Abstract

Buildings consume about 40% of the world's energy, beginning from the process of making the building itself to how the building could meet human thermal comfort needs. In the past, reeds were often used in traditional buildings, but unfortunately these days the practice is being abandoned. Several studies have shown that weeds can reduce building temperatures. However, these studies research has not examined how reeds are used as insulation material along with bricks so the purpose of this study is to compare the thermal insulation performance between plain brick and brick wall with the addition of reed insulation. The method used in this research is to use Ecotect simulation. Based on the results of simulations carried out it is known that model 1, namely the plain brick wall, has an outside-inside temperature difference of -1.32917 ° C. This means that the average temperature inside is hotter than the outside temperature by 1.32917 ° C. Meanwhile in model 2, the brick wall with the addition of reeds insulation has an outside-inside temperature difference of 0.445833 ° C. This means that the average temperature inside is cooler than the outside temperature by 0.445833 ° C. Therefore, it can be concluded that reeds could be used as thermal insulation material because it could store heat better than the material in Model 1, which is a plain brick wall.

Abstract

Abstrak_ Konsumsi nergi listrik nasional terus mengalami peningkatan. Kedepannya, Eco-Cooler diharapkan mampu menjadi alternative bukaan alami.Kata kunci: Eco-Cooler; Ansys; Angin, Energi Terbarukan. Abstract_ National electricity consumption continues to increase. In 2015, electricity consumption was 910-kilowatt hours (kWh) per capita, then has risen to 1,084 kWh / capita in 2019. In Indonesia, Hermanto et al. (2005) stated that around 60% of hotel electricity consumption in Jakarta had been used to supply AC engine energy. Therefore, energy-saving efforts related to room cooling will significantly impact energy-saving measures in the world. One example is the use of the Eco-Cooler. This research aims to analyze the performance of the Eco-Cooler model as an alternative to natural openings. This research is a quantitative research using experimental methods with measurement stages then simulated using the Ansys application and analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. The measurement results show that the greater the inlet to outlet ratio, the better the wind speed distribution. As for the simulation, it can be concluded that model C is a better model than models A and B. Model C can make the most extended wind range, which is about 2.77 meters and has the greatest minimum wind speed of 0.499 m / s, and the Eco- position. Coolers with a height of 100 cm have better wind coverage than others. Based on these results, further research can be conducted to compare the model with the windows used in general. In the future, the Eco-Cooler is expected to be an alternative to natural openings. Keywords: Eco-Cooler; Ansys; Wind; Renewable Energy.

Abstract

Indonesia is a maritime country with great potential, in various aspects of living natural resources and human resources. Not many people know that Gorontalo is a province that has amazing coastal tourism objects. Since becoming a province, Gorontalo has explored a lot of potential so that it can compete ahead with other provinces, especially in the field of natural tourism. Talking about the potential for natural tourism, in Gorontalo Province, especially Molosipat Village, Pohuwato Regency has several coastal areas with beautiful natural potential so that it is very suitable to be used as a beach tourism spot. The large number of natural potentials in Molosipat village is not followed by a good arrangement of the tourist area so that the natural potential is simply lost to tourists. In connection with these conditions, the focus in the implementation of this service is to provide socialization and training to the community of Molosipat village related to how to organize natural tourism in empowering the natural potential of the coast which is owned by the Molosipat coastal area. This activity is carried out by providing socialization and training which includes: discourse, discussions and structuring the Molosipat beach tourism area. The targets that will be involved in this activity are the Molosipat community, especially those in the Molosipat beach hamlet, youth organizations and Molosipat village officials. The implementation of the "Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik" service activity held in Molosipat Village, Popayato Barat Subdistrict, Pohuwato Regency has been running according to the initial plan, but in the process of implementing it still needs to be done regularly in training and mentoring because this will be useful in developing structuring beach tourism area in the village of Molosipat. Therefore, the form of community service activities in terms of socialization and training on structuring coastal tourism areas to empower the natural potential of the coast should be continued continuously.

Abstract

Karawo embroidery processes are carried out without using machine technology. This research aims to optimize the lighting of the Gorontalo karawo fabric production house. The method used is by surveying, conducting direct measurements, and distributing questionnaires. A simulation is carried out using Dialux Evo 9.0 in existing conditions and after the addition of lights. Simulation measurement shows an average lighting value of 461.3 lux from 07.00 to 17.00. The result does not meet the SNI 16-7062-2004 for fine work, which is a minimum of 1000-2000 lux. Based on the measurements on the field, it was found that the lighting level only ranged from 22.19 lux to 30.78 lux. According to the karawo craftsmen, 33% had headaches and eye pain during the production process, and 33% had eye pain. Moreover, based on the simulation with the light on, the average intensity is 1107.4 lux and reached the specified standard.
