Abstract

Geometry of space becomes a more difficult course compared with the basic geometry. Considerable evidence indicates the level of difficulty. In the geometry of space, students still have to transform three-dimensional objects into two-dimensional image field. This is related to spatial ability students. By combining the usefulness of mathematics and the development of science and technology it developed a mathematical model of teaching based on computer technology. The use of Cabri 3D in teaching space geometry was meant for the students to make educated guesses / conjectures, test conjectures, construct and make generalizations generally. The hope with the help of computers, the constraints and difficulties that exist can be eliminated little by little. The problems are going to be resolved through this study were 1). Are there differences in the ability of understanding the concept of school geometry student research through teaching strategies and direct instruction assisted Cabri 3D? 2). Are there differences in the ability of generalization through teaching strategies and direct student research Cabri 3D-aided instruction? The subject of this study is the fourth semester students of the school year 2010/2011 State University majoring in mathematics negei Semarang. The results showed 1). There were no differences in the ability of understanding the concept of school geometry student research through teaching strategies and direct instruction assisted Cabri 3D. 2). There are differences in the ability of generalization through teaching strategies student-assisted research and direct instruction Cabri 3D.

Abstract

This paper describes the roles of ESP teachers’ knowledge of their students’ particular academic subjects. This topic is a reflection of a small part of two surveys done along 2002-2003 and 2007 at universities: University of Indonesia, Padjadjaran University, and Andalas Unversity, State University of Padang, Bung Hatta University, and Eka Sakti University. Both surveys involved total parties of respondents: 590 students, 23 ESP teachers, 18 heads of department, 18 senior lecturers of the departments being surveyed, and 10 TEFL specialists. The findings of the research reflected that the ESP teachers should have basic knowledge of their students’ academic subject.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) keefektifan model pembelajaran Somatis, Auditori, Visual, Intelektual (SAVI) berbantuan CD Pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika; dan (2) mengetahui interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah metode dokumentasi, angket dan tes. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah cluster random sampling Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X MA Al Asror Gunungpati tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematika peserta didik  kelas eksperimen sebesar 68,46 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 64,32. Dari uji proporsi, peserta didik kelas eksperimen mencapai ketuntasan belajar klasikal. Berdasarkan uji kesamaan rata-rata, kemampuan komunikasi matematika kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Pada uji anava, ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematika peserta didik. Simpulan yang diperoleh adalah model pembelajaran SAVI berbantuan CD Pembelajaran lebih efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika dan ada interaksi model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar peserta didik terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika.
