Abstract

Using varians of litter such us rice hull, wood shavings, straw on keeping the broiler, can affectbroiler performance. Its happen because every single litter has different power of absorbing the water.Closed house is closed cage that build for making a better environment inside the cage. The aim of theresearch was to : (1) Knowing the effect of litter of broiler performance, and (2) Finding the bes tlitterfor broiler performance on the closed house.It was conducted during 26 days since April 14, 2014 to Mei 10, 2015 at the PT Ramajayafarm’s on Krawangsari village, sub District Natar, South Lampung District. The chiken used wasbroiler strain cobb with trademark CP 707 product by PT. Chareon pokphand Indonesia tbk for 270chiken. Broiler start to get handling between age of 14 and 26 days.The research method was experimentally with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) weredivided into 3 step and repeated for 6 times, that is p1: rice hull; p2 : wood shavings; p3 : straw. Thedata were analysis with Analysis of Variance and if it shows 5%, then the analyze would be continuedto Ducan test.The result indicated that the treatmentis : (1) The effect of litter from rice hull, wood shavings,straw did not have significant effect (P>0,05) on performance (consumption, body weight gain, feedconversion and income over feed cost) broiler at closed house. (2) The effect varians of litter (ricehull, wood shavings, straw) at closed house having the same effect as consumption, body weight gain,feed conversion and income over feed cost (IOFC) for broiler finisher phase

Abstract

The Arabic chicken is superior layer chicken, that has high ability to produce egg, i.e  230—250 eggs/chicken/year. Generally, the Arabic chicken was use as layer chicken and not to use as broiler chicken. One the effecting factor to fertility, hatching desrease, hatching strength and hatching weight is storage duration. The purpose of this research are (1) to assest the effect storage duration of the Arabic chicken egg to fertility, weight loss, hatching eggs, and hatching weight and (2) to determine the best storage duration to fertility, weight loss, hatching eggs, and hatching weight. This research was done on December 13th, 2014 until January 8th, 2015 at Ilham hatchery, Tegal Rejo village, Gadingrejo subdistrict, Pringsewu regency. This research use the complete randomize design with 3 treatments and 6 times replication. Every  treatment use 9 of the Arabic chicken eggs. The weight eggs average is 41,18 ± 2,18 gram/egg with ± 5, 31%  uniformity coeffisien. If  the treatment given the significant effect to definite variable (P<0,05), the analyzed will be continue with Duncan test. The research result shown that storage duration have significant effect (P<0,05) to hatching eggs , but have not significant effect (P>0,05) to fertility, weight loss, and hatching weight of the Arabic chicken egg. Abstract

This research is aimed to identify and describe the characteristics of the qualitative nature of the parents white rumped shama which are ready for production includes, the coat color, body shape, eye shape, color of the oral cavity, shape of the head, neck shape, and the ability to sing. This research was conducted in the captivity white rumped shama in March 2016 in Metro, Bandar Jaya, and Bandar Lampung. The object being observed are 30 pairs of parents white rumped shama who ready for production in the range of 1.5 to 5.0 years of age. The data characteristics qualitative nature white rumped shama obtained by direct observation and record observations in the visual table of observations that have been provided. The data were analyzed by using the chi-square (X2) with a level of 5%. The research results shows that the characteristics of the qualitative nature the parents white rumped shama are the coat color, color of the oral cavity, and the ability to sing showed significant differences (P <0.05) on production readiness, while the body shape, eye shape, shape of head, and neck shape shows results not significant different (P> 0.05). Abstract

The purpose of this research were to know 1) the effect of probiotic local microbial to quality of albumen index, yolk index and yolk color; 2) the optimal of probiotic level in feed against to albumen index, yolk index and yolk color. The research was conducted on December 20th 2014-- January 19th 2015 in CV.Varia Agung Jaya , Varia Agung Village, Seputih Mataram Sub district, Central Lampung regency. Manufacture of probiotic from local microbial was made on 8 to 19 December 2014 at the Laboratory of Microbiology Faculty, University of Lampung. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with four probiotic treatments of local microbial (0%, 1%, 2% and 3%) with 5 replications and use 40 layers. The data were analyzed with the assumptions of variance. Based on these result it can be concluded that probiotic local microbial (0%, 1%, 2% and 3%) was not significant (P> 0.05) on the quality of albumen index, yolk index and yolk color. Abstract

The use of curcuma and turmeric into rations as additives is expected to increase uprationsefficiencywith the resultthat increasing the growth rate of the quail. The use of curcuma andturmeric to the rations in the hope to improve the quality quail meat. This research used CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications. Each repeat consists of 5 pieces ofquail as a test unit. Treatment given in the form of a commercial ration (HI - PRO) added readyproducts of curcuma, turmeric, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids mixture. Treatments consisted ofconduct P1 (Rations = commercial rations + 0.0 %of curcuma and turmeric powder), P2 = commercialrations+ 1.0 % thecurcuma and turmericpowder) and P3 = commercial rations+ 2.0 % the curcumaand turmericpowder). Data was analyzed on the variance of the 5 % significantly, when there aresignificant differences, stated by orthogonal polynomial test. Variables observed are cooking loss, driploss and meat rotting test.The results showed that the granting of curcuma and turmeric in level 0.0; 0.1; and 2.0 % inthe commercial rations no significant (P > 0.05) for cooking loss and drip loss male quail meat.Conditions quail meat after 12 hourscutting all in a state of decay.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the comparison of ten days old eggs on shell thickness, weight lost, and egg haugh unit value from different layer  strains. Layer strains to use in this research were isa brown and lohman brown strains. 50 egg samples were taken from each strain from layerof 58 weeks old. This reserach was conducted in Mulawarman egg chicken farming in Tegal Sari village of GadingRejo sub district, in Pringsewu district, and in Animal Production and Reproduction  Laborator, in Animal Husbandry Departement of Agriculture Faculty in Lampung University inApril 2015. Eggs from each strain were stored for ten days. Data were tested by using t-student test with 5% trust level. The result showed that egg weight lost from lohman brown strain was significantly lower (P< 0.05) than isa brown strain, while Haugh Unit and shell thickness from both strains were not significantly different (P>0.05) at ten days storage.
