Abstract

One sesquiterpene compound has been isolated and identified out of the ethylacetate extract of bawang hutan (Scorodocarpus borneensis Becc.) barks. The barks were macerated with methanol, and then partitioned with mixture of ethylacetate-water (1:1).  Fractionation of the ethylacetate phase by column chromatography gave pure compound. Based on data interpretation from of ultra-violet (UV) spectra, Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT-IR), NMR 1D (1H and13C-NMR); NMR 2D (HMQC, COSY, HMBC), and comparison with literature, the pure isolated compound was determined as sesquiterpene   compound, cadalene-β-carboxylic acid, which exhibited LC50 of 42.32 ppm. Keywords: bawang hutan, Scorodocarpus borneensis, Olaceaeae, brine shrimp lethality test.

Abstract

Tiwai Onion (Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill.) Urb.) is an Iridaceae tribe which is a typical plant of Borneo. Its used by the Dayak community, among others, for colon cancer, breast cancer, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, lowering cholesterol, strokes, boils, anti-bleeding and abdominal pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the components of anticancer compounds of chloroform fraction by GC-MS method. The results of GC-MS spectrum analysis based on the base peak equation of the chloroform fraction contain 9,12-Octadecadienoic Acid, and 1- (2,3,5,6-Tetramethyl phenyl) Ethanone which has the potential as an anticancer.

Abstract

Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill.) Urb come from the Iridaceae family, this species contains secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids and quinones. This research method includes Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) toxicity using Artemia salina Leach larvae to determine the LC50 value. This study used experimental methods pharmacologically using a completely randomized design in the same direction pattern in the selection of test animals, 25 animals used were white mice divided into 5 groups with 5 mice per group, with 4 hours observed to find out toxic symptoms and continued observation every 24 hours to see death. Testing of BSLT results showed that ethanol extract had LC50 toxicity = 66.68 ppm (very toxic category), n-hexane fraction had LC50 toxicity = 47.64 ppm (very toxic category), chloroform fraction had LC50 toxicity = 295.1 ppm ( toxic category), and the water fraction has a toxicity of LC50 = 194.54 ppm (very toxic category). The chloroform fraction is an active fraction. Acute toxicity test LD50 value according to the calculation method of Miller Tainter Probit (187,499 mg/KgBB), the method of calculation of Thompson Weil (182,810 mg/KgBB), how to calculate Indonesian Pharmacopoeia (187,068 mg/KgBB). Based on the three calculations, the LD50 value is in the medium category (50-500 mg/kgBB).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi farmakologi dari senyawa kimia yang terkandung pada kulit batang kayu bawang hutan (Scorodocarpus borneensis Becc) yaitu nilai aktivitas antikanker terhadap sel leukemia L1210. Hasil uji menunjukkan semua fraksi memiliki aktivitas IC50 yang cukup tinggi, dimana hasil tertinggi diperoleh dari fraksi etil asetat dengan IC50 = 25,2685 ppm.

Abstract

Penelitian isolasi, pemurnian, identifikasi dan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode peredaman radikal bebas dari fraksi etil asetat daun ekaliptus (Eucalyptus deglupta Blume.) telah dilakukan. Tahapan penelitian adalah ekstraksi secara maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat, etanol 96%, dan air secara refluks. Pemurnian dilakukan dengan kromatografi kolom (SiO2, : n-heksan : etil asetat = 10:1 ~ 1:1). Identifikasi dilakukan dengan pengambilan data kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa isolat F3.3 mempunyai persen inhibisi sebesar 1,93 % (tidak aktif). Hasil analisis kromatografi gas–spektrometri massa di duga senyawa kimia pada ekstrak etil asetat daun ekaliptus (Eucalyptus deglupta Blume.) adalah senyawa terpenoid 6, 10, 14-trimetil. 2-pentadekanon. Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang korelasi kadar ion logam Pb terhadap kandungan protein pada kerang darah (Anadara granosa) yang diambil di pantai Muara Badak Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar ion logam Pb dan kadar protein pada kerang darah berdasarkan ukuran dan lokasi sampel yang berbeda. Korelasi kadar ion logam Pb dan protein pada kerang darah diuji menggunakan metode Least Square dan product moment Pearson. Analisis kadar ion logam Pb menggunakan SSA (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) dan analisis kadar protein menggunakan metode Kjeldahl. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan kadar ion logam Pb di pelabuhan umum Desa Muara Badak Ilir, Desa Salo Palai dan PT Pier .VICO Indonesia dengan rata-rata masing-masing sebesar 0,891 mg/L, 0,968 mg/L, dan 0,602 mg/L. Kandungan protein kerang darah di Desa Muara Badak Ilir, Desa Salo Palai dan PT Pier .VICO Indonesia dengan rata-rata masing-masing sebesar 20,4308%, 22,7810% dan 18,0098%. Korelasi kadar logam Pb terhadap kadar protein kerang darah (Anadara granosa) dinyatakan positif dengan hasil koefisien korelasi kuat (r = 0,9130).Kata kunci: Logam Pb, Protein, Kerang Darah (Anadara granosa)

Abstract

Kecambah biji tanaman Cempedak (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.) memiliki aktivitas lipase yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomis tanaman tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi lipase dari kecambah biji cempedak dan mengetahui pengaruh ion logam terhadap aktivitas ekstrak kasar lipase. Penentuan pengaruh ion logam terhadap aktivitas lipase dilakukan dengan variasi jenis ion logam, yaitu Na+, K+, Ba2+, Mg2+ dan Fe3+dengan konsentrasi 0,1 M dan diinkubasi selama 120 menit. Aktivitas enzim lipase ditentukan terhadap substrat minyak zaitun dengan metode titrimetric pada pH serta suhu optimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis ion logam berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas enzim lipase dari ekstrak kasar kecambah biji cempedak. Pada penambahan ion Fe3+, Na+ dan Ba2+ aktivitas menurun menjadi berturut-turut sebesar 57,98%; 63,03% dan 93,28% sedangkan pada penambahan ion Mg2+ dan K+ aktivitas enzim lipase meningkat menjadi berturut-turut sebesar 131,09% dan 101,68%. Abstract

Penelitian mengenai Uji Skrining Fitokimia dan Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan dari Berbagai Ekstrak Daun Akasia (Acacia auriculiformis Benth.) telah dilakukan. Hasil uji skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam ekstrak daun akasia adalah senyawa flavonoid, steroid, fenolik dan saponin. Kemudian, difraksinasi dengan menggunakan pelarut organik dari n-heksan, etil asetat dan air. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan Peredaman Radikal Bebas (DPPH) menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak yang memiliki daya aktivitas antioksidan paling tinggi adalah ekstrak etanol sebesar 91,75% Kata kunci: Akasia (Acacia auriculiformis Benth.), uji skrining fitokimia, uji antioksidan peredaman radikal bebas (DPPH)

Abstract

The Research on "Correlation Pb metal ion concentration the protein content in the shells Tahu (Meretrix meretrix) taken in coastal waters Bunyu Island North Borneo". This study aims to determine the levels of metal ions Pb and protein levels in Shell tahu based on the size and area of different sampling. Then the metal ion content of Pb and protein correlated using Least Square method. Analysis of Pb metal ion levels by using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) and analysis of protein content using the Kjeldahl method. In this study, the levels of metal ions Pb at area 1 with an average of 0.638 mg / L, the levels of metal ions Pb at area 2 with an average of 0,940 mg / L, the levels of metal ions Pb in area 3 with an average of 0.664 mg / L. The protein content of the mussels out in area 1 with an average of 13.9244%, protein content in area 2 obtained an average protein content of 20.3020% and area 3 obtained an average protein content of 16.1540%. Abstract

Ethanol production as a biofuels successor fossil fuels from arrowroot tubers (Maranta arundinacea) through enzymatic hydrolysis process and fermentation use Saccharomyces cerevisiae has been carried out. This research aimed to determine levels of ethanol production by various concentration of nutrients added and variations time of fermentation. Hydrolysis process by enzymatic through a liquefaction phase with α-amylase and gluco-amylase at the saccharification stage. In the fermentation process NPK is used as a fermentation nutrient. The variations of NPK used is 1%, 2% and 3% (w/v) and the variations of fermentation time is 5, 7 and 9 days. The highest ethanol concentration of ethanol obtained are in addition of NPK nutrition at 2% (w/v) for 7 days, with the obtained ethanol concentration of 46, 989%.
