Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to find out: (1) which one is better in giving the mathematical word problem solving ability among learning models of jigsaw with problem posing approach, learning models of jigsaw, or direct instructional models, (2) which one is better in giving the mathematical word problem solving ability among students’ level of confidence, students having high, medium or low level, (3) in each level of confidence, which one is better in giving the mathematical word problem solving ability among learning models of jigsaw with problem posing approach, learning models of jigsaw, or direct instructional models and (4) in each learning models, which one is better in giving the mathematical word problem solving ability among students’ level of confidence, students having high, medium or low level. This research was a quasi-experimental research with 3×3 factorial design. The population of the research was all grade VII students of Junior High School (SMP) in Metro, Lampung in academic year 2013/2014. The samples were chosen by using stratified cluster random sampling. The instruments that were used to collect the data were the test and questionnaire of student’s level of confidence. The technique of analyzing the data was two-ways ANOVA with unbalanced cells. The results of research showed as follows. (1) Learning models of jigsaw with problem posing approach had mathematical word problem solving ability as good as learning models of jigsaw, learning models of jigsaw with problem posing approach had better mathematical word problem solving ability than direct instructional models, and learning models of jigsaw had mathematical word problem solving ability as good as direct instructional models. (2) The students having high level of confidence had mathematical word problem solving ability as good as those having medium level of confidence. The students having high level of confidence had better mathematical word problem solving ability than those having low level of confidence. The students having medium level of confidence had mathematical word problem solving ability as good as those having low level of confidence. (3) In each level of confidence, learning models of jigsaw with problem posing approach had better mathematical word problem solving ability than direct instructional models. (4) In each learning models, the students having high level of confidence had better mathematical word problem solving ability than those having low level of confidence.Keywords : Jigsaw with Problem Posing Approach, Direct Instructional Models,    Mathematical Word Problem Solving Ability, Confidence.

Abstract

Learning model applied by the teacher guessed not create a learningatmosphere that involve the students optimally. One of the efforts to solvethe problem is use inquiry method, because this method involves thestudents actively and creatively. This study aims to know theeffectiveness of inquiry learning method in the third grade SMP IT AlMunir Sukoharjo on the circle material. The population of this study isall of the third grade students in the even semester SMP IT Al MunirSukoharjo in the academic year 2014-2015 total 230 students. Based onthe findings, it concluded that inquiry method is effective for learningactivity seen from the process and students learning outcome in circlematerial seen from the process include the teacher capability in learningprocess is 76%, students activity is 75%, students response is 77,17%and if seen from learning outcome that achieve Minimum CompletenessCriteria classically is 81,25%.Keywords: inquiry learning method, effectiveness learning model

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the significance Gestalt-Prophetic on improving parent awareness on parenting method for early childhood with gadget addiction case. This quasi-experimental study was carried out by involving two groups of parents (N = 74) which divided into two groups, control (N = 38) and experiment (N = 36) group. This study uses the scale of parenting behavior (α = 0.525) referring to the theory proposed by Baumrind (2005). T-test was used to determine the significant differences between both control and experiment group. The control and experiment group have significant differences after receiving treatment and the increase of mean showed that G-Pro is effective to improve parent awareness on parenting method for early childhood with gadget addiction case. The both educational (t = -2.20, p = < 0.05) and vocational (t = 2.50, p = < 0.05) background showed difference mean and standard deviation. The mean between control and experiment group based on educational background showed the highest difference is senior high school and the lowest is elementary school. Then, mean based on the occupational background the highest difference is entrepreneur and the lowest is teacher.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze poverty using spatial models. The researchers also compared the Spatial Error Model (SEM) and Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). The comparison of the two models was based on the estimation evaluation criteria and the constructed spatial associations. Spatial regression is considered very appropriate to be used to model the relationship pattern between poverty and explanatory variables when the observed data has a spatial effect caused by the proximity between the observation areas. The spatial dependence of errors on observational data can be overcome using SEM, while the effect of heterogeneity of spatial variance can overcome using GWR.
