > 0,48). Tidak ada pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan antara pembelajaran dankawasan perkebunan sagu terhadap peningkatan KKM siswa. PG nyata meningkatkan KKM siswa(Sig.1-tailed= 0,00 < 0,05).Kata Kunci: Peningkatan, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, pembelajaran generatif, kawasansagu,Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti.

Abstract

Abstract : This research caused by the low ability of mathematical problems solving student in junior high school 13 Pekanbaru. Purpose of this research are 1) to determine the significance of the improvement of mathematical problems solving ability (MPSA) of grade VII SMPN 13 Pekanbaru students through contextual approach (CA) and through conventional learning (CL); and (2) to determine the difference of MPSA increase of grade VII students of SMPN 13 Pekanbaru which is learned through CA and through CL. The research method was experimental study with pretest and posttest control group design. The population of this study was all of the students from grade junior high school 13 Pekanbaru. The subject was divided into two groups, 7th-5 as experiment group and 7th-8 as control group. The research instruments was essay questions MPSA. Data are analyzed by using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Levene test, t-test, and Mann Whitney U tes. The result showned that (1) there was significance of improvement of MPSA of students through CA, (2) there was significance of improvement of MPSA of students who learned through CL, and (3) improvement of MPSA of students who are taught through CA is higher than students who are learned through CL. The improvement of students' mathematical problem solving skills through CA is categorized high while CL is categorized medium.Key Words : Improvement of Mathematical Problems Solving Ability, Contextual Approach

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase mathematics achievement with applied the learning cooperative approach Think Pair Share (TPS) model. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.The subject of this research is student of class VIIIE SMPN 1 Siak Hulu in academic years 2018/2019, which amounted to 32 students, consist of 15 boys and 17 girls. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students Mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the students Mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathematic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to first test I and II. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematics about knowledge of the basic score (37,5%) to the first test (46,9%) to the second test II (68,75%). Results of this research indicates that appication of the learning cooperative approach Think Pair Share (TPS) model can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class VIIIE SMPN 1 Siak Hulu in academic years 2018/2019 for the subject matter of Flat Side Space.Key Words: Mathematics Achievement, Learning Cooprative Approach Think Pair Share (TPS), Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research based on the limited learning instrument of mathematics as supporting learning in the Curriculum 2013. This research aims to develop the learning instruments such as syllabus, Lesson Plans (LP) and Student Worksheets (SW) based on 2013 Curriculum with the model of Problem Based Learning to develop student’s mathematical problem solving ability on curved sides space objects for 9th grade students of Junior High School. The procedure of research development was done based on 4-D model developed by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel. This research was conducted from define step to develop step due to the lack of time and cost. The learning instrumen compiled was validated by three validators and revised based on the suggestions of validators. The researcher conducted two trials for a small group on 9 students of of class VIII SMP IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru and a large group on 19 students of class VIII B Al-Fatih SMP IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru to find out students’ responses to the use of SW. Based on the data analysis, it was be obtained that the average number of syllabus, LP, SW is 3.71, 3.62, 3.73 in a very valid category. Based on the trial result of small scale for SW, it was obtained that SW developed had fulfilled practicality requirement with an average percentage of 95.09%. The trial result of large scale obtained the average percentage of 94.67% and it had fulfilled practicality requirement.Keywords: Validity and Practicality, Research and Development, Problem Based Learning,Curved Sides Space

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the student’s mathematics learning outcomes by applying learning cycle “6E”. The subjects of this research are the student of class XI Science I MAN 1 Pekanbaru at first semester of academic years 2015/2016, which amounts to 31 students consist of 13 male and 18 female students with the heterogenous level. This research consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students Mathematic tests. The data which collected were analyzed with descriptive analyzed statistically. The action is successful if the scores of teacher’s activities and student’s activities increase in every meeting, improve students’ math achievemsent. From analyzed of teacher and students activity in the learning process showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. The result of this research showed an increasing number of students’ math achievement from the basic score 29 % to 54,8 % on the first daily test and 64,5 % on the second daily test. Based on the result of this research can be concluded that the implentation learning cycle “6E” models can improve students’ math achievemsent at class XI Science I MAN 1 Pekanbaru at first semester of academic years 2015/2016.Key words: Students’ Math Achievement, Learning Cycle “6E”

Abstract

Abstract : The background of this research is the restrict of mathematics learning device as supporting learning referring to 2013 Curriculum. This research aims to develop the lesson plan and students worksheet of mathematics based on 2013 Curriculum with application of problem based learning on the subject social arithmetic for 7th grade students of Junior High School . Lesson plans and student worksheet are developed to structured in accordance with the steps of the scientific approach that is observing, questioning, reasoning, trying, and communicating. This study method used is 4D model that consist of define, design, development, and disseminat. Becaused of time and cost, the study was only to development step. Learning device that had been developed then validated by three validators and revised based on the input from validators. The valid students worksheet then tested in two stages, the small group trial with subjects are five students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Batu Jaya and large group trial with subjects are 22 students of class VII A SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Batu Jaya. Based on the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the lesson plan and students worksheet of mathematics based on 2013 Curriculum with application of problem based learning on the subject social arithmetic are valid with an average value for the lesson plan is 3.86 and the average value for student worksheet is 3.84, and is practical to use by 7th grade students.Keywords: Validity and Practicality, Research and Development, Problem Based Learning, Social Arithmetic

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning referring to  Curriculum 2013 and weak ability of teachers to develop the mathematics learning instruments corresponding with curriculum 2013. This study aimed to develop mathematics learning instruments based curriculum 2013 with approach mathematics learning Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on the material cubes and blocks for students of class VIII SMP/MTs. Learning instruments in this study are lesson plan, and the Student Activity Sheet. This study method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the study was limited only to development step. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that the study of mathematics is very valid to the average ratings for the lesson plan is 3.71 and the average ratings for the student activity sheet is 3.69. This student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification with mean percentage of student responses 97% in the small group trial and 97% in the large group trial.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve thelearning process and to improve the student’s mathematical problem solving ability byapplying Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subjects of this research are the studentof class X2 Senior High School 1 Tanah merah at first semester of academic years2015/2016, which amounts to 29 students. This research consists of two cycles, eachcycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.Data collected through observation and student’s mathematical problem solving abilitytest. Data analysis is done by observation data analysis and student’s mathematicalproblem solving ability data analysis. The action is successful if the scores of teacher’sactivities and student’s activities increase in every meeting, improve the student’smathematical problem solving ability every cycle and improve the classical’smathematical problem solving ability. The result of observation show teacher andstudents activities are improve better than before in every meeting. Based on dataanalisys of student’s mathematical problem solving ability test show the average N-gainof student’s mathematical problem solving ability in first cycle has improve 0,26, itsmean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in low classification and insecond cycle the average N-gain of student’s mathematical problem solving ability hasimprove 0,39, its mean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in mediumclassification. The average score of classical’s mathematical problem solving abilityhas improve 31,46 in first cycle than beginning test and the average score of classical’smathematical problem solving ability has improve 6,15 in second cycle than first cycle.The result of this research showed that Problem Based Learning improve the learningprocess and increase the the student’s mathematical problem solving ability of class X2Senior High School 1 Tanah merah at first semester of academic years 2015/2016.Keywords: Student’s mathematical problem solving ability, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students by applying learning cycle 5E. The subjects of this research are the students of class VII7 SMPN 14 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 as many as 35 students with heterogeneous ability. This research consist two cycles. Each of them has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Learning device used in this research consists of Syllabus, Lesson plan, and Student work sheet. The data collecting instruments consist observation sheet (learning process) and mathematics achievement test. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities that showed the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. Data obtained from students mathematics achievement test showed that the frequency of students who reach the category of good enough and very good is increasing from the basic score to quiz I and from quiz I to quiz II on competency in knowledge and skill. Other than that, the percentage of students who achieved KKM competency knowledge from basic score to quiz I increased by 20% and from quiz I to quiz II increased by 22,86% and competency skill from basic score to quiz I increased by 20% and from quiz I to quiz II increased by 11,43%. In conclusion, the implementation of learningcycle 5E model can improve the learning process and increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students of grade VII7 SMPN 14 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 on rectangular and triangular materials.Key Words: Learning Outcomes of Mathematics, Learning Cycle 5E

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the lack of availability  mathematics learning instrument based curicullum 2013 by teachers. This research purpose is produce to mathematics learning instrument (Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet) which refers to Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on matter of build flat quadrilaeral for SMP/MTs. This reserch method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the reserch only done to development step. Based on the results, data analysis can be concluded that the study of mathematics is very valid to the average ratings for the lesson plan is 3.85 and the average ratings for the student worksheet is 3.82. The student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification in mean percentage of student responses 97.5% in small group trial  and 97% in large group trial.
