Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penambahan papain kasar dalam ransum terhadap jumlah total leukosit dan diferensial leukosit ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah ayam broiler  strain Lohman unsex, sebanyak 100 ekor umur 14 hari dengan rata-rata bobot badan 384±0,14 g, papain kasar, ransum basal  fase starter  dan  ransum basal fase finisher. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan diberikan selama 3 minggu, dengan penambahan papain kasar sebagai berikut: T0 (ransum basal tanpa papain kasar), T1 (0,25 g papain kasar dalam 1 kg ransum basal), T2 (0,50 g papain kasar dalam 1 kg ransum basal), T3 (0,75 g papain kasar dalam 1 kg ransum basal). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan sidik  ragam. Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah total leukosit dan diferensial leukosit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan papain kasar memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap jumlah total leukosit dan diferensiasi leukosit. Rata-rata jumlah total leukosit adalah T0 (6,65 x103 sel/mm3), T1 (4,92 x103 sel/mm3), T2 (6,02 x103 sel/mm3) dan T3 (6,24 x103 sel/mm3). Rata-rata persentase heterofil adalah 54,8% (T0); 60,8% (T1); 67,0% (T2); 62,6% (T3). Rata-rata persentase eosinofil adalah 1% (T0); 0,2% (T1); 0,4% (T2); 0,6% (T3). Rata-rata persentase monosit adalah 13% (T0); 6,6% (T1); 6,2% (T2); 5,8% (T3). Rata-rata persentase limfosit adalah 31,2% (T0); 32,4% (T1); 26,4% (T2); 31% (T3). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan papain kasar sampai level 0,75 g/kg tidak berpengaruh terhadap jumlah total leukosit dan diferensial leukosit. Kata kunci: papain kasar; leukosit; diferensial leukosit; broiler.  ABSTRACT The research was aimed to study the effect of crude papain which were  added in the diet upon  the total leucocytes count and leucocytes differential of broiler. One hundred of 14 days old broiler of unsex Lohman strain with average body weight of 384±0,14 g, crude papain, basal diet for starter and  finisher. The design of the research was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Dietary treatments were offered for 3 weeks, which were added with crude papain, namely T0 (diet without crude papain), T1 (0,25 g crude papain in basal diet), T2 (0,50 g crude papain in basal diet) and T3 (0,75 g crude papain in basal diet). Parameters observed were total leucocytes count and leucocytes differential. Data were analyzed according to analysis of variance to determine the effect of treatment. The result showed that crude papain fed to the broiler was not significantly affected  (P>0,05) the total leucocytes count and leucocytes differential. Total leucocytes count based on the given treatment were T0 (6,65 x103 cells/mm3), T1 (4,92 x103 cells/mm3), T2 (6,02 x103 cells/mm3) and T3  (6,24 x103 cells/mm3). Each mean heterophile were 54,8% (T0); 60,8% (T1); 67,0% (T2); 62,6% (T3). Each mean eosinophils were 1% (T0); 0,2% (T1); 0,4% (T2); 0,6% (T3). Each mean monocytes were 13%  (T0); 6,6% (T1); 6,2% (T2); 5,8% (T3). Each mean  lymphocytes were 31,2% (T0); 32,4% (T1); 26,4% (T2); 31% (T3). It could be concluded that the addition of crude papain in the diet until level 0,75 g/kg did not affect the total leucocytes count and leucocytes differential of broiler. Keyword: crude papain; leucocytes; leucocytes differential; broiler.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research aimed to examine the influence of the effect of curcuma supplementation and Zn-proteinat on level of hemoglobin, hematocrit and alkaline phosphatase enzyme activity in subclinical mastitis of dairy cows. The material used 16 dairy cows (PFH) in with subclinical mastitis. The diet consist of elephants grass, field grass, tofu waste and concentrate. The experiment used were Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. Four treatments were T0=Feed control without the addition of Curcuma xanthoriza and Zn proteinate, T1= Feed+2% Curcuma xanthorhiza suplement, T2=Feed+ 40 ppm Zn proteinate suplement, T3=Feed+2% Curcuma xanthorhiza suplement+40 ppm Zn proteinate suplement. Parameters measured were the level of hemoglobin, hematocrit and alkaline phosphatase enzyme activity. The results showed that the treatment were not significant effect (P> 0,05). The average on the level of hemoglobin before treatment T0, T1, T2, and T3 7,83; 9,13; 7,68 and 7,85g/dl , and after treatment and T0, T1, T2 and T3 9,30; 9,20; 8,65 and 9,33. The average on the level of hematocrit before treatment T0, T1, T2 and T3 27,50; 27,25; 26,25; 25,75%, and after treatment T0, T1, T2, T3 27,25; 27,25; 26,25 and 25,75%. The average on the alkaline phosphatase enzyme activity before treatment T0, T1, T2 and T3 95,75; 90,25; 91,50; 75,50 U/I, and after treatment T0, T1, T2, T3 128,10; 128,70; 83,10 and 108,90 U/I. This althought they were not significant deffernt this research showed third the additional curcuma and zn proteinat suplement increased the level of hemoglobin and alkaline phosphatase enzyme activity, but did not effect the level of hematocrit.Keywords: dairy cow, hemoglobin, hematocrit, alkaline phosphatase enzymABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan suplemen temulawak da Zn-proteinat dalam ransum terhadap kadar hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan aktivitas enzim fosfatase alkalis pada Sapi perah Peranakan Friesian Holstein (PFH) penderita mastitis subklinis. Materi yang digunakan adalah 16 ekor sapi perah Peranakan Friesian Holstein penderita mastitis subklinis. Ransum yang digunakan dari rumput gajah, rumput lapang, ampas tahu dan konsentrat. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan penelitian yaitu T0 (ransum kontrol), T1 (ransum + 2% suplemen temulawak), T2 (ransum + 40 ppm Zn-proteinat) dan T3 (ransum + 2% suplemen curcuma temulawak + 40 ppm Zn-proteinat). Parameter yang diukur adalah terhadap kadar hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan aktivitas enzim fosfatase alkalis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap terhadap kadar hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan aktivitas enzim fosfatase alkalis. Rata-rata kadar hemoglobin sebelum perlakuan T0, T1, T2 dan T3 adalah 7,83; 9,13; 7,68 dan 7,85 g/dl, dan setelah perlakuan T0, T1, T2 dan T3 adalah 9,30; 9,20; 8,65; 9,33; rata-rata kadar hematokrit sebelum perlakuan T0, T1, T2 dan T3 adalah 27,50; 27,25; 26,25 dan 25,75 %, dan setelah perlakuan T0, T1, T2 dan T3 adalah 27,25; 27,25; 26,25 dan 25,75 %, dan rata-rata kadar aktivitas enzim fosfatase alkalis sebelum perlakuan T0, T1, T2 dan T3 adalah 95,75; 90,25; 91,50 dan 75,50 U/I, setelah perlakuan T0, T1, T2 dan T3 adalah 128,10; 128,70; 83,10 dan 108,90 U/I. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan suplemen temulawak da Zn proteinat dalam ransum mempengaruhi terhadap kadar hemoglobin dan aktivitas enzim fosfatase alkalis. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuanmengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung temukunci (Boesenbergia pandurata ROXB.) dapat meningkatkan bobot hidup dan  menjadikan kadar SGOT dan SGPT sampai batas normal, selain itu tidak mengganggu fungsi hati. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November sampai Desember 2013 di kandang milikLaboratorium Produksi Ternak Unggas, analisisransum di Laboratoruim Ilmu Nutrisi dan Pakan Ternak. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah ayam broiler sebanyak 120 ekor (unsex) dengan bobot badan awal perlakuan umur 8 hari sebesar(137,5 g± 16,09) dan kandang sistem litter saat pemeliharaan. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 6 ekor ayam broiler. Parameter yang diamati adalah bobot hidup, persentase bobot hati, kadar SGOT dan SGPT dalam darah. Data dianalisis ragam dengan uji F probabilitas 5%, dilanjutkan Uji wilayah ganda Duncan apabila analisis ragam menunjukkan pengaruh perlakuan nyata.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan temukunci tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot hidup, persentase bobot hati,  kadar SGOT dan SGPT dalam darah (P>0,05).Kesimpulan penelitian adalah pemberian tepung temu kunci sampai 2% dalam ransum ayam broiler tidak dapat meningkatkan bobot hidup, mempengaruhi kondisi hati dan kadar SGOT SGPT dalam darah ayam broiler. Kata kunci : ayam broiler; temu kunci; bobot hidup; SGOT; SGPT. ABSTRACT The study aims to determine the effect of fingerroot flour addition (Boesenbergia pandu rata ROXB.) in live weight and SGOT and SGPT levels, but it does not affect the function of the liver. The experiment was conducted from November to December 2013 in the poultry house of Faculity Animal and Agricultural Sciences and analysis of rations was conducted in Nutrition Feed Laboratory. One hundred and twenty broiler (unsexed) with initial live weight of the age of 8 days (137.5 g ± 16.09 were used as material in this study and litter system in breeding is used. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications, each experimental unit consisted of six broiler. Parameters measured were live weight, liver weight percentage, bloodSGOT andSGPT in blood. Data was analyzed by Anova with F test probability of 5%, followed by Duncan's multiple range test if the analysis of variance showed a real treatment effect. The results showed that the addition of fingerroot does not significantly affect live weight, liver weight percentage, SGOT and SGPT(P> 0.05). Conclusion of the study is fingerroot flour additition to 2% in broiler ration does not increase live weight, neither  the liver condition, SGOT and SGPT of broiler. Key words : broiler;fingerroot;live weight; SGOT; SGPT.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of teat dipping of Ettawa crossbred goat using babadotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides Linn.) extract on the number of Staphylococcus aureusin milk. The udder inflammation degree also was determined using California Mastitis Test (CMT). The treatments were post milking teat dipping using antiseptic solutions containing 1%, 3%, and 5% of babadotan leaves extract (T1, T2 and T3, respectively). Milk samples were collected at before treatment (H0) and on the day 3, 6 and 9 day of the treatments (H3, H6 and H9, respectively). Commercially antiseptic povidone iodine was used as positive control (K+). Experimental research design was completely randomized design (CRD) split plot types, with the different extract concentration as the main plot and the day of treatment as subplot. CMT scores was analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis test. The results showed that babadotan leaves extract 5% had the same effectiveness (p>0,05) with povidone iodine to reduce the number of Staphylococcus aureusin milk. All extract concentrations (1%, 3% and 5%) had the same effectiveness (H>c0,05(3)) to decrease the CMT scores by postmilking teat dip treatments for 9 days. Keywords:Teat dipping, Ageratum conyzoides (L)., Staphylococcus aureus, CMT score

Abstract

Poultry is one of good sources of animal protein such as eggs and meat to support the protein needs of Indonesian people. One of the efficient effortsto fulfill the needs is broiler farming business. Besides getting the expected results in the cage at the farm there are some bacteria such as Salmonella pullorum and Escherichia colithatcause diseasesin poultry which make economically lossesand are zoonotic. This study aimed to determine the effects of temperature, humidity and sanitation to the presence of bacteria Salmonella pullorum and Escherichia coli in the broiler farm. This research used True Experimental Research with research design of post-test only control group design. Samples were taken from the water jars in the treated cage and control cage. The results showed that after treated with opened lid cage within 6, 7, 8 hours and sealed cage there was only one positive sample bacterium Escherichia coli found in the 5th of repetition. Based on the data normality test using Shapiro Wilk temperature and humidity had a p-value> 0.05, it indicates that the data was normally distributed. Based on One Way Annova test for the temperature in the cage a significant value of 1,000 was obtained, which means no effect of temperature on the presence of bacteria Escherichia coli and Salmonella pullorum and for humidity the significance values was 0,990, means there was no influence of humidity on the presence of bacteria Salmonella pullorum and Escherichia coli. It can be concluded that the temperature and humidity in this study had no effect on the presence of the Escherichia coli and Salmonella pullorum bacteria on treated cage as well as in the control cage, so that the cage conditions are assumed to be healthy cage.
