Abstract

Lesi kista payudara tidak hanya memberikan rasa tidak nyaman, tetapi kista jenis tertentu dapat meningkatkan risiko kanker payudara. Mengonsumsi makanan/minuman yang mengandung antioksidan, seperti likopen di tomat dan oryzanol serta tokoferol di bekatul padi, dianjurkan untuk mencegah kanker. Tujuan penelitian adalah mempelajari pengaruh intervensi jus tomat dan minuman bekatul terhadap kista payudara. Rancangan penelitian adalah studi eksperimental. Penelitian dilakukan di Rumah Sakit “Dharmais” pada Juni 2009 sampai dengan April 2010. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelompok, yaitu 10 wanita non-kista dan 10 wanita kista. Selama dua minggu, setiap harinya subyek mengonsumsi 480 ml/hari jus tomat dan dua minggu berikutnya mengonsumsi minuman bekatul (30 g/hari). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar likopen plasma meningkat secara nyata pada kelompok non-kista maupun kista setelah mengonsumsi jus tomat, sedangkan kadar ?-tokoferol plasma setelah mengonsumsi minuman bekatul menurun secara nyata pada kelompok kista, tetapi tidak nyata pada kelompok non-kista. Aktivitas antioksidan total plasma dengan uji DPPH tidak mengalami perubahan yang nyata, baik setelah mengonsumsi jus tomat maupun minuman bekatul. Ukuran lesi kista payudara kanan dan kiri tidak berbeda nyata antara sebelum dan setelah intervensi jus tomat. Setelah intervensi minuman bekatul ukuran lesi kista payudara kiri tidak berbeda nyata dengan sebelum intervensi, tetapi pada payudara kanan, ukuran lesi kista mengecil secara nyata (p<0,05), yaitu dari 11,4 +6,2 mm menjadi 8,06 + 5,37 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan minuman tinggi antioksidan jus tomat dan minuman bekatul kelihatannya memberikan manfaat terhadap pengecilan ukuran lesi kista payudara.Kata kunci: kista payudara, ?-tokoferol, bekatul, likopen, jus tomat, aktivitas antioksidan

Abstract

Kebiasaan makan berhubungan dengan 4 dari 10 penyebab utama kematian di negara maju, seperti Penyakit Jantung Koroner (PJK), beberapa tipe kanker, stroke, dan diabetes tipe 2. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh intervensi penyuluhan gizi dan kesehatan payudara terhadap keragaman konsumsi pangan dan aktivitas fisik responden penderita kista payudara dan bukan. Desain ekperimental yang digunakan one group pre-post test study. Penelitian dilakukan di Rumah Sakit "Dharmais" pada bulan Juni 2009-Agustus 2009. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelompok, yaitu 10 wanita non-kista dan 10 wanita kista. Penyuluhan gizi dan kesehatan payudara diberikan kepada responden sebanyak 3 kali secara periodik, yaitu minggu ke 0, 2 dan 4. Data keragaman konsumsi pangan dan aktivitas fisik dikumpulkan dengan wawancara langsung pada saat sebelum penyuluhan minggu ke 0 dan setelah penyuluhan minggu ke-4 menggunakan kuesioner Food record selama 14 hari dan activity record selama 7 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan gizi dan kesehatan payudara tidak menyebabkan perubahan keragaman konsumsi pangan dan aktivitas fisik yang nyata, tetapi ada kecenderungan penurunan konsumsi fast food dan peningkatan aktivitas fisik.Kata kunci: Kista payudara, edukasi nutrisi, edukasi kesehatan payudara, aktivitas fisik, keragaman konsumsi pangan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Android-based DM diet education program on changes in eating behavior and blood glucose levels. The study design used in this study was a cluster randomized control trial with a pre-post intervention. The study involved 33 DM patients in the intervention group and 37 patients in the DM control group. The proportion of female subjects was higher than male subjects in the treatment group. Nutrition education intervention, with application media, significantly increased DM disease severity perception score (p = 0.000), expectations of DM treatment (p = 0.000), eating habits practice (p = 0.025), and fasting blood sugar examination (p = 0.414). However, compared to counseling, the increase in perception of the severity of DM disease was significantly different, but for DM treatment expectation perceptions, the practice of eating habits, and fasting blood sugars were not significantly different. Despite increased disease severity perception scores, DM treatment expectations, practice of eating habits, and fasting blood sugar checks in the application group were higher than in the extension group. Thus, the use of both nutritional education intervention methods has a positive impact on increasing perceptions of severity, treatment expectations, practice of eating habits, and fasting blood sugar of DM type 2 patients.

Abstract

Dalam pedoman penanganan anak gizi buruk  dinyatakan  bahwa anak  wasting  perlu diberi Pemberian Makanan  Tambahan  Pemulihan  (PMT-Pemulihan).  Komposisi  gizi  makanan  tambahan  untuk  anak wasting  berbeda  dengan  anak  gizi  buruk  maupun  anak  sehat.  Tujuan  penelitian  adalah  menilai penerimaan konsumen dan  compliance  anak batita  wasting terhadap  Ready to Use Food  (RUF)  bentuk cookies berbasis bahan lokal. Intervensi dengan disain Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT), dilakukan di Klinik  Gizi Bogor pada  78  anak batita  wasting. Separuh anak diberi  cookies  berbasis bahan lokal dan separuh  lainnya  diberi  biskuit  fabrikan,  dan  isoenergi  sekitar  400  kkal  perhari  selama  12  minggu. Produksi  cookies  dilakukan di BreAD Unit-  SEAFAST Center-IPB, Bogor.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komposisi per 1000 kkal  cookies  adalah: protein 18.15 g, lemak 54.97 g, dan karbohidrat 110.51 g. Uji penerimaan oleh 68 panelis menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 90 persen menyatakan aroma cookies harum dan tekstur renyah, lebih dari dua pertiga menyatakan tidak terasa  after taste  Fe dan Zn, serta  separuh menyukai warna kuning cookies. Compliance  pada bulan pertama tidak berbeda antara  kelompok  yang mendapat  cookies  dengan  biskuit,  rerata  yang  dihabiskan  masing-masing  83  persen  dan  79  persen(p>0.05). Pada bulan kedua  dan ketiga  terdapat perbedaan  kepatuhan. Rerata  cookies  dan biskuit  yang dihabiskan  masing-masing  adalah  82  persen  dan  73  persen  (p<0.05)  pada bulan kedua dan  80  persenserta  72  persen  (p<0.05)  pada  bulan  ketiga.  Cookies  berbasis  bahan  lokal  dapat  diterima  konsumen berdasarkan penilaian aroma, warna, rasa dan tekstur serta dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif makanan tambahan bagi anak batita wasting. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Permasalahan gizi pada anak Cerebral Palsy (CP) dapat terjadi karena asupan makanan yang tidak adekuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsumsi pangan dan kecukupan asupan gizi kaitannya dengan status gizi anak CP di Jakarta, Depok, dan Bogor. Metode: Desain potong lintang pada penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) dan Yayasan Pembinaan Anak Cacat (YPAC). Subjek sebanyak 45 dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengisian kuesioner, konsumsi pangan dengan metode food record 1 x 24 jam. Status gizi dinilai dari indeks massa tubuh (IMT) berdasarkan umur. Hasil: Frekuensi makan utama sebanyak tiga kali sehari dengan frekuensi makan selingan satu kali mempunyai korelasi positif kuat dengan status gizi anak CP sebesar 0,636. Tingkat asupan zat gizi makro yang terpenuhi hanya protein dengan korelasi positif kuat sebesar 0.729 terhadap status gizi anak CP. Korelasi positif paling kuat sebesar 0,885 pada jenis buah yang dikonsumsi dengan status gizi. Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara tingkat asupan seng (p=0,037) dan vitamin C (p=0.008) dengan status gizi. Kesimpulan: Semakin tinggi tingkat kecukupan seng dan vitamin C, semakin baik status gizi anak CP. Semakin banyak frekuensi makanan selingan dan jenis makanan mengandung protein serta buah, semakin baik status gizi anak CP.

Abstract

This study aim was to determine lactagogue effect of torbangun leaves to plasma levels of lactogenic hormone and gene expression of their receptors in mammary glands of lactation rats. Lactagogue activity was evaluated by volume of milk was produced by the rats treated with commercial milk booster contained ?katuk' leaves extract (AF), ethyl acetate fraction of torbangun leaves (EA), water extraction of torbangun leaves (AQ) and kaempferol (KP). Lactating rats (n=5) of Sprague dawley with six pups were fed with AF, EA, AQ, and KP in the amount of 50 mg/kg, 30 mg/kg, 80 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg body weight, respectively. The feed was given orally every two days and starting from day 2 after giving birth until day 28. The volume of milk was estimated by the increment pup weight after breastfed. The levels of serum lactogenic hormones were determined by ELISA methods. Moreover, in order to measure the gene expression of the lactogenic hormone's receptors in the mammary gland a real time - reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method was performed. The results showed that ethyl acetate fraction of torbangun leaves (EA) (a) was not significantly stimulating the synthesis of serum prolactin and estradiol at day 14 and day 28 lactation period, (b) down-regulated the gene expression of estradiol receptor (ER?) at day 28, and (c) up-regulated the gene expression of prolactin receptor (PRLR) in mammary gland at day 14 and day 28. This study indicated that ethyl acetate fraction of torbangun leaves was induced milk production, within up-regulated the gene expression of prolactin receptor (PRLR) in the mammary gland of lactation rats.

Abstract

Adolescents are prone to nutrition problem, such as the lack of nutrition, overweight, and obesity caused by sedentary behaviours. Adolescents’ activities are influenced by their surrounding environment, such as family, friends, and duration of gadget use. Nutrition Education is a method to help increasing the adolescent’s knowledge about the importance of increasing physical activity and the consequence of sedentary behaviours for adolescents. Knowing the most effective method was the purpose of the study. This study used a quasi-experimental method with control group pre-test post-test design. The study was carried on three groups of adolescents, namely the lecture group, website group, and control group, for two months on school days. The instrument used was ASAQ (Adolescents Sedentary Activity Questionnaire) analysed by one-way ANOVA. The subjects of this study were adolescents aged 15-16 years old. This study used purposive sampling to select the subjects. The results showed that Nutrition Education using the interpersonal lecture method could increase 23.7 points of adolescent knowledge compared to Nutrition Education using the website method (6.2 points). Nutrition Education could increase the adolescent’s knowledge but it did not have a significant effect on adolescent’s physical activity on school days. Some activities of the adolescents were quite high, especially the learning activities of the lecture group (471.7 ± 53.5) and the website group (471.7 ± 53.5). The sleep activity also increased significantly in the lecture group (p = 0.040), website group (p = 0.003), and control group (p = 0.015). Meanwhile, the screen time activity decreased significantly (p = 0.011) in the lecture group due to various factors. Further research related to the factors affecting the duration of adolescent’s screen time on school days needs to be conducted.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to study perception, consumption and preferences of energy drink and also to analyze relationship between content of energy and caffeine in energy drink. This research used cross sectional study design and conducted in Solo (Terminal Tirtonadi, Terminal Kartasuro and Palur). The respondent (36 persons) was chosen by convenience sampling. Method used to analyze energy content was bomb calorimeter, while caffeine obstetrical analysis used spectrophotometer. The respondent consumed Extra Joss (44.4%), Hemaviton Jreng (19.4%), Kuku Bima Energy (13.9%), Kratingdaeng (8.3%), M-150 (5.6%), Hemaviton Energy drink (5.6%) and the rest Fit Up tablet. Reason of consumption is for stamina. The most important attributes selected by respondent were energy adding and activity supporter benefits. Time of working with consumptions (frequency and sum of consumptions) have significant relationship (p<0.05). Energy content (Kal/g) of Extra Joss was 4 278, Hemaviton Jreng 2 599, and Kuku Bima Energy 2 720, then caffeine content (mg/kg) of samples was 8 778, 7 688 dan 9 252, respectively.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the food security of farmer household, based on the availibility of staple food, access to food and  utilization of food of farmer household. The research design was cross-sectional study. The samples were consisted of 35 owner farmer, 12 yeoman, and 13 farmworker.Primary and secondary data was analyzed by Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 13 for windows. The result showed that 48.33% of husband and 78.33% of wife were <40 years old. As many as 66.67% ofhusbandeducationand70.00% of wife education were elementary school.  Mostofthesamplewere farmers, 26.67% husband and 18.33% wife had additional work. The result showed,based on the availability of staple food, 70.00% of household catagorized as food secured. Based on the access to food, 65.00% of household catagorized as food secured, and based on the utilization of food, 56.70% of household catagorized as food secured. The conclusion of this research, 63.30% of household catagorized as food secured based on combination of three component of food security. There was a significant positive correlation (p<0.01) betwen income per household per month, family size, access to clean water, total of rice production, and the rice production distributed to household with the availability of energy per capita per day.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is degeneratif disease with high prevalence that happens in many countries. Several studies had been done to control diabetes by using green tea, mullberry leaf  tea, and their mixture. The aim of this research was to analyze the influence of the administration green tea, mullbery leaf tea, and their mixtures to blood glucose level of diabetic rats both during 120 minutes after administration. This research had four phases, first to determine the best mullberry leaf tea, second to fourth phases respectively, determine turnover of blood glucose level on normal rats; attempt during 120 minutes on diabetic rats.  The result of research during 120 minutes have showed that blood glucose level on diabetic rats which were administered by green tea, mullberry leaf tea and their mixture is significantly difference with diabetic rats which were administered by water. Blood glucose level at baseline increased at 30th minutes and showed the difference significantly and then until 60th and 120th minutes and relatively stable. During 120 minutes after feed consumption, inhibition of blood glucose level occured increasingly on diabetic rats which were administered by green tea, mullberry leaf tea, and their mixture compared to diabetic rats which were administered by water.
