Abstract

Abstract : This research is a developmental research which aims to produce computer based learning media of an interactive tutorial model in main value topic for 7th grade of SMP/MTs that is valid and practical. This developmental research used development model based on the teory of Borg and Gall modified by Sugiono (2011). The stages are: (1) potential and problem; (2) literature collection; (3) product design; (4) product validation; (5) product revision; (6) product tested; (7) product revision; (8) product tested in large group; (9) product revision. Product design is through two stages, that are making paper based design and then used microsoft office power point program. The research instrument used a validation sheet that was validated by three experts or validators and participant response questionnaires assessed by students. Assessment of validation data and questionnaire responses of students is done by adapting the formula from Anas Sudijono (2011). The results of the validation of three experts or validators obtained an average score of 3.31 (very valid). The product testing on 6 students of class VII SMP PGRI Pelalawan with an average score of 3.83 (very practical). Furthermore, a trial of use or trial of a large group on 22 students of class VII SMP PGRI Pelalawan with an average score of 3.46 (very practical). Thus, it can be concluded that computer based learning media is valid and practical.Key Words : Computer based Interactive Learning Media, Development, Main Value

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning referring to  Curriculum 2013 and weak ability of teachers to develop the mathematics learning instruments corresponding with curriculum 2013. This study aimed to develop mathematics learning instruments based curriculum 2013 with approach mathematics learning Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on the material cubes and blocks for students of class VIII SMP/MTs. Learning instruments in this study are lesson plan, and the Student Activity Sheet. This study method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the study was limited only to development step. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that the study of mathematics is very valid to the average ratings for the lesson plan is 3.71 and the average ratings for the student activity sheet is 3.69. This student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification with mean percentage of student responses 97% in the small group trial and 97% in the large group trial.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the lack of availability  mathematics learning instrument based curicullum 2013 by teachers. This research purpose is produce to mathematics learning instrument (Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet) which refers to Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on matter of build flat quadrilaeral for SMP/MTs. This reserch method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the reserch only done to development step. Based on the results, data analysis can be concluded that the study of mathematics is very valid to the average ratings for the lesson plan is 3.85 and the average ratings for the student worksheet is 3.82. The student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification in mean percentage of student responses 97.5% in small group trial  and 97% in large group trial.

Abstract

Abstract: This research based on the limited learning instrument of mathematics as supporting learning in the Curriculum 2013. This research aims to develop the learning instruments such as syllabus, Lesson Plans (LP) and Student Worksheets (SW) based on 2013 Curriculum with the model of Problem Based Learning to develop student’s mathematical problem solving ability on curved sides space objects for 9th grade students of Junior High School. The procedure of research development was done based on 4-D model developed by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel. This research was conducted from define step to develop step due to the lack of time and cost. The learning instrumen compiled was validated by three validators and revised based on the suggestions of validators. The researcher conducted two trials for a small group on 9 students of of class VIII SMP IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru and a large group on 19 students of class VIII B Al-Fatih SMP IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru to find out students’ responses to the use of SW. Based on the data analysis, it was be obtained that the average number of syllabus, LP, SW is 3.71, 3.62, 3.73 in a very valid category. Based on the trial result of small scale for SW, it was obtained that SW developed had fulfilled practicality requirement with an average percentage of 95.09%. The trial result of large scale obtained the average percentage of 94.67% and it had fulfilled practicality requirement.Keywords: Validity and Practicality, Research and Development, Problem Based Learning,Curved Sides Space

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a pre-experimental research with the static group comparison study design, that aims to determine whether the ability of Mathematical Problem Solving of students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly problem solving strategy in cooperative learning NHT better than students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly cooperative learning NHT. This research involved experimental and control classes that consists of 33 students and 28 students. The test score of student’s mathematical problem solving ability is the data that used to test hypothesis of the research. Based on the test score, obtained the average value of mathematical problem solving ability of students in experimental class was 81 and the average value of mathematical problem solving ability of students in control class was 43. And from the Independent Sample Test, obtained tarithmetic > ttable (9,45 > 2,002). It is mean that H0 has rejected and H1 has accepted. The average value of test mathematical problem solving ability of students in experimental class is higher than the average value of test mathematical problem solving ability of students in control class.. It can be conclude that the ability of Mathematical Problem Solving of students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly problem solving strategy in cooperative learning NHT better than students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly cooperative learning NHT school year 2016/2017.Keywords: Problem Solving Strategy, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Pre-experimental Research

Abstract

Abstract : This research was motivated by the result of learning mathematics of VII.3 students of SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru which is still under the KKM with percentage 52.00% on subject matter of algebraic forms. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve student learning achievement by applying cooperative learning model with structural NHT approach. This type of research is a classroom action research with two cycles. The subject of this research is the students of class VII.3 of SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru second semester of academic year 2017/2018 which amounted to 25 students with heterogeneous academic level. The data was collected by doing observation of teachers and students activities and formative test. The results showed that there was a better improvement in the learning process from cycle I to cycle II. This is seen in students who have participated actively and work together in the learning process. In addition, the number of students who achieved KKM on the basic score, formative test I (first cycle), formative test II (second cycle) were 52.00%, 56.00%, and 72.00%, respectively. The percentage of achievement of this KKM also shows improvement from before action to after action so that it can be said that student learning achievement also increase. The results of this research indicate that cooperative learning model with structural NHT approach can improve the learning process and improve the learning achievement of mathematics students VII.3 SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru second semester of the academic year 2017/2018.Key Words: Math Learning Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model With Structural Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Approach.

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students by applying learning cycle 5E. The subjects of this research are the students of class  SMPN 25 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 which total number of participants are 35 students, consists of 20 male students and 15 female students with heterogeneous academic achievements. This research has two cycles. Each of them has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collecting instruments consist observation sheet (learning process) and the students' worksheet. Learning device used in this research consists of Syllabus, Lesson plan, and Student work sheet. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities that showed the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. From the data of the student’s evaluation test, it showed that the number of students who reach with Minimal Score of Criteria is 75, increased from the basic score to the Quiz I, from Quiz I to Quiz II. In addition, the percentage of students who achieved KKM from basic score to quiz I increased by 14,29% and from quiz I to quiz II increased by 25,71%. In conclusion, the implementation of discovery learning model can improve the learning process and increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students of grade  SMPN 25 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018  on rectangular and triangular materials.  Key Words : The outcomes of mathematics learning, Learning Cycle 5E, class action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students by applying learning cycle 5E. The subjects of this research are the students of class VII7 SMPN 14 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 as many as 35 students with heterogeneous ability. This research consist two cycles. Each of them has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Learning device used in this research consists of Syllabus, Lesson plan, and Student work sheet. The data collecting instruments consist observation sheet (learning process) and mathematics achievement test. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities that showed the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. Data obtained from students mathematics achievement test showed that the frequency of students who reach the category of good enough and very good is increasing from the basic score to quiz I and from quiz I to quiz II on competency in knowledge and skill. Other than that, the percentage of students who achieved KKM competency knowledge from basic score to quiz I increased by 20% and from quiz I to quiz II increased by 22,86% and competency skill from basic score to quiz I increased by 20% and from quiz I to quiz II increased by 11,43%. In conclusion, the implementation of learningcycle 5E model can improve the learning process and increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students of grade VII7 SMPN 14 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 on rectangular and triangular materials.Key Words: Learning Outcomes of Mathematics, Learning Cycle 5E

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the mathematics learning results of the students by applying Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research is the students of class  SMPN 8 Pekanbaru at the second semester of  2017/2018 academic year which total number of participants are 38 students, consists of 19 male students and 19 female students with heterogeneous ability. This research has two cycles. Each cycle has 3 meetings and 1 quiz. The data collecting instruments was observation sheet (learning process) and the students' worksheet. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities, it showed  that the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. From the data of the student’s evaluation test, it showed that the number of students who reach the Minimal Standard of Achievement  increased from the basic score to the Quiz I, from Quiz I to Quiz II. Each score increase 18,4 % where 23,7% to 42, 1% and 42,1 % to 60,5%. In conclusion, the implementation of discovery learning model can improve the learning process and increase the mathematics learning result of the students of grade  SMPN 8 Pekanbaru at the second semester of  2017/2018 academic years  on probability materials.  Key Words: The Mathematics Learning Result, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: Learning in schools must be well planned, one of which is to create learning tools that refer to the 2013 curriculum. This research produces learning tools (syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan, and Student Worksheets) using the inquiry model in the progression and series material. This research is a research and development (R&D) using the 4-D model. The research instrument was an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, RPP and LKPD and practical instruments in the form of a teacher's questionnaire response to the Syllabus, RPP and LKPD, a questionnaire for students' responses to LKPD, and an observation sheet on the implementation of learning.Validation data analysis results obtained an average value for the syllabus is 3.53 in the category of very valid which means that the syllabus is feasible to use; and the average value for the RPP is 3.61 and LKPD is 3.53 in the very valid category which means that the RPP and LKPD are worth testing. The results of practicality data analysis in small group trials were 3.61; Large group trials found that the teacher response questionnaire was 3.79; student response questionnaire was 3.62; and the implementation of the learning process is 3.76 in the very practical category which means that the Syllabus, RPP and LKPD are appropriate to be used in schools.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Tools, Inquiry Model, Development Research, 4-D Development Model
