Abstract

Egg are nutrient-rich livestock products and are needed by the body as a source of protein, fat, andminerals are cheap and affordable for all people. However, the egg is a perishable farm products. Thesecond phase of broiler production was 42--72 weeks to produce eggs which have a large surface area, thin shell, causing release CO2 and H2O through the pores for fast storage, so that the rate of decline ininternal egg quality the faster. The purpose of this study are (1) determine the effect of egg storage time on the internal quality ofeggs and (2) determine the best long shelf against internal quality egg production in the secondphase. This research was carried out on September 25--October 9, 2013 housed in the LaboratoryAnimal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture,University of Lampung. This study use a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments eggstorage time for 1,5, 10, and 15 days. The data obtained were tested in accordance with theassumption of variance. If there was a real variable Duncan test at 5% significance level. The results of this study showed that treatment of egg storage significant effect (P<0,05) on eggweight, HU impairment, an increase in the pH of the egg, and egg yolk color score. Storage time forfive day the best effect on egg weight is lowest at 1,4% and the value of Haugh Units (HU) of 55,4(quality B) compared to the old 10 and 15 days of storage.

Abstract

Turkey meat has a high protein and low fat when compared with some other animal meat.Breeding companies commonly use hen age variation to maintain the availability of seed, hen agevariations lead to differences in performance hatching (fertility, weight loss, hatchability, andhatching weight). This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of hen age on fertility, weight loss, hatchability, and hatching weight of turkeys egg, (2) determine the best hen age of the on fertility, weight loss, hatchability, and hatching weight of turkeys egg. Research was conducted on March1 to April 12, 2013, held at the Mitra Alam Ranch Turkeys Partners Sukoharjo 1, DistrictSukoharjo, Pringsewu District. Eggs used are turkey eggs as much as 72 points. This research usedCompletely Randomized Design (CRD), with three treatments, namely P1 (egg from 9 months ofhen age), P2 (egg from11 months of hen age), and P3 (egg from 13 months of hen age). Thetreatment was repeated 6 times, and each experiment each unit consists of 4 eggs. Results of thisstudy showed that hen age was not a real is different (P> 0.05) on fertility, weight loss, andhatchability. However, the hen age showed significant differences (P <0.05) on hatching weight, and 13 month of hen age treatment gives the best effect on hatching weight.

Abstract

Ration nutrient content provided should be considered crude fiber content. Crude fiber can stimulate the digestive tract peristalsis so digestion of nutrients going smooth.  This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of different diets on the coarse fibrous body weight, percentage of body weight, carcass weight and percentage rooster type of medium and (2) obtain the level of crude fiber in the diet best for body weight, percentage of body weight , weight and carcass percentage rooster medium type. This study was conducted in 12 September until 20 October 2014 located in the cage of Rama Jaya Farm, Karang Anyar, District Court Teak, South Lampung regency. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications.  Ration percentage of crude fiber are R0: 4%, R1: 6%, R2: 8%, and R3: 10%. The resulting data were analyzed using ANOVA , if the variance analysis showed that the treatment of crude fibrous ration significantly different at 5% level , then the analysis followed by Least Significant Difference test ( LSD). Based on these results it can be concluded that: Giving a crude fibrous ration 4, 6, 8, and 10% not significant (P?0,05) on body weight, percentage of body weight, carcass weight and percentage rooster type of medium age of 8 weeks.

Abstract

The objective of this paper was to define the laying chicken production performance in the different stocking densities by evaluation of the feed intake, daily gain, feed convertion, uniformity and income over feed cost (IOFC).The completely randomised design was used in the research , A total 210 of 7 weeks old Isa Brown laying chicken were housed in the boxes in slatt rearing system at density of 6, 9, 12 and 15 birds/ m2 with 5 repition of each treatment. Result of trial indicate that stocking density had no significane effect on their feed intake, daily gain, feed convertion, uniformity and income over feed cost (IOFC). Consequently, the same production could be achieved by laying chicken with different stocking density (6,9 ,12 and 15 birds/m2 ) in the early grower phase.

Abstract

Eggs are a food of animal which have semi perishable food because it contains many nutrients needed formicroorganisms. The first phase of layer production was 28 weeks produces eggs that have a surface area not large, eggshell thickness causing CO2 and H2O expenditures through pores during storage is slow, and the rate of declinein internal egg quality is getting old. Propose this study is (1) determine the effect of egg storage time on internalegg quality (egg weight, value of HU, pH of the egg, and yolk color) layer production in the first phase, (2) knowthe best of the old store internal quality egg production in the first phase. This study carry out on 25 September – 09October 2013, in laboratory animal production and reproduction, animal husbandry department, faculty ofagriculture, university of lampung. This is study using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments eggstorage time for 1, 5, 10, and 15 days. Data obtained were tested in accordance with the assumption of variance. Ifthere is a real variable Duncan is test at level 5%. The result of this study indicate that treatment of egg storagesignificant effect on eggs weight, value of HU, an increase in the pH of the egg, and yolk color. Storage of eggs for5 days had the highest score based on the value of HU (65,42 3,85) classification as A quality, low egg weight lossof 0,9% and the best store longer than 10 and 15 days of storage.

Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to find the effect of supplementation of zeolit and was to find the optimum level of zeolit in rations on quail performance. This experiment used 80 female Coturnix coturnix japonica of five weeks old with average body weight 145,44 ± 6,72 g (cv 4,62%). The data were analysed using Completely Randomized Design and polinomial ortogonal test. The treatments was divided to four supplementation zeolit rations treatment (0%,2%,4%,6%). Each treatment had five replication and each replication used four quails. Results of this study indicated that supplementation of zeolit (0 - 6%) in rations gave not significantly different (P ≥ 0,05) to feed consumption but gave significantly different (P < 0,05) to hen day egg production (Ŷ = 46,48 + 4,86X "“ 1,09 X2 ; 0≤ X ≤6 ; R2 = 0,90) and significnatly different (P < 0,05) to feed convertion (Ŷ= 4,85-0,44 + 0,10X 2 ; 0≤X≤6;R2 = 0,97). Level supplementation zeolit 2,22% was optimum to hen day egg production (51,86%) and level supplementation zeolit 2,09% was optimum to feed convertion (4,39).
