Abstract

The process of physics learning in MAN (Islamic senior high school) 2 Bandar Lampung which is still teacher-centered causes students to have low critical thinking skills. One learning model that can be used to overcome this problem is the Active Learning Based Interactive Conceptual Instructions (ALBICI) model which is equipped with Predict, Discuss, Explain, Observe, Discuss, Explore, Explain Tasks (PDEODE*E tasks). The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the ALBICI model with PDEODE*E tasks in improving students’ critical thinking skills on momentum and impulses subject material. The type of research used is quasi-experimental with 30 students of the class X1 as the experimental class and 30 students of class X2 as the control class. The results of data analysis using t-test at a significance level of 0.05 indicate that the ALBICI model with PDEODE*E tasks iseffective in improving students’ critical thinking skills. Furthermore, theobtainedeffect size of 0.6 indicates that the model's effectiveness falls into the medium category.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to carry out all activities, including teaching and learning. The appropriate learning model in this situation is the distance learning model. However, the distance learning model is a new learning model that needs to be socialized and reminded to teachers and student guardians. This community service research aims to conduct distance learning training for teachers and student guardians in Gudung Negara village. The method used was door-to-door socialization to avoid crowds and prevent the spread of Covid-19. Teachers and guardians understood to do activities indirectly and adapted to carrying out learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This community service activity resulted in student guardians supporting schools in conducting learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, teachers could design lesson plans, and student guardians could use the Google Meet platform. Based on this community service activity, as a follow-up, it is hoped that policymakers and relevant institutions will take part in mentoring and supporting teachers in managing learning as well as monitoring and evaluating the learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the primary skills in 21st-century. The purpose of this research was to determine the PjBL Model's effect on students' creative thinking skills in physics. This research was a quasi-experimental research. The population of this research was all tenth-grade science students of SMA N 2 Bandar Lampung. The instrument in this study was test instrument to measure students' creative thinking skills. Based on the data, the PjBL model affected the creative thinking skills of students in physics materials evidenced by the results of data analysis with a sig value of 0.00, which was lower than 0.05. Therefore, H1 was accepted or there were differences in students’ creative thinking skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PjBL model affects students' creative thinking skills on physics material. It is recommended for further researchers to apply the PjBL model to other learning materials.
